China Pharmacy 2005;0(21):-
OBJECTIVE: To study the drug resistance of baumanii so as to provide references for rational use of antibiotics in the clinic. METHODS: The susceptibility test results of 270 strains of baumanii isolated from clinical samples in our hospital during the period of 2001-2004 were analyzed statistically. RESULTS: The isolating rate of baumnii stood at 16.6% , which had no drug resistance strains to piperacillin/tazobactam; its drug resistance rates to lmipenem and ampicillin/sulbactam stood at 16.3% and 22.6%, respectively; its drug resistance rates to amoxicillin/ clavulanic acid stood at 33.3%; which had higher drug resistance rates to the other antibacterials, particularly to cephalosporins. CONCLUSIONS: To reinforce the monitoring on the drug resistance of baumanii and to standardize the application of antibacterials are helpful for the maintaining of antibacterial activity of sensitive antibacterials.

A total of 35 patients with hallus valgus (56 feet) received treatment at the Department of Orthopedics, the Sixth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University between January 2004 and June 2005 and were recruited into this study. These patients underwent osteotomy of proximal first metatarsal and internal fixation with poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) absorbable pins. All patients were followed up for 4-22 months. Excellent outcomes were found in 27 patients (44 feet) and good results in 8 patients (12 feet). The mean healing time of surgical region was 6 weeks, nonunion or delayed union was not found. There were 3 cases suffering from complications post surgery. Two of them presented with peripheral wound red swelling, considering as a result of extraneous material-caused aseptic inflammatory reaction. This phenomenon would be regressed 2-4 weeks after hydropathic compress of ethanol gauzes and timely renewal of dressings. There was 1 case who suffered from protrution of absorbable pin 1 week after fixation and received reposition and plaster fixation. Bone displacement and nonunion were not found. This complication maybe results from excessively large bone pore due to shaking of electrodrill, which leads to loosening of absorbable pins.

Objective To analyze the value of diffusion weighted imaging ( DWI) in assessing the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy of uterine cervix cancer .Methods Thirty one patients with LACC confirmed by pa-thology received conventional magnetic resonance imaging and DWI before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy . The variation of DWI image and ADC was evaluated before and after chemotherapy .Results The correlation be-tween maximum diameter of the tumor before treatment (37.10 ±11.23) and pretreatment ADC value (0.83 ± 0.12)was not statistically significant(correlation coefficient r=-0.1746,P=0.3475);the correlation between the maximum diameter of the tumor(24.03 ±5.65)and ADC value(1.10 ±0.16)after treatment was not statisti-cally significant(correlation coefficient r=-0.2077,P=0 2621.);the degree of tumor size before and after the treatment was correlated with the degree of ADC increase (P<0.05);Effective chemotherapy group of 20 cases, invalid group of 11 cases,ADC value of effective treatment group after treatment (0.95 ±0.13) was significantly higher than ADC value before chemotherapy (0.80 ±0.12),the change was statistically significant (P<0.05), while the difference between former ADC value(0.88 ±0.10)and ADC value after treatment(0.95 ±0.13)of in-effective group therapy was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion DWI sequence may be useful for early prediction and evaluation of curative effect to neoadjuvant chemotherapy for uterine cervical cancer .

Objective To investigate the risk factors, clinical and coronary angiographic characteristics in women less than 50 years with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods One hundred and twenty-six women less than 50 years were divided into CHD group and non-CHD group according to the result of coronary angiography(CAG).Risk factors, clinical and coronary angiographic characteristics were investigated retrospectively. Results In 6395 cases who were given CAG in the corresponding time period,126(1197%)women were less than 50 years, and 44 cases were confirmed as having CHD by CAG[CHD group, mean age(46.8±3.6)years)].Meanwhile 82 cases were in non-CHD group[mean age(45.4±4.3)years)].The incidence rate of hypertension[77.3%(34/44)vs 26.8%(22/82)],diabetes mellitus[34.1%(15/44)vs 4.9%(4/82)],hyperlipidemia[43.2%(19/44)vs 7.3%(6/82)],family history of CHD[43.2%(19/44)vs 7.3%(6/82)],and risk factors of family history of CHD[52.3%(23/44)vs 12.2%(10/82)]had significant difference between CHD group and non-CHD group(P<0.01).88.6%(39/44)CHD palients were acute coronary syndrome,50.0%(20/44)lesion was one-vessel lesion.Left anterior descending coronary was involved most easily. The degree of calcification was lighter. The type.of lesion was mostly localized and segmented. Conclusions Hypertension, hypedipidemia, diabetes mellitus, family history of CHD,and risk factors of family history of CHD are the major risk faetom in women less than 50 years with CHD. The possibility of CHD is higher when having classical angina and multiple risk faetom.

Due to the importance of molecular mechanisms of drug actions, network pharmacology has become a new perspective on drug mechanism research and novel drug discovery. Drug target prediction using computational methods, is one of the key research topics in network pharmacology. This paper reviewed the related research on drug target prediction methods. Furthermore, general principles of drug target prediction methods and key steps of them in recent years were summarized. Given the diversity of Chinese medicine ingredients, the network controlla-bility of herbs and the lack of high-quality pharmacological data, the network regulation mechanism of Chinese herb research will meet even more difficulties than modern drug research. Therefore, this paper also discussed main is-sues and research trends of Chinese herb target prediction. Finally, combining with the actual consolidated network data of Chinese herbs, chemical structure similarity computation and link prediction methods, the network-based herb target prediction method was proposed to demonstrate key research steps. Furthermore, we discussed the most significant research topics that we should addressed to enhance the high quality results of herb target prediction.

Objective To investigate the performance of MicroScan WalkAway 96 Plus (MSW) system in detection of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE).Methods A total of 81 stock CRE strains were used in this study. Bacterial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility test were performed by MSW system. Beta-lactamases genes blaKPC,blaIMP,blaVIM, blaOXA-48 and blaNDM were amplified by PCR and subjected to sequencing analysis. Disk diffusion method and PCR were used as gold standard to evaluate the performance and reliability of MSW system in identifying carbapenem-resistant and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae. Results Overall, 69.1 % (56/81) of the Enterobacteriaceae strains were identified as CRE by the MSW system. The results of PCR showed that 48 strains were carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae. When carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae strains were identified by the instrument using an advanced expert system, the sensitivity was 93.8 % and specificity was 42.4 %. The positive predictive value was 70.3 %, the negative predictive value was 82.4 % and the predictive accuracy value was 72.8 %.Conclusions The MicroScan WalkAway 96 Plus system has shown good performance in detection of CRE.
