Objective To explore the role of the preoperative DSA examination and selected embolization in surgical treatment of intracranial huge meningiomas .Methods The clinical materials of 13 patients was collected and analyzed .Preoperative DSA was carried out in all cases ,10 of 13 underwent selected preoperative embolization ,the meningiomas were totally excised by surgery 4 to 7 days after the embolization .Results After the embolization ,DSA showed that the blood fed to the tumors was completely blocked in 8 cases ,and in great part in 2 cases .All tumors were totally removed ,the bleeding during operation was significantly decreased in patients who underwent preoperative embolization compared to the patients without embolization (P<0 .05) .Necrosis in different degree of meningiomas was found in postoperative pathological examination .There were no severe complications occurred during and after operations in all patients .Conclusion Preoperative selective embolization could significantly decrease the bleeding during operations .

AIM To observe the effects of rhIL 10 on psoriatic models and immune function in mice. METHODS The anti psoriatic effect of rhIL 10 was studied by using the models of vaginal epithelium and tail scales of mouse. ConA induced proliferation and production of IL 2 and IFN ? by T lymphocytes, LPS induced production of IL 1 and TNF ? by the peritoneal macrophages and the activity of NK cells, LPS induced proliferation of B lymphocyte were determined. RESULTS The result showed that rhIL 10 (5, 20 and 80 ?g?kg -1 ?d -1 ,sc) could significantly inhibit the mitosis of vaginal epithelial cells in mice treated with estrogen. No abnormal changes of nucleolus and organelle were found under electronic microscope. rhIL 10 facilitates development of granular cell layers in mice tail scales. There were for 2 to 3 granular cell layers and bigger granular cells in scales under electronic microscope. CONCLUSION The anti psoriatic effect of rhIL 10 is related to inhibiting hyperplasia of epidermal cells and promoting the formation of granular cells and possessing anti inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity.

Diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) is an efficient and noninvasive tool to investigate the characteristics and functions of white matter fiber tracts,and it can be used to study the relationship between the structure and function in the nervous system,the plasticity and damage repair of visual development,abnormalities of the white matters that relate to the visual pathways.Recently,the quantification of white matter fiber tracts from the lateral geniculate bodies to the occipital lobe visual cortex using DTI offers morphological information for the function and structure of the white matters during visual development.Some studies attempt to compare the DTI outcomes and tractography between amblyopic children and normal children so as to better display the variations of optic radiation in children with amblyopia,and to evaluate the relationship between structure and function of the white matters.DTI becomes an important supplementary research approach in these fields.This paper reviews the application of DTI in visual development and amblyopic eyes.

Objective To investigate the peripheral blood Th17 and CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cell levels and their correlations in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC).Methods Peripheral blood samples were collected from 30 PHC patients and 25 healthy controls in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University from June 2008 to May 2009.Mononuclear cells were isolated and the Th17 and CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells were detected by flow cytometry and compared between patients and controls by t test.Spearman test was performed to analyze the correlation of Th17 with CD4 + CD25 +regulatory T cell concentrations.Results The levels of Th17 and CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells in peripheral blood in healthy controls were (2.10 ± 0.87) ％ and (7.10 ± 2.32) ％ ; while those in PHC patients were (3.38±1.68)％ and (11.78±5.62)％ (t=3.640 and 4.162,P＜0.01).The level of Th17 cells was positively associated with that of CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells in PHC patients (r =0.821,P ＜0.01).Conclusion The levels of Th17 and CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells in peripheral blood are high in PHC patients and positively correlated with each other,which indicates that CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells may contribute to the disease progression and pathogenesis of carcinoma through inducing Th17 cells differentiation.
