Objective:This study aims to investigate the method and clinical outcomes of feeding tube placement and periopera-tive nutritional support for esophageal carcinoma patients. Methods:A total of 513 esophageal carcinoma patients who have undergone radical resection and reconstruction by a single operating group between January 2012 and December 2013 participated this study. Feed-ing tubes were inserted via the nasal path of 497 cases and by jejunostomy in 16 cases. Early enteral nutrition (EN) was administered through the feeding tubes 24 h postoperatively with a stepwise increase, whereas supplementation of parenteral nutrition (PN) was ter-minated until total EN. Results:Feeding tubes were successfully inserted in all patients during operation. No death or nutritional and metabolic disorders were documented during the observation period. No differences in anastomotic fistula, pulmonary complication, and incision infection were identified between the nasointestinal and jejunostomy groups (P>0.05). A higher incidence of intestinal ob-struction was observed in the jejunostomy group than in the nasointestinal group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Effective placement of nasoin-testinal tube and early enteral feeding are safe and effective methods for patients who have undergone esophagectomy for esophageal carcinoma.

Objective To research the applications of resting-state functional MRI in conjunction with voxel-based morphometry on cerebral functions and structures in patients with schizophrenia. Methods Thirty-two patients with schizophrenia and 32 healthy people underwent resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (Rs-fMRI)and sagittal scanning T1WI with 3D FFE Pulse Sequence. Rest1.8 software was applied to calculate the differences of amplitude of standardized low-frequency fluctuation(ALFF)between the two groups, then the voxel-based morphometry(VBM)data of abnormal brain regions were evaluated to compare the differences of grey matter intensity. Finally, combining with ALEF and VBM,we explored the changes of cerebral functions and structures. Results As compared to the control group ,the ALFF-elevated regions were the right putamen ,the left orbital frontal cortex extending to the left putamen and left dorsal-lateral superior frontal gyrus;the ALFF-decreased regions were the right inferior tempotalgyrus, the left posterior cingulated gyrus and the left angular gyrus(P<0.05). No elevated regions of grey matter intensity were found in the patient group. Conclusions Extensive abnormal active regions of the brain under resting state could be found in patients with schizophrenia ,the grey matter intensity of abnormal regions also decreased generally. They are in accordance with the glutamate-hypothesis of schizophrenia ,which involves extensive impairments of neurons ,disorders of neurotransmitter′s circulations and balances.

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at four sacral points on overactive bladder syndrome. Methods:A total of 120 female patients with overactive bladder syndrome were allocated to a treatment group of 80 cases and a control group of 40 cases on a voluntary basis. The patients in the treatment group received EA at four sacral points, and the treatment was given three times a week for 6 consecutive weeks, while the patients in the control group received oral administration of M-receptor antagonist tolterodine tartrate, which was given 4 mg each time, once a day for 6 consecutive weeks. Then the symptom scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:At the end of treatment, the symptom scores showed statistical significant differences in comparing with those before treatment in both groups (both P<0.01);the symptom score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, showing a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion:EA at four sacral points is an effective method for overactive bladder syndrome.

Objective To observe erythropoietin (EPO) and its mRNA expression changes in rats cortical neurons when suffering hypoxia and investigate the endogenous EPO protective effect of hypoxia neuronal cells. Methods Cultured cortical neurons were prepared from hypoxia rats and divided into control, hypoxia 12,24,48,72 h group.Using immunohistochemistry, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot,we observed EPO and its mRNA expression in cells, and also observe the culture medium containing lactate dehydrogenase to evaluate the activity of neurons in the whole process. Results Immunohistochemistry,RT-PCR and Western blot analysis showed:the EPO (20.79 ± 2.98) and its mRNA (0.78 ± 0.05) at 12 h had a basic expression in hypoxia group, compared with the control group (EPO:17.12 ± 1.99; mRNA:0.39 ± 0.05),and the difference was statistically significant (t =2.51,P < 0.05 ; t =13.51,P < 0.01) ; the strongest expression was observed at 48 h (EPO:28.88 ± 3.41,mRNA:1.45 ± 0.07),the difference was statistically significant (t =7.29,P < 0.01 ; t =33.24,P < 0.01) ; and neuronal activity was strongest.Lactate dehydrogenase activity was significantly decreased after hypoxia 72 h,and also a statistically significant difference was found between the groups at each point. Conclusions The EPO and EPO mRNA expression are increased after hypoxia in neuron cells, and may enhance the activity of neurons. Our study suggests that EPO might be involved in the development process of neuronal hypoxia and play an important role in neuronal hypoxia process.

Although traditional tooth preparation techniques (e.g., depth-groove-guided and index-guided techniques) are designed to improve preparation precision, the results are unsatisfactory because of the lack of proper estimating tools. This study proposed a novel technique, in which relevant details for preparation of drilling holes are provided and corresponding depth is estimated using a quantitive bur under a microscope. This technique offers a viable option for precise tooth preparation.

Objective To study the safety and efficacy of transhepatic arterial infusion embolization using microspheres combined with lipiodol for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods Transhepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE)was performed with 1-2 ml 300-500?m mierospheres and 10-20 ml lipiodol for treatment of HCC.Changes of liver function,AFP,responses of tumor and complications related to embolization were analyzed before and after TACE.Results Thirty six patients with HCC were enrolled into this study. After TACE,patients' liver function got worsen and tumor size decreased significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion TACE with use of microspheres combined with lipiodol is an effective treatment for HCC,but should be taken carefully to avoid hepatic failure.

In this study, nattokinase gene was amplified by PCR using bacillus subtilis chromosomal DNA as template and cloned into expressed vector pBV220. After transforming recombinant plasmid into E.coli HB101, the recombinant strain was yielded. It was proved that expression products was secretive and expression protein was 12% of total cell protein by SDS-PAGE. Optimum culture time and inducing time was determined as 6h and 5h respectively. The plasmid stability studies showed that recombinant plasmid has excellent segregational stability but the structural stability was not good in the host cell.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
The strain of DG7 isolated from the oilwater sample in DAGANG oilfield could produce surfactant ?acids and gas in the culture medium in which the diesel was sole carbon source .The strain was Gram-negative, motive, rod and growed facultatively in the 0 to 18.5% NaCl. Based on its characters, the strain was identified as a member of the genus Aeromonas, but there were some differences between this strain and the described species of this genus in some biochemical features, suggesting that it could be a new species of the genus.
