2.Screening of Sponge Stelletta tennui Associated Anti-microbial Bacteria and Their Synergistic Effects
Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
A total of 104 marine bacterial strains were isolated from Stelletta tennui around Sanya area of South China Sea by dilution-plate method and were screened for anti-microbial activity on Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureu, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilis, Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans and Pacecilomyces variotii by agar diffusion, paper disc diffusion assay and cell concentration counts methods. It was found that 23 strains, which are 22.2% of the total isolated strains, have anti-microbial activities. Among the 23 strains, A05, A08, A72 and A75 were morphologically, physiologically and biochemically characterized and identified to be the genus Bacillus. At the same time, it was proved that there are positive and negative synergistic effects between or among active strains, e.g., as for A72-75 combination, an obvious enhanced anti-microbial activities on inhibiting Candida albicans and Pseudomomas fluorescens growth was observed than A72 or A75.

Chinese Journal of Interventional Imaging and Therapy 2010;7(1):54-57
Objective To assess the application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in evaluation of the renal cortical and medullary perfusion changes before and after acute renal failure (ARF) in rabbits. Methods Rabbit ARF models were established with intramuscular 50% glycerin (12-15 ml/kg) injection into rabbits' thighs. One day before and after ARF models establishment, CEUS was performed on each rabbit. The renal perfusion time-intensity curve (TIC) was analyzed, including parameters like AT (arrival time), TTP (time to peak intensity), A (amplitude of peak intensity), AUC (area under the curve), β (slope rate of TIC) of renal cortex and medulla. Results The value of A and β before model establishment was (17.36±13.73) dB and (5.38±2.08) dB/s, respectively, both was significantly higher than those after glycerin injection ([6.59±4.25] dB and [1.58±1.41] dB/s, respectively) (P<0.05). The value of TTP and AUC before model establishment was (2.46±1.76) s and (329.31±171.70) dBs, both was significantly lower than those after injection ([5.93±4.80] s and [722.28±354.14] dBs, respectively) (P<0.05). No significant difference was found in AT of renal cortex and AT, A, TTP, AUC, β of renal medulla, nor in SCr or BUN. Conclusion CEUS can display the changes of perfusion image of the renal cortex of the ARF earlier than SCr and BUN.

Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic duct stones. MethodsClinical data of 29 cases of pancreatic duct stones were analyzed retrospectively. ResultsChronic pancreatitis was complicated in 21 cases, cholelithiasis in 12, pancreatic cancer in 2 . The correct diagnosis rate of ultrosonography, CT, ERCP and MRCP was 89.7%(26/29), 65.0%( 13/20 ),100%(6/6) and 100%(4/4) respectively. Six cases underwent EST,16 cases did transpancreatic duct lithotomy plus Roux-en-Y pancreaticojejunostomy, Three cases did sphincteroplasty, pancreaticoduodenectomy and exploratory laparotomy were performed in one each. ConclusionsChronic panreatitis cholelithiasis is the main causes of pancreatic duct stones. Imaging examinations help to make diagnosis preoperatively. Transpancreatic duct lithotomy plus Roux-en-Y pancreaticojejunostomy is the therapy of choices for patients with pancreatic duct stones.

Objective To study effect of rubescens on inflammatory cytokines and liver function of alcoholic liver injury rat model. Methods 120 SD rats were chosed for studied, randomly divided into control group, model group and treatment group,40 rats per group.Alcoholic liver injury rat model was made by ethanol feeding approach, rubescens were given for treatment. Then serum AST, ALT, α-GST, GLDH content and liver tissue NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 levels were detected by electrochemiluminescence and fluorescent quantitation PCR,respectively. Results Model group serum AST, ALT,α-GST, GLDH contents and NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 contents in liver tissue were higher than control group(t=12.030~37.417, P<0.05). Treatment group serum AST,ALT, α-GST, GLDH contents and NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 contents in liver tissue were lower than model group (t=5.128~32.325, P<0.05).Conclusion Alcohol feeding can cause liver damage, rubescens therapy can reduce liver injury, relieve inflammation.

Biotrickling filter often offers a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional air pollutant control technologies, but major problems with clogging of the filters due to a high biomass accumulation will provent it from the industried uses.In this paper, the effect of the high biomass accumulation in an air pollution treatment with a biotrickling filter is discussed. Two parameters with specific surface area with biofilm growth(?_ f ) and the bed porosity with biofilm(?_ f )are used to analyse its principle of accumulation. Finally, some control measures including chemical methods, physical machine-made methods and other control methods are overviewed.
