Based on the counting results from nutrition agar in our study, and compared with another two kinds of coliform bacteria detective plates for dinner and drinking sets which were provided by two manufactures and inspected by China National Health Bureau , we accomplished the detectability test of the Huankai coliform bacteria plates. In our study, 3kinds of cell density were adopted: 10cells/mL, 50cells/mL and 100cells/mL . The results shew that the detectability of Huankai plates basically conformed with that of nutrition agar , and was no evident difference from that of another two kinds of plates. The conclusions were that Huankai plates can completely be used in the inspection and test for conform bacteria.

X-Ray tube is the core part of CT machines and its service life is closely tied to its quality,installation & adjustments and the status of the equipment itself.Besides,whether the operaters use the equipment correctly or not also influence the life of X-ray tubes.The author summarizes some methods for extending the life of CT tubes according to the experiences of installation,adjustment and using of the CT tubes for many years.

Objective To develop psychosocial skills training module for schizophrenic outpatients.Methods Structured psychosocial skills training program, which were made according to community rehabilitation plan for schizophrenia, featured convenience and well operability. Subjects were 96 of 204 schizorenic outpatients in remission who were randomly assigned to receive psychosocial skills training combined medicine(observation group) or medicine only(control group) and followed up by 24 months. The changes during treatment were evaluated by positive and negative syndrome scale(PANSS), Social Disability Screening Schedule(SDSS) and patients' cognition function were also evaluated longitudinally. Results Relapse rate of control group (37%) is higer than observation group (17.7%, P＜0.01). After Last Observation Carried Forward(LOCF), control group showed higer scores than observation group on positive syndrome (8.34±2.04 vs 7.66±0.97), negative syndrome(9.15±1.97 vs 813±1.15), total score (37.64±5.58 vs 34.79±3.64) and Social disability (2.81±1.90 vs 2.07±1.47) (P＜0.01); observation group also showed a significant progress on cognition function(P＜0.05). Conclusion This trial demonstrated the efficacy of the easy-operating structured psychosocial skill training grogram in preventing relapse and improving social adoptive function for schizophrenia.

OBJECTIVEOver the last few decades, diabetic cardiomyopathy has been identified as a significant contributor in cardiac morbidity. However, the mechanisms of diabetic cardiomyopathy have not been clarified.

METHODSIn the present study, a diabetic rat model was induced by the intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. The myocardial CD147 expression and extent of glycosylation, as well as thematrixmetalloproteinases(MMPs) expression and activity, were observed in the diabetic and synchronous rats.

RESULTSThe results showed that CD147 located on sarcolemma of cardiomyocytes. The myocardial CD147 expression and glycosylation were significantly increased in the diabetic rats as compared with the control. Expression of MMP-2 protein, MMP-2 and MMP-9 activity were also increased in left ventricular myocardium in the diabetic rats. Tamoxifen only inhibited the enhanced expression of myocardial CD147 in the diabetic rats, but not in synchronous control rats. Tamoxifen inhibited glycosylation of myocardial CD147 in both diabetic and control rats. The inhibition of tamoxifen on CD147 glycosylation was stronger than on the expression in the myocardium. The extent of myocardial CD147glycosylation was positively related toMMP-2 and MMP-9 activity. Tamoxifen induced an inhibition of myocardial MMP-2 and MMP-9 activity in the control and diabetic rats.

CONCLUSIONThese results indicate that myocardial CD147 expression, especially the extent of glycosylation, regulates MMP-2 and MMP-9 activity, then accelerates cardiac pathological remodeling inducing diabetic cardiomyopathy. Tamoxifen inhibits myocardial CD147 glycosylation and further depress the activity of MMPs. Therefore, tamoxifen may protect the diabetic rats against diabetic myocardium.

