Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of plum-blossom needle therapy and cupping therapy combined with traction on cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.Methods 60 patients with cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group. The patients of the treatment group were treated with plum-blossom needle therapy and cupping therapy combined with traction, and those of the control group only with traction. The therapeutic effects of two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 83.3 %, that of the control group was 60.0%. There was a significant difference between two groups ( P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of plum-blossom needle therapy and cupping therapy combined with traction on cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type is superior to traction therapy alone.

· AIM: To investigate the complications of intravitreal triamsinolone acetonide (TA) injection in vitrectomy for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).· METHODS: From February 2005 to January 2007, 18patients (18 eyes) with PDR who were injected with TA in vitrectomy were observed retrospectively after surgery.· RESULTS: During a postoperative follow-up period of 3 to 6 months (mean 4.6 months), some complications including deposit of TA granules on the macular region and surface of the retina (3 eyes), postoperative vitreous hemorrhage (3eyes), elevated intraocular pressure (2 eyes) and pseudohypopyon (1 eye)were observed.· CONCLUSION: The complications after surgery such as deposit of TA granules on the macular region and surface of the retina and pseudohypopyon could be cured without any special treatment. All eyes with elevated intraocular pressure after surgery were controlled by drug. Re-operation may be an effective method for patients with unabsorbable vitreous hemorrhage after vitrectomy.

The contents of coumarins in the sulfur fumigated Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi, ADR) were reduced significantly. To achieve the quality control of ADR, the qualitative identification of sulfur fumigated ADR and quantitative model of imperatorin content should be established. The near-infrared (NIR) spectrograms of non-sulfur and sulfur fumigated ADR were collected by NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy technology and pretreated by the method of first derivative derivation and vector normalization. The Ward's Algorithm method was used for the cluster analysis. The non-sulfur and sulfur fumigated ADR can be quickly identified in the range of 8,806. 0-3 811.0 cm(-1) based on the cluster analysis. The NIR quantitative model of imperatorin was established by the contents of imperatorin determined by HPLC in combination with partial least squares regression analysis. According to the calibration model established in this study, correlation coefficients (R2), the root-mean-square error of cross-validation (RMSECV), and the root-mean-square error of prediction (RMSEP) for imperatorin were 0.982 8, 0.006 8, 0.011 8, respectively. The quantitative model of imperatorin can be applied to determine the content of imperatorin in ADR accurately.

By using the pharmacophore model of mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists as a starting point, the experiment stud- ies the method of traditional Chinese medicine formula design for anti-hypertensive. Pharmacophore models were generated by 3D-QSAR pharmacophore (Hypogen) program of the DS3.5, based on the training set composed of 33 mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. The best pharmacophore model consisted of two Hydrogen-bond acceptors, three Hydrophobic and four excluded volumes. Its correlation coefficient of training set and test set, N, and CAI value were 0.9534, 0.6748, 2.878, and 1.119. According to the database screening, 1700 active compounds from 86 source plant were obtained. Because of lacking of available anti-hypertensive medi cation strategy in traditional theory, this article takes advantage of patent retrieval in world traditional medicine patent database, in order to design drug formula. Finally, two formulae was obtained for antihypertensive.

Objective To investigate the expression of Clq complement receptor(ClqRp and gClqR)in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE), and the corre|ation between serum levels of complement lq(Clq)and anti-Clq autoantibodies(ClqAb)with ClqRp and gClqR is analyzed. The probable mechanism of ClqRp and gClqR in the development of SLE is explored. Methods The peripherial blood monouclear cells of 58 SLE patients and 30 healthy subjects were collected for the detection of the expression of ClqRp and gClqR by flow cytometry. The serum levels of Clq and ClqAb were detected by single radial immunodiffusion and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)re- spectively. The correlation between ClqRp and gClqR and other disease activity parameters, such as Clq, ClqAb, SLEDAI score, anti-dsDNA antibody, C3, C4 levels were analyzed. Objective To discuss the quantitative diagnosis of stagnation of Qi and blood stasis syndrome in chronic prostatitis. To make diagnosis chart and ensure diagnosis threshold level which provide statistics evidence for syndrome differentiation of TCM. Methods By the statistical ways, 168 cases of chronic prostatitis belong to stagnation of Qi blood and stasis syndrome and 198 cases of non-stagnation of Qi and blood stasis syndrome were investigated. To make a diagnosis chart and ensure diagnosis threshold level by applying the method of the maximum likelihood discriminatory analysis. Results The quantitative diagnosis chart was made and diagnosis threshold level was 26. According to the retrospective and prospective test, its sensitivity, especially degree, coincidence rate, error rate and positive likelihood ratio were 94.64%, 88.89%, 91.53%, 8.47%, 8.52 and 94.28%, 90.32%, 92.42%, 7.58%, 9.74. Conclusion The indexes of the quantitative diagnosis have good objectivity. According to the retrospective and prospective test, the diagnosis chart was proved to be practical.

OBJECTIVETo study clinical effects of the over-articular external fixator combined with limited internal fixation for the treatment of Pilon fractures caused by high energy.

METHODSFrom September 2003 to April 2011, 36 patients with Pilon fractures caused by high energy were treated with the over-articular external fixator combined with limited internal fixator. There were 25 males and 11 females, ranging in age from 16 to 72 years old,with an average of 38 years old. The diagnoses of all patients were determined by conventional X-ray examination or three-dimensional spiral CT examination. The AOFAS scoring criteria was used to evaluate the therapeutic effects. The patients with comminuted fractures were treated with screw or Kirschner wire fixation without uncovering periost so as to enhance stability between fracture end and bone blocks,followed by the fixation with over-articular external fixators.

RESULTSAll the patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 4 to 27 months, with an average of 13 months. Thirty-two patients got wound healing at the first stage. And the bone union duration ranged from 2 to 6 months, with a mean of 3 months. According to the AOFAS ankle-hindfoot subjective scoring standard, 13 patients got an excellent result, 20 good and 3 fair, with an score of 88.2 +/- 3.6. Twelve patients had infections at pinhole, 5 patients had pinhole pain. One patient had the fixator broken induced by over loading, who was cured after treatment. There were no complications such as nerve or vascular injuries, or osteomyelitis.

CONCLUSIONThe over-articular external fixation combined with limited internal fixation for the treatment of Pilon fractures caused by high energy is an ideal method, which has such advantages as reliable fixation, simple operation, coincidence with principles of biomechanical fixation, and benefit for fracture healing.
