2.Similarities between embryo implantation and neoplasm invasion and metastasis

More and more studies indicate that there are many similarities such as pathophysiological process,gene expression,immune escape,angiogenesis and invasion characteristic between embryo implantation and neoplasm invasion and metastasis, which are taken for two "blackboxes" in medical field at present. Not only will cross studies between both sides promote respective subject development, but also become the breach to reveal life origin,developmental biology of neoplasm and embryo and intrinsic mechanisms of embryo implantation and neoplasm invasion and metastasis.
3.Mechanism of high intensity focused ultrasound thermal ablation therapy

High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a novel physical tumor therapeutic technology which applies the ultrasound well targeting, focusing, tissue absorbing property, and so on. It focused outer transducer low intensity ultrasound wave and targeted in the tumor, whichcan raise the temperature above 60℃ rapidly and induce tissue irreversible coagulation necrosis, with no damage to the surrounding normal tissue. It is a new physical tumor treatment technology.
4.Expression and roles of miR-155-5p in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective Studies show that miRNA plays an important role in regulating the development, metastasis, inva-sion, and angiogenesis of carcinoma.This study aimed to investigate the expression of miR-155-5p in esophageal squamous cell carci-noma ( ESCC) and its role in the occurrence and progression of ESCC. Methods We collected 20 surgical specimens of ESCC and another 20 from the adjacent normal tissue at least 5 cm from the lesion and determined the expression of miR-155-5p in the tissues by qPCR.We transfected the miR-155-5p mimic, inhibitor and negative control plasmid into the Eca109 cells, measured the proliferation and apoptosis of the cells by CCK8 assay and flow cytometry, and examined their migration using the scratch test. Results The ex-pression of miR-155-5p was significantly up-regulated in the ESCC tissue as compared with that in the normal tissue (529.42% vs 100%, P<0.05).The scratch test showed a markedly increased migration of the cancer cells when miR-155-5p was overexpressed. No remarkable differences were observed in the apoptosis rates of the cells transfected with the miR-155-5p mimic ([5.43 ± 3.09]%), inhibitor ([5.28 ±1.98]%), and negative control plasmid ([5.67 ±1.99]%) (P<0.05). Conclusion The ex-pression of miR-155-5p is significantly up-regulated in the ESCC tissue, which may act as a potential maker for the diagnosis of ESCC. The up-regulated expression of miR-155-5p does not significantly in-fluence the proliferation and apoptosis but enhances the migration of Eca109 cells, which may be related to early metastasis of ESCC.
5.Automatic drawing on target therapy area in HIFU treatment based on MRI and CT imagings

Objective To study automatic drawing on target therapy area based on MRI and CT imagings in order to get the precision less than 1 mm in HIFU treatment.Methods Based on MRI and CT imagings,automatic image was recognized and the frame was extracted by image processing and image segmentation,etc..Results The system of software we are studying can be effectively used to recognize medical automatic images and get target therapy areas' image drawings.Conclusion This system of software will be used in medical precise treatment systems,such as HIFU 3D Treatment Regional Planning System.
6.Early image alternations in 55 patients with primary liver cancer treated by high intensity focused ultrasound

ObjectiveTo evaluate the early image alterations of primary liver cancer (PLC) treated by high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). MethodsA total of 55 PLC patients underwent extracorporeal HIFU ablation. Color Doppler ultrasound, digital substraction angiography (DSA), computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed to monitor the therapeutic response.ResultsImage examinations obtained 2 weeks after HIFU ablation showed significant response of PLC. MRI was the best for evaluating HIFU efficacy. Unenhanced MRI revealed signal alterations on both T 1 and T 2 weighted images, and enhanced MRI demonstrated the absence of contrast enhancement in the treated HCC and a thin peripheral rim of enhancement surrounding the coagulation necrosis. ConclusionMRI rapidly assesses HIFU induced complete ablation of HCC, residual viable cancer tissure in treated region, and coagulation extent of HIFU treatment.
7.Effects of Ultrasound on Mouse Blastocyst and Endometrial Epithelial Cells and on Pregnant Capacity of Pseudopregnant Mouse

