Background Trachoma is a common infectious eye disease, and its incidence is associated with region, economy and sanitary condition. To survey the prevalence status of an area is very important for the prevention and treatment of trachoma. Objective Aim of this study was to survey the prevalence of trachoma in primary and secondary school students of Chifeng Keshiketengqi, and to investigate the relationship between the prevalence of trachoma with age, gender, ethnicity and living environment. Methods This was a cross-sectional study.According to cluster random sampling method,2067 students were drawn from 10 primary and secondary schools, including 1061male and 1006 female. The age of students ranged from 6 to 17 years old, with the average age (12.53 ± 2.31)years.In the taken samples,Han students were 1768,and Mongolian students were 299;the agricultural and pastoral students were 1209,and the urban students were 858.The general life factors associated with trachoma were surveyed by questionnaire.Trachoma was diagnosed and graded based to 1987 WHO Simplified Trachoma Grading Standards.Eye examinations included visual inspection, eyelids, conjunctiva and cornea neovascularization under the slit lamp microscope, and the clinical data were recorded and collected. The results were statistically analyzed by SPSS13.0 software. Results According to the sampling proportion of 10.05%,2153 students were included and 2067 students participated in this study with the response rate 96%.Trachoma was diagnosed in 972 students with a morbidity 47.0%.The prevalence rate of trachoma was increased with the ageing, and a statistically significant difference was seen among the 6-8 years group,9-11 years group,12-14 years group and 15-17 years group (x2 =11.043,P =0.011),and the prevalence of trachomatous infiltration was significantly higher than that of trachomatous folliele (x2=11.493,P<0.05).The prevalence rate of trachoma in Han and Mongolian students was 45.8% and 54.5%,showing a significant difference between them (x2 =6.228,P =0.013).In addition, statistically significant differences also were found in the prevalence rate of trachoma between the pastoral areas students and urban students (56.1% vs.39.7%,x2=30.226,P =0.000),but no significant difference was seen between male and female (47.0% vs.46.9%,x2 =0.000,P =0.995).Conclusions The trachoma prevalence rate is relatively higher in the primary and secondary students in Chifeng Keshiketeng. These results offer a basis for the prevention and treatment of trachoma.

Objective To dynamically observe the concentrations of plasma neuropeptide Y(NPY)in the patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans(ASO)before and after vascular interventional therapy. Methods The levels of plasma NPY were detected by radioimmunoassay in 13 patients with lower extremity ASO(ASO group)before vascular intracavitary therapy and immediately,1 d,3 d and 5 d after vascular intracavitary therapy.Meanwhile,15 healthy subjects were served as control group.Besides, the ankle-brachial indexes(ABI)and clinical staging of ASO group were also obtained and compared before and 3 d after vascular intracavitary therapy. Results Compared with control group, the level of NPY in ASO group was much higher before vascular intracavitary therapy[(250.67?88.27)pg/mL vs(168.40?64.64)pg/mL,P

Objective To investigate the expressions of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA in patients with non-small cell lung cancer, and to investigate the correlation between the above-mentioned indexes and patients′ prognosis. Methods A total of 65 patients with non-small cell lung cancer admitted to the third People′s Hospital in Liaocheng City were selected and were served as study objects.Immunohistochemical staining(S-P) method was used to detect the expression of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA in tissues to analyze the difference of expression between different pathological parameters. And 65 patients were followed up after the operation to compare the survival time of patients in the negative expression group and the positive expression group, and to analyze the correlation between ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA and the prognosis of the disease. Results Among the 65 cases of patients,47 cases were positive for ALCAM with the positive rate of 72.3%,34 cases were positive for IL-17RA with the positive rate of 52.3%;31 cases were positive for PIK3CA with the positive rate of 47.7%.There was significant difference in the expression of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA in patients with different pathological types,TNM staging and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).There was no significant statistical difference in the expression of patients with different genders and ages(P>0.05).The median survival time of patients with positive results of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA were lower than those of negative group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA increased in non-small cell lung cancer tissues to remind the higher degree of malignancy and poor prognosis.

Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of coronary artery bypass grafting through descending thoracic aorta in elderly patients with coronary heast disease and to decrease the post-operative complication. Methods Thirteen elderly patients underwent coronary bypass surgery with minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB).Age range from 70 to 82 years with a mean of(72.1?6.0)years.Patients suffered from multi vessel disease. Many minimally invasive techniques of“Y”blood vessel graft anastomosis, anastomosis of blood vessel graft to descending aorta, minimally invasive direct, thoracoscope assist were used. Results All patients were survived. The mean duration of intubation was (6.9?0.9) hours. The average ICU stay was (2.5?0.5)days.No patients received blood transfusion.During the short-term follow-up(3 to 14 months) patients had no complaint of angina,Conclusions The technique of“Y”blood vessel graft anastomosis, descending aorta blood vessel graft, minimally invasive direct and thoracoscope assist in combination with coronary artery bypass grafting is a safe and cost-effective new procedure for elderly patients with multi-coronary artery disease.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the efficacy and safety of etanercept plus Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycoside (TWP) in elderly patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
METHODSTotally 46 elderly patients with active RA were randomly assigned to the treatment group (22 cases) and the control group (24 cases). All patients received subcutaneous injection of etanercept, 25 mg each time, twice per week. The dosage was reduced to once per week 3 months later. Patients in the treatment group took TWP Tablet (10 mg each time, three times per day), while those in the control group took methotrexate (MTX), 10 mg each time, once per week. The whole course lasted for 24 weeks. Patients' rest pain, tender joint number, swollen joint number, health assessment questionnaire (HAQ), patients' global assessment, physicians' global assessment, erythrocyte sediment rate (ESR), C reactive protein (CRP), rheumatic factor were assessed at week 0, 4, 8, 12, and 24. The curative effect was statistically evaluated by the United States Institute of Rheumatology ACR20, ACR50, and ACR70 improvement criteria. Meanwhile, any adverse event was recorded and evaluated.
RESULTSTotally 41 completed the trial, and 5 dropped off (3 in the treatment group and 2 in the control group). Compared with the control group, there was no statistical difference in ACR20, ACR50, or ACR70 in the treatment group (P > 0.05). Compared with before treatment in the same group, there was some improvement in tender joint number, swollen joint number, visual analogue scale (VAS) for patients' global assessment, VAS for physicians' global assessment, ESR, CRP, and HAQ between the two groups, showing statistical difference (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group in the same phase, there was no statistical difference in the treatment group (P > 0.05). There was no statistical difference in the occurrence of adverse events between the two groups.
CONCLUSIONSEtanercept plus TWP could achieve equivalent therapeutic effect to that of Etanercept plus MTX. The two regimens could improve clinical signs, symptoms, and QOL related to RA. They were well tolerated in the treatment of elderly patients with active RA.
