The effects of sodium salicylate on the expression of heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) during oxidative stress in tissue-cultured human lens epithelial cells were investigated. Cultured human lens epithelial cells (HLB-3) were divided into 3 groups: control group (group A), oxidation injury group (group B) and sodium salicylate group (group C). Apoptosis of human lens epithelial cells cultured in vitro was induced in the presence of 150 micromol/L H2O2. Cells viability and the expression of HSP27 were analyzed. Viability of the cells was measured by methyl thiazole tetrazolium (MTF) chromatometry. The expression of HSP27 in HLB-3 cells was detected by using immunohistochemistry and image analysis system. Sodium salicylate could induce the expression of HSP27, and the cells viability in group C was significantly higher than in group B (0.2667+/-0.01414 vs 0.2150+/-0.01080, P=0.012<0.05). The average gray value of HSP27 in group B was less than that in group C (P=0.000<0.05). The increased expression of HSP27 by sodium salicylate might play an important role in the protection of hydrogen peroxide-induced injury of human lens epithelial cells, suggesting that sodium salicylate could suppress, at least in part, the apoptosis of human lens epithelial cells.

Objective To provide evidence for control and prevention of hand-foot-mouth disease(HFMD) ,we analyzed the epi-demiological and viral characteristics of HFMD in Yongchuan district from 2009 to 2012 .Methods We collected the clinical dates of HFMD cases from Diseases Infectious Department of the Yongchuan Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University during 2009 to 2012 ,and analyzed the epidemiological characteristics .Results There were 509 HFMD cases in recruitment ,including 2 se-vere cases(one was dead) .The peak incidence of HFMD occurred from May to July annually .Between 2011 and 2012 ,there was an-other peak incidence ,which occurred from November to December .Most of the patients were under 5 years-old .The number of male cases was larger than that of the female .The number of scattered children cases was larger than that of the nursery children .More cases were reported in rural area than in urban area .Coxsackie virus A16(Cox A16) and other enteroviruses were the predominant strains of HFMD ,however enterovirus 71(EV71) infected cases increased sharply between 2011and 2012 .Enterovirus 71(EV71) inflection is the main cause of severe and death of HFMD .Conclusion The prevalence of HFMD in Yongchuan district had signifi-cant seasonal ,sex and age-specific ,regional differences and etiological characteristics .It was very important to make practical man-agements to prevent occurrence of HFMD according to these epidemiological characteristics .

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of three dimensional (3D) laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) in the treatment of obesity combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods The retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted.The clinical data of 28 patients with obesity combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were admitted to the Qinghai Red Cross Hospital between January 2013 and April 2016 were collected.All the patients underwent 3D LSG.Observation indicators:(1) surgical and postoperative recovery situations;(2) follow-up and metabolic indexes changes.Follow-up using outpatient examination and telephone interview was performed to detect complications of patients after discharge and usages of antidiabetic drugs or insulin up to February 2017.Body mass,body mass index (BMI),hemoglobin (Hb),albumin (Alb),fasting serum C-peptide,fasting blood sugar,2-hours postprandial blood glucose (2HPBG) and glycosylated hemoglobin (GHb) were detected at month 1,3,6 and 12 postoperatively.Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as (x)±s.Repeated measurement data were analyzed by the repeated measures ANOVA.Count data were evaluated by the proportion.Results (1) Surgical and postoperative recovery situations:28 patients underwent successful 3D LSG,without conversion to open surgery.Operation time,volume of intraoperative blood loss,time of postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery and time of postoperative drainage tube removal were (133 ± 20) minutes,(45 ± 22) mL,(2.5 ± 1.2) days and (3.4 ± 0.9) days,respectively.There were no postoperative complications and perioperative death.Duration of hospital stay was (7.1 ± 1.5) days.(2) Follow-up and metabolic indexes changes:28 patients were followed up for 6-12 months,with a median time of 8 months.During the follow-up,there was no death or severe complications.Body mass,BMI,Hb,Alb,fasting serum C-peptide,fasting blood sugar,2HPBG and GHb from pre-operation to month 1,3,6 and 12 post-operatively were decreased from (113±26) kg to (78± 14) kg,from (44±6) kg/m2 to (35±5) kg/m2,from (157±19) g/L to (140±13) g/L,from (43±5)g/L to (40±4)g/L,from (2.50±0.37) μg/L to (1.20±0.33) μg/L,from (10.5±2.0)mmol/L to (5.6±0.5)mmol/L,from (16.3±3.1)mmol/L to (7.9±0.9) mmol/L,from 9.2％± 0.9％ to 6.8％ ±0.6％ with statistically significant differences between preoperative and postoperative indicators (F=396.47,328.20,111.10,21.28,161.06,127.80,243.40,234.64,P＜0.05),and showing a downward trend.Of 28 patients,25 had complete remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus at 12 months postoperatively and 3 had partial remission,with an effective rate of 100.0％ (28/28).The excess weight loss was 63％± 16％.Conclusion 3D LSG is safe and effective in the treatment of obesity combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus,with a good shortterm outcome.