This paper observed epithelial cells and blastocyst growth and development and made a comparative research on the effect of ultrasound on the cells from these two different tissues.At the same time,it was also to observe whether the application of the therapeutical dosage of ultrasound on revealed that after the exposure of the mouse uterus to the ultrasonic wave of an internsity of 12W/cm2 ×90s on the 4th day of gestation,the in vitro cultured blastocyst displayed the death rate of 81.93%,while the cultured endometrial epithelial cells showed in normal growth,and on significant difference was found between the experimental and the sham-irradiation groups in the DNA histochemieal test of the endometrial cells conducted on the 3rd day of culture.The application of same dosage(12W/cm2X90s)of ultrasound on mouse uterus on the 4th day of pseudopregnancy was proved to have no effect on future gestation.Such result indicates that embryos are more sensitive to ultrasonic irradiation than endometrial epithelial cells of uterus and that the application of within the special range of the therapeutical dosage of ultrasound on mouse uterus of pseudopregnancy has no effect on futuregestation.
8.Characteristics of hysteromyoma MRI images

Objective To study the common imaging characters of the human tissues such as tumors in MRI based on hysteromyoma in hope of getting the results that the same tissue has the same MR characters and identifying the common,comparatively steady MR figs sectional area which can provide related references for the computer-based automatic recognition orgnization and basis for the question such as whether the same MR figs has the same hyperacoustic impedance characters.Methods We analysed all the images with hysteromyoma on MRI T2 and got the rules on MR figs change with the application of the MRI image analysing software which specially designed by Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 for the research.Results(1)No significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area in the different periods of the same patient under the same MRI test condition.(2)No significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area in different patients under the same MRI test condition.(3)Significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area after the patient received the HIFU treatment under the same MRI test condition.Conclusion(1)Human tissues have some common MRI imaging characters in the same MRI test equipment under the same MRI test condition.(2)Imaging characters of the human body tissues in MRI can be altered after HIFU treatment.
9.Effect of oxytocin on uterine fibroids treated by ultrasound ablation

Objective To explore the effect of oxytocin on uterine fibroids treated by ultrasound ablation. Methods Eighty-two single points in 29 uterine fibroids from 26 patients were sonicated with magnetic resonance imaging guided by high intensity focused ultrasound before and after using oxytocin. The required total energy, sonication time required to reach 60 ℃ and the acoustic energy for increasing 1 ℃ of temperature at the single point before and after using oxytocin were compared. Results Before intravenous infusion of oxytocin, the average total sonication energy required to reach 60 ℃ was (5320 ±910) J and it took (21 ±20) seconds for sonicating a single point, the energy required for increasing 1 ℃ was (255 ± 302) J. In contrast, after intravenous infusion of oxytocin, the average total sonication energy required to reach 60 ℃ was (2890 ±325) J, and it took (12 ±7) seconds for sonicating a single point, the energy required for increasing 1 ℃ was ( 126 ± 94 ) J. Those three index all reached statistical difference ( P = 0.002, P = 0.001, P= 0.002, respectively). Conclusion It seemed that Oxytocin could significantly decrease the energy required for ablating uterine fibroids, shorten treatment time and improve the treatment efficiency.
10.The effects of low intensity pulsed ultrasound on repair of articular cartilage injury in rabbits

Objective To investigate the effects of low intensity pulsed ultrasound ( LIPU ) on articular car-tilage injury in rabbits. Methods Ten adult New Zealand white rabbits with bilateral, full-thickness osteochondral defects in the cartilage surfaces of intercondylar fossas were used as model. The left knees in these rabbits treated with LIPU were used as experimental group. The right knees treated with sham intervention were used as controls. All the rabbits were sacrificed at the 8th week postoperation for gross appearance grading, histological grading and semi-quan-titation of proteoglycan in the repairing tissue. Results Compared with controls, defects treated with LIPU im-proved significantly as shown by gross appearance grades, histological grades and optical density of toluidine blue at the 8th week postoperation (both P <0.05). Conclusion LIPU could accelerate repairing of articular cartilage in-jury.
