OBJECTIVETo evaluate the impacts on the short-term efficacy and the long-term prevention of recurrence of allergic rhinitis treated with the triple-strong stimulation at Dazhui (GV 14) so as to provide the convenient and long-term effective therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion for allergic rhinitis.
METHODSOne hundred and twenty cases of allergic rhinitis were randomized into an acupuncture group, an acupuncture + medication group and a triple-strong stimulation group, 40 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was applied at Dazhui (GV 14), Fengchi (GB 20), Baihui (GV 20), Yintang (GV 29) and the others, stimulating with reinforcing manipulation for the deficiency and reducing manipulation for the excess, once every day. In the acupuncture + medication group, on the basis of acupuncture therapy, claritin (loratadine tablets) was supplemented for oral administration, 10 mg, once every two days, continuously for 30 days. In the triple-strong stimulation group, on the basis of acupuncture therapy, the strong needling, strong cupping and strong moxibustion were applied at Dazhui (GV 14). This combined therapy was given once every day in the first 3 days and once every two days afterwards. The 10 day treatment made one session, at the interval of 3 days between the sessions and totally 3 sessions were required in the three groups. Separately, before treatment, after treatment and in 6 months after treatment, the changes of symptom and physical sign score and value of single item symptom including nasal itching, nasal blockage, sneezing and rhinorrhea were observed in the patients of the three groups. And the long-term clinical efficacy was compared among the three groups.
RESULTSThe symptom and physical sign score and the value of single item symptom were all reduced in the three groups after treatment and in 6 months after treatment (P < 0.001, P < 0.01, P < 0.05). The results in the triple-strong stimulation group were superior to the other two groups (all P < 0.05). In the triple-strong stimulation group, the total effective rate was 92.5% (36/40) in the follow-up of 6 months after treatment, which was better than 60.5% (23/38) in the acupuncture group and 69.2% (27/39) in the acupuncture + medication group (both P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe combined therapy of acupuncture and the triple-strong stimulation at Dazhui (GV 14) achieves the reliable and effective result in the clinical treatment of allergic rhinitis and displays the good role on the prevention from long-term recurrence.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(1):41-42
ObjectiveTo determine the source of IL-6 in detached retina and the change of IL-6 level in detached and reattached retina.MethodsRetinas of SD rat were examined after subretinal injection of 1.4% Healon GV at different period of time, and the level of IL-6 in detached and reattached retina were detected by radio-immune histochemistry method. Wax-embeded sections were labeled with IL-6 antibody to determine the location of IL-6.ResultsDetached retina with normal vitreous and inner limiting membrane could only induce the subretinal fibrosis. This kind of fibrosis reached to its peak at 10th day and then remolded with time. Retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell, Muller cell, endothelial cell, glial cell were labled with IL-6, and the level of IL-6 in neuro-retina reached to its peak at 3rd-4th day and then downed to normal within a few days. The level of IL-6 in reattached retina was lower than in detached retina. The expression of IL-6 in RPE of detached area was stronger than in attached area.ConclusionIL-6 takes active part in wound healing process induced by the separation of RPE and neuro-retina. Reattachment can lower the expression of IL-6 in retina.

ObjectiveTo investigate the possible effect of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)in experimental retinal detachment, and the role in proliferation.MethodsThe experimental retinal detachment and reattachment in different time were made using Sprague-Dawley rats. The expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in neuro-retina was tested with flow cytometry at different time. IL-1β in neuro-retina were analyzed by labeling with polyclonal IL-1β antibody. The level of IL-1β in neuro-retina were tested with radio-immune method. IL-1β antibody 1000 ng,IL-1Ra 20 ng were injected in the subretinal space of some rats before PCNA reached to its high point respectively, and the expression of PCNA of them were compared with that of control which were injected with 0.01 M PBS.ResultsIL-1β expressed in Muller cell, astrocyte, vascular endothelial cell in neuro-retina and reached to its peak at the 7th day after detachment, then declined and continued at a low level as long as the retina detached. The expression of PCNA began at the second day after detachment, and reached a maximum at about 10 days after, then declined and continued at a low level as long as the retina detached. IL-1βantibody and IL-1Ra could restrain the expression of PCNA.ConclusionProinflammatory cytokine IL-1β is the key factor in proliferation of experimental retinal detachment.

Objective:To investigate the changes of calcitonin gene-related peptide immunoreactive (CGRP-IR)nerve fibers in rat dental pulps during acute inflammation. Methods: Rat acute pulpitis model was established by silk thread ligation and the change of CGRP-IR nerve fibers was observed with immunohistochemical method. Results: In radical pulp, the CGRP-IR nerve fibers became denser and more heavily stained;in the coronal pulp, the number of CGRP-IR nerve fibers decreased, but the background staining was heavier. Conclusion: During acute inflammation, the amount of CGRP increases in dental pulps, and is released into the surronding tissue in a large scale in the coronal region.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2015;31(3):181-184
OJECTIVE:
To explore the changes of serum IgE and tryptase caused by anaphylactic shock rats and discuss the relation to PMI and preservative environment of corpse and specimen.
METHODS:
Rats were used for establishing anaphylactic shock models and randomly divided into room temperature group, refrigeration group, frozen group, manual hemolysis group, specimen preservation group. And the control group was also established. The blood samples were collected after rats were sacrificed. The degree of hemolysis was graded according to the color of the upper layer of the serum. The mass concentration of IgE and tryptase in each group was detected by ELISA.
RESULTS:
The levels of serum IgE and tryptase in anaphylactic shock dead rats were higher than that of the control group. Room temperature and frozen made obviously differences on the levels of serum IgE and tryptase with various PMI. The levels of serum IgE and tryptase in refrigeration group showed relatively stable. The levels of serum tryptase and IgE were elevated with differently increasing hemolysis. The levels of serum IgE and tryptase showed no obvious changes during the specimen kept under different temperature conditions for 25 days.
CONCLUSION
Serum IgE and tryptase obviously increased in anaphylactic shock rats. However, the levels were influenced by PMI and environmental temperature, especially under the conditions of room temperature and frozen.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;22(1):21-23
Objective: To investigate the circadian ryhthm v ariation of 2-125I-iodomelatonin (125I-Mel) binding sites in the human peripheral leukocytes in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods: Melatonin binding sites in the human peripheral leukocytes were studied using 125 I-Mel as a radioligand (radioligand binding assays).A ll patients [age: (70.18±11.70) years] were diagnosed by CT according to the standard [Chin J Nerv, 1996,29(6):379]. We also studied 15 age-match ed healthy old people as the control [age: (68.33±7.76) years]. Resul ts: The circadian ryhthm variation of 125 I-Mel specific binding in control remained significant (P<0.01) with a higher value at midlight [ (0.16±0.049) fmol/106] than at middark [(0.078±0.035) fmol/106] with one point analysis. There was no significant variation in the patient grou p (P>0.05). The specific binding in the peripheral leukocytes at midlight in the patients with acute cerebral infarction were lower than that of the control . Conclusion: The expression of Mel receptor decreases in the pa tients wit h acute cerebral infarction and the circadian ryhthm variation of 2-125I -Mel appears abnormal.