Objective To explore the effect of pulse irrigation combined with autologous blood transfusion on inflammatory markers and thrombosis index, such as C-reactive protein (CPR), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. Methods 96 patients due to knee osteoarthritis underwent unilateral total knee arthroplasty were randomly divided into experimental group (pulse irrigation combined with autologous blood transfusion after surgery ) and control group (alone autologous blood transfusion after surgery), PT, APTT, TNF-α, IL-6, D-Dimer of two groups at different time points were detected and compared. All patients underwent lower extremity vascular ultrasound examination after operation. Results PT, APTT values were no significant different between two groups (P > 0.05), TNF-α, IL-6 values of day1 and day7 after surgery in the experimental group were lower than the control group(P < 0.05), D-Dimer values of day4 after surgery were lower than the control group (P <0.05), the incidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the experimental group was lower than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Pulse irrigation combined with postoperative autologous blood transfusion in total knee arthroplasty had no influence in blood coagulation , and can reduce inflammation and the incidence of DVT than alone autologous blood transfusion,thus is beneficial to the patient recover.

Resident standardization training is a major part of education of medical students after graduation , and is extremely important for high-level physician training and raising the quality of medical treatment. We trained the residents comprehensively according to the characteristics of echocardiography in terms of theoretical knowledge, clinical manipulative skills, clinical thinking ability, scientific research ability and communication and team cooperation ability, and carried out the relative examination according to the training. On the basis of practice, we explored the establishment of a standardized training mode and evaluation system suitable for echocardiography resident doctors in China.

Objective To understand epidemic data and provide evidence for prevention and control of infectious diseases in Yongchuan area .Methods We collected the clinical materials of patients hospitalized during January 2008 to December 2012 ,and retrospectively analyzed the spectrum ,classification and epidemic tendency of infectious diseases in a hospital .Results A total of 4 632 patients were admitted to the department of infectious disease .The top two diseases were always hepatitis B virus infection related diseases and tuberculosis .Fatality mainly also appeared in end-stage liver diseases and tuberculosis .Morbidity of measles and mumps increased obviously in recent years .Hand-foot-mouth disease and influenza A(H1N1) were epidemic in this area .Conclusion The main infectious diseases in Yongchuan area are hepatitis B virus infection related diseases and tuberculosis ,which still are the important points for control and prevention .Also we should strengthen prevention of other infectious diseases such as hand-foot-mouth disease ,H1N1 and the mumps in order to decrease the occurrence of these infectious diseases .

The somatostatin analogue pasireotide is a new type of protein which is the first therapeutic agent targeted to the pituitary.Pasireotide can prevent adrenocorticotropic hormone release and inhibit the growth of tumor cells after coupling with somatostatin receptor of the target cell membranes.Pasireotide has a high binding affinity for most of somatostatin receptor (SSTR) subtypes and in particular for SSTR5.Pasireotide can paly an important role in the new round of new targets for individualized diagnosis and treatment of tumors through the studies of translational medicine.

BACKGROUND:Rheumatoid arthritis is a common chronic systemic autoimmune disease which is characterized by synovial lesions and bone erosion. The clinical treatment is stil a difficulty.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on the articular lesions in rheumatoid arthritis rats.
METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups:control group, model group, high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide intervention group, low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide intervention group. At 2 and 4 weeks after intervention, the arthritis index, levels of serum inflammatory cytokines (tumor necrotic factor-αand interleukin-1β), pathological change of synovial tissue, average absorbance of knee joint specimens using col agen-II immunohistochemical staining were measured.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The arthritis index, levels of serum inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory infiltration of synovial staining in the model group and two intervention groups were higher than that in control group, the high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide intervention group was significantly higher than the model group (P<0.05) while the low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide intervention group was lower than the model group (P<0.05). The average absorbance of knee cartilage specimens using col agen-II immunohistochemical staining was lower in the model group and two hydrogen sulfide intervention groups compared with the control group, the high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide intervention group was significantly lower than the model group (P<0.05) while low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide intervention group was higher than the model group (P<0.05). Hydrogen sulfide has a regulatory effect on rheumatoid arthritis, high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide aggravate arthritis and cartilage degradation, low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide reduce arthritis and protect cartilage.
