OBJECTIVETo explore the characters of lung injury induced by tin dusts and to provide the diagnosis evidence of tin pneumoconiosis.
METHODSForty SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: the group exposed to tin dusts from smelting workshop, the group exposed to tin dusts from tin refining workshop, the positive control group exposed to standard quartz dusts and the negative control group exposed to saline. The pathological changes of rat lungs were observed dynamically.
RESULTSIn rats exposed to tin dusts, on the 30th day after exposure to tin dusts, the scattered hoar tip size of the spots in surface and section of the lungs were observed, the scattered focal granulomatous inflammation around the small bronchi and dust particles in lung tissue were observed under microscope; on the 90th day after exposure to tin dusts, the granulomatous inflammation increase, the fibroblasts proliferation, collagen fibers formation and positive VG staining were found. There were significant differences, as compared with positive or negative controls (P < 0.05). These pathological changes were basically the characters of specific pathological changes in early tin pneumoconiosis.
CONCLUSIONNon-ferrous metal tin dusts can induce the specific lung injury (granuloma formation) in lung tissue of rats exposed to tin dusts, which fulfilled the diagnostic criteria of specific pathological changes in early tin pneumoconiosis.

BACKGROUNDAstigmatism is one of the most significant obstacles for achieving satisfactory visual function. This study was to evaluate the influence of astigmatism on contrast sensitivity (CS) and higher-order aberrations.
METHODSCS, accommodation response and wavefront aberration were measured in 113 patients with astigmatism, aged 18 - 36 years. Both single and binocular visual performance were examined under four lighting conditions: photopia, photopia with glare, scotopia and scotopia with glare respectively. Accommodation response was classified as normal, abnormal and low. The contribution of the power and axis of astigmatism to CS, accommodation response and wavefront aberration was analyzed.
RESULTSAs the dioptric power of astigmatism increased, the loss of CS spatial frequency changed from high to intermediate, and then to low frequency. CS scores varied at different illuminance levels, descending in the following sequence: photopia, photopia with glare, scotopia, and scotopia with glare. However, the normal accommodation group showed better CS values under photopia with glare than without glare. The range of influenced direction of sine-wave gratings remained mostly at the meridian line of high dioptric power, which would be expanded when optical accommadation attenuated. The patients with symmetrical astigmatism got higher CS scores with binoculus vision than with dominant eye vision, while the patients with asymmetrical astigmatism did this only at scotopia with glare. Among higher-order aberrations, coma aberration, secondary coma aberration and the total higher order aberration were influenced by astigmatism, all of which rising with the power of astigmatism increased.
CONCLUSIONSReducing astigmatism might improve the performance of visual function. Not only the power of astigmatism should be cut down, but also the binocular axes should be made symmetrically.

Objective To establish a management system to promote early rehabilitation for work injured patients. Methods The 2015 hospitalized patients were set as control group (n=16,635), and the 2016 hospitalized patients were set as observation group (n=15,372). The control group was hospitalized for injury data collection surveys and was not implemented systematic rehabilitation propaganda, rehabilita-tion assessment and rehabilitation guidance. However, the observation group hospitalized after establishment of the Work Injuries Rehabilita-tion Investigation System and accepted work injuries rehabilitation intervention, such as rehabilitation propaganda, rehabilitation assessment and rehabilitation guidance. The changes of hand trauma rehabilitation indicators were compared between two groups. Results The rate of work injuries rehabilitation intervention was 80.6%in the observation group. In the observation group, the proportion of the patients who re-ceived early rehabilitation treatment in the designated hospital (56.8%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (17.0%) (χ2=2603.683, P<0.001);the proportion of injured patients who were admitted to the designated work injuries rehabilitation institutions (9.4%) was higher than that of the control group (4.3%) (χ2=285.906, P<0.001). The proportion of patients evaluated as disability in the observation group (17.4%) was significantly less than that of the control group (26.3%) (χ2=235.327, P<0.001). The disability score was significantly lower in the observation group (6.23±1.29) than in the control group (8.26±1.16) (t=68.371, P<0.001). Conclusion The Work Injuries Reha-bilitation Investigation System can promote the early rehabilitation for the hand trauma patients in the designated hospital for work injuries, improve the proportion of hand trauma patients to enter the designated work injuries rehabilitation institutions to receive rehabilitation treat-ment, reduce the proportion of disabled persons, and reduce the degree of disability, effectively promote the overall recovery of patients with hand trauma.

Evodiamine(EVO)is an indoloquinazoline alkaloid isolated from the fruits of Euodia rutaecarpa, which has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat various diseases.Modern medical research shows that evodiamine has various pharmacological activities and extremely high medicinal value such as anti-inflammation,anti-tumor,losing weight, treating Alzheimer's,and antibacterium.Evodiamine can interact with a variety of proteins. For example, the interaction between evodiamine and TRPV1 induces its activation to exert anti-inflammatory and losing weight; the interaction with DNA topoisomerase I inhibits its function and thus inhibit bacterial proliferation; the interaction with tubulin promotes NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and exerts anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory functions. In recent years, with the in-depth study of evodiamine, pharmacological research and mechanism of evodiamine has significant improvement.Recent progress of pharmacological effect of evodiamine is highlighted in this review.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the risk factors for the development of congenital anal atresia in neonates.
METHODSA total of 70 neonates who were admitted to 17 hospitals in Foshan, China from January 2011 to December 2014 were enrolled as case group, and another 70 neonates who were hospitalized during the same period and had no anal atresia or other severe deformities were enrolled as control group. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to investigate the risk factors for the development of congenital anal atresia.
RESULTSThe univariate analysis revealed that the age of mothers, presence of oral administration of folic acid, infection during early pregnancy, and polyhydramnios, and sex of neonates showed significant differences between the case and control groups (P<0.05). The multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that infection during early pregnancy (OR=18.776) and male neonates (OR=9.304) were risk factors for congenital anal atresia, and oral administration of folic acid during early pregnancy was the protective factor (OR=0.086).
CONCLUSIONSInfection during early pregnancy is the risk factor for congenital anal atresia, and male neonates are more likely to develop congenital anal atresia than female neonates. Supplementation of folic acid during early pregnancy can reduce the risk of congenital anal atresia.

Pyroptosis is a novel process of programmed inflammatory necrosis, which is closely related to microbial infections and autoimmune diseases. In recent years it has been proved that Gasdermin D is an executive protein of pyroptosis. Cleaved Gasdermin D leads to the formation of pores in cell membrane to induce pyroptosis, and the release of inflammatory factors such as IL-1β and IL-18 aggravates the occurrence of inflammatory responses. With the deepening of Gasdermin D research, it is gradually clear its protein structure and activation sites, which has other activation pathways apart from inducing inflammasome activation. Activation of Gasdermin D does not necessarily mean cell death, even if it could induce the formation of pores in cell membrane and regulation of inflammatory cytokine secretion. These findings offer insight into Gasdermin D function and change our understanding of pyroptosis and programmed necrosis. The recent progress of Gasdermin D is highlighted in this review.
