Objective To evaluate the value of endometrial volume measurement and 3-dimensional power Doppler imaging(3D-PDI) in the differentiation between endometrial polyps and endometrial hyperplasia. Methods One hundred and fifty-six women who diagnosed as thick and inhomogeneous endometrium or hyperechogenic focal intrauterine structures by 2D ultrasound were enrolled, including 50 patients with endometrial polyps in the proliferative phase,51 cases with hyperplasia and 55 cases with normal histology or others. All were scheduled for hysteroscopy, dilatation and curettage, and the ultrasound was performed within 24 hours before the procedure. Endometrial volume, vascularity index (VI), flow index (FI) and vascularity flow index (VFI) were measured. These parameters were compared between endometrial polyps group and endometrial hyperplasia group. Results These parameters (endometrial volume,VI,FI and VFI) were all considered statistically significant between two groups. Conclusions Endometrial volume and 3D-PDI are good diagnostic tools in the differentiation between endometrial polyps and endometrial hyperplasia.
4.Domestic shock wave lithotripters and their characteristics
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2004;0(08):-
Although there is great technological disparity between the best foreign lithotripters and domestic ones, the clinical efficacy of the latter is quite good. In this article, the characteristics, developing status and clinical applications of domestic lithotripters are introduced.

This study collected demographic data, past history, personal history, family history, dosage, solvent, combined medication information of adverse reaction cases from a prospective, multi center, large sample intensive hospital monitoring, and found the influencing factors with cross-tab analysis. The results showed that in the medication group of 19-45, patients with allergic histories had a higher proportion in ADR; in the medication group of 46-65, male patients with allergic histories had a higher proportion in ADR; indication and non-indication group, patients of 19-45 years old, with combined medications and allergy histories had a higher proportion in ADR; Non-indication medication group, patients with combined medication, higher concentration, out-instruction solvent and dosage, had a higher proportion in ADR. So, the ADRs of Shenfu injection were related to the history of drug allergy, and also related to the indication, dosage, solvent, concentration when it was used.

Objective To compare the performances of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and multislice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) in the preoperative staging of Borrmann type Ⅳ gastric cancer. Methods 48 patients involved in this study, all the patients had undergone surgical resection, Borrmann Type Ⅳ gastric cancer had con-firmed and evaluated by EUS and MSCT. Tumor staging was evaluated by Tumor-Node-Metastasis (TNM) staging. The results from the imaging modalities were compared with postoperative histopathological outcomes. Results The overall accuracies of EUS and MSCT for the T staging category were 54.2 % and 79.2 %( = 0.009), respectively. Stratified analysis revealed that the accuracy of MSCT in T3 and T4 staging was significantly higher than that of EUS ( = 0.032 for both). The overall accuracies of EUS and MSCT for the N staging category were both 56.3%. The sensitivity and specificity of EUS and MSCT in N staging were 83.3 %/72.2 % and 66.7 %/91.7 %, respectively. Conclusion MSCT prevail over EUS for Borrmann Type Ⅳ gastric cancer patients with invasion into serosal layer or adjacent organs or with distant metastasis.

AIM: To observe clinical efficacy of the intravitreal injection of conbercept treatment for exudative age -related macular degeneration.
METHODS:Prospective study. Totally 112 senile patients (112 eyes) with exudative macular degeneration were randomly divided into study group and the control group, 56 cases in each group. The study group were treated with intravitreal injection of conbercept. The control group received conservative treatment. Uncorrected visual acuity and foveal retinal thickness were observed before and after treatment in the two groups.
RESULTS: Visual acuity of study group improved significantly, and the most obvious improvement was observed at 6mo after treatment. Foveal retinal thickness of study group was reduced after treatment, and the most obvious decrease was observed at 6mo after treatment.CONCLUSION: Intravitreal injection of conbercept can improve visual acuity reduced foveal thickness in senile patients with exudative age - related macular degeneration.

BACKGROUND:To construct tissue engineering cartilage would open up a novel way for the repair of cartilage damage in avoidance of the disadvantages of traditional therapeutic method.OBJECTIVE: To probe the techniques for the isolation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from bone marrow, as well as the in vitro differentiation into chondrocytic phenotype in a specific culture fluid.DESIGN:A complete randomized experimentSETTING:The Department of Traumatic Orthopedics and Hand Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, and Teaching and Research Faculty of Histology and Embryology of Guangxi Medical University.METHODS: The experiment was carried out at Guangxi Medical University between August 2002 and April 2003. Twenty SD neonatal weaning rats were selected. Bone marrow was aspirated from the bones of rat limbs and was isolated by gradient centrifugation in Percoll, and MSCs could be obtained in combination with adherent screening method, which were then cultured in DMEM-LG with 15% fatal bovine serum (FBS) in the incubator of 37℃ with 5% CO2 for 10-14 days. The passage cells were induced in DMEM-HG with 15% FBS (containing TGF-β1 10 μg/L, 10-7 mol/L dexamethasone, 50 mg/L VitC).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES :The morphology, growth, as well as proliferation and specific expression of chondrogenic matrix of in vitro cultured MSCs due to specific induction.RESULTS: Totally 20 SD rats were observed and analyzed with no loss SCs grew in visible symmetric colonies, displaying a long-spindle shape, and the morphological characteristics of marrow-derived MSCs had no obvious changes during passage-culture, but its proliferation time was found from a shuttle fibroblastic appearance to polygonal shape, displaying posiHC staining of type Ⅱ collagen of cartilage specific matrix.bronectin adherent screening technique is a convenient, effective and practical method to separate and collect MSCs from rat bone marrows in chondrogenic phenotype when induced by a specific medium and can secrete cartilage specific matrix, and they can be the optimal seed cells for cartilage tissue engineering.