AIM: To investigate the different effects of salvianolic acid and notoginseng triterpenes on proliferation, angiogenesis and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in EA-hy926 cells in vitro. METHODS: EA-hy926 cells were cultured in vitro. Salvianolic acid and notoginseng triterpenes at concentrations of 0.4, 0.8 and 1.2 mg·L(-1) were used to culture EA-hy926 cells. EA-hy926 cells in a blank control group were grown in culture solution only. Viability of cells was assessed by CCK-8, and after treated for 12 h, capillary-like structures were examined. After 24 h culture, the expression of VEGF was detected by real-time PCR. RESULTS: Salvianolic acid at 0.4, 0.8 mg·L(-1), the same as notoginseng triterpenes, increased VEGF content in EA-hy926 cells. Expression of VEGF protein in the salvianolic acid at 1.2 mg·L(-1) group, was up-regulated as compared with notoginseng triterpenes group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Salvianolic acid and notoginseng triterpenes can promote EA-hy926 cell proliferation, angiogenesis and expression of VEGF protein. This analysis also provided evidence that salvianolic acid had the better effects as compared with notoginseng triterpenes.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of focused ultrasound for patients with white lesions of the vulva,as well as its safety and feasibility.Methods Clinical data of 941 patients with white lesions of the vulva treated with focused ultrasound from June 2003 to December 2005 were retrospectively reviewed.The mean age of the patients was 40.8 years(18-70 years)and the median course of the disease was 6.2 years(3 months-45 years).Meanwhile,pathological diagnosis was performed in all the patients before treatment,in which 498 cases were squamous hyperplasia,342 cases were lichen sclerosus and 101 cases were lichen sclerosus with squamous hyperplasia.Patients were followed up and therapeutic effects of focused ultrasound was evaluated at 6 and 12 months after the treatment,respectively.The symptoms of pruritus in the vulva and the changes in the color and elasticity of the vulvar lesions were observed.Results Of all the patients,900 were followed up after the treatment,and the ratio of effectiveness was 94.9%.Only 46 patients(5.1%)had no response to the therapy.Of the effective patients,434 cases were completely cured(48.2%),and 420 cases were improved(46.7%).Pruritus of vulva recurred in 101 patients (11.2%)one year after treatment;however,these patients still had a response to the second or third treatment.Conclusions Focused ultrasound therapy is a highly effective instrument in treatment of white lesions of the vulva.It can not only relieve the symptoms of itching,but is also helpful in recovering the color and elasticity of the vulva.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the characteristics and influencing factors of high-risk factors and adverse outcomes of pregnancy in different occupational populations in a medical college community. METHODS: A total of 719 pregnant women in a medical college community were selected by convenient sampling method and divided into medical staff group(218 women) and non-medical staff group(501 women, including 138 teaching staff subgroup, 129 administrative service staff subgroup and 234 other occupation subgroup). The detection rate of high-risk factors and adverse outcomes of pregnancy were compared among these groups. RESULTS: Among the study subjects with the top five detection rates, high-risk factors of pregnancy were abnormal body mass index, advanced age, diabetes mellitus, scarred uterus and abnormal thyroid function, with the detection rate of 21.4%, 17.5%, 9.7%, 7.5% and 7.5%, respectively. The detection rates of pregnancy high-risk factors≥two, adverse pregnancy outcome, adverse fetal outcome, miscarriage and low birth weight in the medical group were significantly lower than those in the non-medical staff group(all P<0.05). The detection rates of pregnancy risk factors, primary screening risk factors, scarred uterus and pregnancy anemia in the teaching staff subgroup were significantly higher than those in the other occupation subgroups(all P<0.008). The detection rates of pregnancy high-risk factors ≥two and advanced age in the teaching staff subgroup were higher than those in medical staff group(all P<0.008). The detection rates of adverse pregnancy outcome and miscarriage in the administrative service staff subgroup were higher than those in medical staff group(all P<0.008). Multivariate logistic regression analysis results showed that occupation, advanced age, parity and scarred uterus were the main influencing factors of adverse pregnancy outcome(all P<0.05). CONCLUSION: There are differences in pregnancy high-risk factors and adverse pregnancy outcomes among different occupational groups. The teaching staff subgroup has a relatively higher detection rate of pregnancy high-risk factors, and the adverse pregnancy outcomes and miscarriage were relatively higher in the administrative service staff subgroup, compared with the medical staff group.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of enteral drip infusion with modified Baitouweng Decoction for the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC) with damp heat in large intestine at active phase , and to observe its influence on serum levels of inflammatory factors. Methods Sixty patients suffering from mild to moderate UC with damp heat in the large intestine were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was given enteral drip infusion with modified Baitouweng Decoction and the control group was given Mesalazine Enemas enema. The medication lasted for 8 continuous weeks. Before and after treatment, the scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes and intestinal mucosal signs under enteroscopy, and serum levels of inflammatory factors were observed. Therapeutic effect on single TCM syndrome and clinical safety were also evaluated after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of each TCM syndrome and intestinal mucosal signs under enteroscopy in the treatment group were much improved (P<0.05 compared with those in the control group); serum interleukin-8 (IL-8) and tumor necrosis factor beta (TNF-β) levels in both groups were decreased, serum IL-10 and IL-13 levels were increased (P <0.05 compared with those before treatment), and the effect in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (P < 0.05). Except for the abdominal pain, the treatment group had better effect on relieving diarrhea, anal expansion, tenesmus, mucous stool and bloody purulent stool than the control group, the difference being statistically significant (P < 0.05). During the medication, no obvious adverse reaction was found in the treatment group, but 4 cases from the control group had anal burning sensation which had no effect on the mediciation. Conclusion Enteral drip infusion with modified Baitouweng Decoction can inhibit the release of proinflammatory cytokines, reduce the inflammatory response, and promote the healing of intestinal mucosa, which is effective for the treatment of UC with damp heat in large intestine at active phase.

OBJECTIVETo reconstruct a penis with sensation and erectile function maintained by corpora cavernosa lengthening and skin flap transferring in the penis defect cases.

METHODSThe procedure was based on the use of releasing the suspensory ligaments and part of crus, various flaps were designed as coverage material. Penis residual stump was advanced to anterior portion of the newly reconstruction penile body as "glans".

RESULTS40 patients with penis defect have been operated by the above methods. In the cases, length of the penis varied from 0.5-4.0 cm in the flaccid, 1.5-5.0 cm in erect state before operation. And after operation, it turned to 5.0-8.5 cm in the flaccid, 7.0-12.5 cm in erect state. Most of the patients recovered gross tactile sensation and had satisfactory erectile function.

CONCLUSIONWith this method, the reconstructed penis tends to have a better appearance and function. It's a more optimal method compared with the conventional operation.
