Objective To summarize and analyze data of solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas (SPTP) in China, and investigate its epidemiology, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment. Methods Retrieval of Chinese Medical Current Contents and China Biology Medicine disc by the key words of solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas, papillary cystic tumor of the pancreas, pancreatic papillary epithelial tumor, cystic solid tumor of pancreas and Frantz tumor were performed, and relevant literatures were included. Results A total of 1180 SPTP patients from 117 articles were involved. There were 1054 women and 126 men and the ratio of male to female was 1:8.37.The average age was 29 years old (range 9 ~83 years).Detailed clinical information was available for 1172 cases, and the main clinical manifestations included abdominal discomfort (n=526,44.88%),medical check-up (n=464,39.59%),abdominal mass (n=131,11.18%).Laboratory and imaging tests were non-specific.The tumors size was 1.3~ 30 cm with a mean value of 7.84 cm.Four handreds and seven (36.8%) cases were located in pancreatic head,96 (8.7%)were in pancreas neck and 587 (53.1%) were in the body and tail of pancreas.Eleven handreds and sixteen patients received treatment, and the resection rate was 99.2% (n =1107).Pathological examination showed that 628(57.0%) cases were benign and 306 (27.8%) were presented as malignant behavior, mainly as infiltrative growth and invasion of the surrounding organs, vessels.Nine handreds and seventy-seven cases were followed up (ranging from 1 month to 13 years),and re-occurrence or metastasis were detected in 42 cases (4.3%) and 24 patients died. Conclusions Solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas is a rare pancreatic tumor with low-grade malignant potential, and part of this tumor may present as malignant behavior and it primarily affects young females. No characteristics in clinical manifestations, laboratory and imaging tests are found.Pathological examination can confirm the diagnosis.Surgical resection is the therapy of choice and the prognosis is good.

Objective: To investigate the proper methods of acupuncture and moxibustion for controlling body weight and their objects. Methods: 274 outpatients were allocated to 3observation groups: obesity, overweight and normal, using standard weight as an index. The obesity group was divided, at a ratio of 1: 1: 3, into 3 groups: fixed prescription, local treatment and treatment based on syndrome differentiation. The syndromes were classified into five types in the syndrome differentiation group. Different protocols of acupuncture and moxibustion plus auricular-plaster therapy were drawn up for treatment. Body mass index (BMI), body fat (F%),body circumferences and subcutaneous fat were evaluated in the patients before and after treatments. Results: There was a difference in the controlling effect of acupuncture on body weight among different populations. The curative effect was better in the obesity and overweight groups than in the normal group; the effective rate was 72.2%, 72.5% and 44.0%, respectively. There was also a difference in curative effect among obesity patients with different types of syndromes. The curative effects on retention of damp-heat in the stomach, stagnation of liver qi and dampness retention due to splenic hypofunction were equal but all better than those on deficiency of splenonephric yang and intemal heat due to yin deficiency. There was also a difference in curative effect among different protocols. The curative effects in the syndrome differentiation-based treatment and fixed prescription groups were equal (77.8%) but all better than that in the local treatment group (53.3%). Conclusion: Acupuncture and moxibustion is an effective way to treat obesity and overweight. Treatment based on syndrome differentiation and fixed prescription on the basis of syndrome differentiation are effective methods.

OBJECTIVETo observe the difference between the combination therapy of alpha-interferon (IFN-alpha) therapy Yixuesheng Capsule and the monotherapy of IFN-alpha in treatment of chronic hepatitis B.
METHODA total of 288 patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B proven by liver biopsy were included in this study. During the individualized therapy, they received hypodermic injection of IFN-alpha 1b, with 5 MU x time(-1) and three times x w(-1). Of them, 125 patients received combination therapy with Yixuesheng Capsule for three months, with 1.0 g/time and three times/d; and 163 patients received only IFN-alpha 1b (the IFN-alpha monotherapy group). After the course of therapy, all patients were followed up for at least 24 months. The intention-to-treat analysis was adopted for statistic analysis.
RESULTThe two groups showed no statistical significance by gender, age, liver necroinflammation grading, liver fibrosis staging, serum ALT levels, serum HBV DNA levels and IFN-alpha therapy course. The whole course and the 24-month follow-up visit cover all of 112 patients in the combination treatment group and 141 cases in the IFN-alpha monotherapy group. The response rates of the combination treatment group and the IFN-alpha monotherapy group were 48.0% (60/125) and 35.0% (57/163) (x = 4.980, P = 0.026) at the end of treatment, respectively, 45.6% (57/125) and 33.1% (54/163) (x2 = 4.645, P =0.031) at the end of 12-month-follow-up period, respectively, and 38.4% (48/125) and 32.5% (53/163) (x2 = 1.076, P = 0.300) at the end of 24-month follow-up period, respectively.
CONCLUSIONThe combination treatment with IFN-alpha and Yixuesheng Capsule shows a slightly better sustained efficacy on HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients compared with IFN-alpha monotherapy.

Objective:To collect and analyze laboratory indicators of patients of different sexes after blood transfusion, evaluate the effectiveness of blood transfusion, and provide a theoretical basis for formulating more scientific blood transfusion plans. Methods:The clinical data of 808 patients who underwent blood transfusion in The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Science and Technology from January 2020 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the blood transfusion strategy and the department to which the patients were admitted, these patients were divided into four groups: surgical restrictive blood transfusion group (group A: 72 males and 69 females), surgical non-restricted blood transfusion (group B: 77 males and 118 females), medical restrictive blood transfusion (group C: 184 males and 126 females), and medical non-restricted blood transfusion (group D: 110 males and 52 females). Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were performed. Results:In group A, after blood transfusion, hemoglobin level in female patients was significantly higher than that in male patients [79.0 (71.5, 87.0) g/L vs. 75.5 (69.0, 82.8) g/L, Z = -2.18, P = 0.029], and C-reactive protein in female patients was significantly lower than that in male patients [21.3 (0.0, 56.0) mg/L vs. 37.0 (3.3, 95.5) mg/L, Z = -1.97, P = 0.049]. In groups B, C, and D, there were no significant differences in hemoglobin, C-reactive protein, and hematocrit between male and female patients (all P > 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the difference in hemoglobin levels between before and after blood transfusion was statistically significant ( P = 0.009). After a blood transfusion, hemoglobin level in female patients was 1.44 times that in male patients. Conclusion:The tolerance of female patients to blood loss is higher than that of male patients in surgical restrictive blood transfusion, so the threshold value of hemoglobin given to female patients during blood transfusion can be lower than that of male patients. In the case of the same blood loss, priority of blood transfusion can be given to male patients. In the case of scarce blood resources, the total amount of blood transfused for female patients can be approximately reduced.
