ObjectiveTo determine the effect of telmisartan on the levels of serum adiponectin and C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)in elderly hypertensive patients with unstable angina pectoris. MethodsOne hundred and twenty elderly hypertensive patients with unstable angina pectoris were randomized into two groups, telmisartan(n=60) and perindopril(n=60) groups.The levels of hs-CRP,adiponectin, lipid factors, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), insulin and insulin sensitivity index (ISI) were measured before and 6 months after telmisartan and perindopril treatments.ResultsAt the end of 6 months, the telmisartan group showed more reduction in plasma levels of hs-CRP and more increment in serum adiponectin concentrations and ISI significantly. The frequency of cardiovascular events was significantly lower in the patients of the telmisartan group than that of the perindopril group.ConclusionsCompared with perindopril, telmisartan significantly decreases plasma levels of hs-CRP and increases serum adiponectin concentrations in elderly hypertensive patients with unstable angina pectoris. It also significantly decreases the frequency of cardiovascular events in these patients.

Objective To explore a feasible and effective method of purse-string suture and traction in proce- dures for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH)with circular stapler.Methods Width of resected mucosal band and ex- tent of residual hemorrhoid mucosal lifting were compared between two groups of patients with hemorrhoids receiv- ing PPH with“two-point retraction”method(group one,110 cases)and other retraction methods(group two,40 cas- es).Results For group one of 110 cases with“two-point retraetion”,resected mucosal band of all cases were intact and and average width ranged from 3.5 to 5cm.There was a completely residual hemorrhoid mucosal lifting(com- plete return of prolapsed hemorrhoid into the anal canal)in 100 cases of group one(91%).But in group two with other retraction methods,average width of resected mucosal bands ranged from 0.2 to 3.5cm and there was an in- complete band in 10 cases(25%).The rate of mucosal lifting in this group was only 62.5%(19/40).Conclusion Two-point retraction is a feasible,effective and simple method in PPH,resulting in an intact resected mucosal band and sufficient hemorrhoid mucosal lifting.So the two-point retraction PPH is worth to be extended for application.

AIM:To optimize formulation of Xiao'er Magan Orally Disintegrating Tablet by central composite design-response surface methodology. METHODS:By two factors and five levels central composite design,independent variables were the proportion of optimized microcrystalline cellulose 50 and mannitol and the pressure,while disintegrating time and tensile strength were dependent variables. Binary linear and quadratic models were used to estimate the relationship between the dependent and the indepedent variables,and to delineate response surface method and overlay contour plots in order to select the optimal formulations. RESULTS:The binomial regression equation were TS =0. 096 88X1 + 0. 027 6X1X2(r = 0. 759),DT = 9. 845 4X1 -63. 196X2 + 40. 092 9X22 (r = 0. 838) which indicated the quantitative relationship between the factors and the evaluation indexes was characterized. The optimal formulation were the ratio of microcrystalline cellulose 50 and mannitol in the range of 0. 35 and 0. 6,and the pressure was in the range of 6 and 8 KN. CONCLUSION:The optimized formulation validation is close to the estimated value,indicating that the method has a good predictability and reliability.

Objective:To investigate the polymorphism of HLA-DQA1 genes in Jing nationality of Central Vietnam.Methods:Applied PCR-SSP tecnique to determine the polymorphism of the HLA-DQA1 alleles of 105 healthy children and youth,unrelated individuals in Central of Vietnam.Results:10 HLA-DQA1 alleles were detected of which DQA1*0104 were the most common allele with frequency of 21.3% and lowest frequency is DQA1*0601.Conclusion:The results indicate that HLA-DQA1 alleles polymorphism of Jing nationality in Central Vietnam is different from the other Chinese. Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Ba-pulling and Qian-traction manipulation with neck suspension and movement for acute cervical radiculopathy. Methods: A total of 85 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomized into an observation group and a control group by random numbers, with 43 cases in the observation group and 42 cases in the control group. The observation group was treated with Ba-pulling and Qian-traction manipulation with neck suspension and movement;while the control group was treated with Bashen-pulling and stretching manipulation in a supine position. The treatment was performed once a day, 10 times as a treatment course. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after 1 treatment course, and the changes in the scores of visual analog scale (VAS) and neck disability index (NDI) were observed. Results: The total effective rate was 97.7% in the observation group, and 83.3% in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P＜0.05). After treatment, the VAS and NDI scores of both groups were significantly decreased (both P＜0.01), and the differences in the VAS and NDI scores between the two groups were statistically significant (both P＜0.01). Conclusion: Both Ba-pulling and Qian-traction manipulation with neck suspension and movement and Bashen-pulling and stretching manipulation in a supine position can relieve pain and improve cervical function in patients with acute cervical radiculopathy, and Ba-pulling and Qian-traction manipulation with neck suspension and movement can produce more significant efficacy than Bashen-pulling and stretching manipulation in a supine position.
