1.Discussion on advantages and disadvantages of frequent cervical regulating manipulation from spinal biomechanics
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(08):-
Cervical regulating manipulation is based on the extrinsic active system and intrinsic support system. Only when the former system is relaxed, can the motive force of regulating manipulation reach the latter system to extend the vertebral discs and regulate the posterior joints. Frequent cervical regulating manipulation can stretch soft tissue around the joint and enlarge activity of joint and make it soft from subjective views, but it isn’t proved by experiment. From the aspect of spinal biomechanics, cervical regulating manipulation has advantages and disadvantages, so it should be used according to certain standard, or it will cut down the self-regulation activity of spinal biomechanics.

3. Determination of droplet size of propofol fat emulsion injection
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2014;49(4):338-343
OBJECTIVE: To establish a method to determine the droplet size of propofol fat emulison injection for quality control. METHODS: Coulter counting and light diffraction were employed respectively to determine the droplet size of Diprivan® and Lipuro®, and the two methods were compared for their advantages and disadvantages. The optimal determining condition was built through investigating the influence of concentration. Demulsification was carried out by adding electrolyte, then several parameters were measured. According to the results, the optimal condition and the key parameter for determination of the droplet size were established. RESULTS: The optimal concentrations for droplet size determination by coulter counting were 15 μg · mL-1 for Diprivan® and 6 μg · mL-1 for Lipuro®, respectively. Coulter counting method could not provide the whole size distritbution of the emulsion, but could monitor the large droplets in the injection. Additionally, the change of the quality of the emulsion could be monitored by measuring the portion of the droplets larger than 0.6 μm. Light diffraction could offer the whole size distribution and the mean size of the emulsion. But it was not sensitive to measure large droplets in trace amount. And the detection results could not reflect the change when the emulsion was destructed. CONCLUSION: The quality of propofol fat emulsion can be effectively controlled by determining the key parameters with coulter counting under reasonable conditions.

AIM: To investigate the status of myopia in students from different kinds of schools in Shantou city, China.
METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, 2 418 students from 4 middle and high schools in Shantou were surveyed through randomized cluster sampling. Ophthalmic examination and auto-refraction were performed for all subjects.
RESULTS: Among all 2 394 students examined. The myopia rates for students from middle and high school were 48. 07% and 68. 28%. In normal middle school, students from rural area had lower rate of myopia than students from the urban area (χ2 = 13. 879, P<0. 01 ). Students from key rural high schools had lower rate of myopia than students from key urban high school (χ2 =175. 231, P<0. 01).
CONCLUSION:The prevalence of myopia in the middle school of urban area in Shantou was higher than rural area. The increasing rate of myopia in youngsters is correlated with study stress. In order to decrease the myopia rate, it is extremely important to improve study environment in students.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2020;52(6):1048-1055
OBJECTIVE:
To determine the prevalence of depression and anxiety in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA), to investigate whether there is a difference in the prevalence of depression and anxiety between PsA and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and to identify associated risk factors for depression and anxiety in PsA patients.
METHODS:
PsA and RA patients who visited Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology in Peking University First Hospital from May 2018 to Sep 2019 were recruited. Self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale were surveyed and compared between PsA and RA patients. Demographics and clinical features including age, gender, disease duration, disease activity score, psoriasis area and severity index (PASI), and medical application were collected. Power Doppler and grey-scale ultrasound of joints, tenosynovitis and enthesis were performed. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to identify the factors associated with mood disorders and the odds ratio of depression and anxiety between the PsA and RA patients.
RESULTS:
Among the 114 enrolled PsA patients, 37 (32.5%) had mood disorders, in which 36 (31.6%) with depression and 15 (13.2%) with anxiety. Compared with 201 RA patients, PsA patients showed greater odds for depression [adjusted OR (95%CI): 2.7 (1.1-6.4)]. Depression was more often observed in the PsA than in the RA patients (31.6% vs. 18.9%, P=0.011). The similar trend for anxiety was also observed, although the difference was insignificant (13.2% vs. 8.5%, P=0.185). Age (OR=0.95, P=0.008), psoriasis duration (OR=0.94, P=0.018), pain visual analogue scale (OR=1.47, P=0.011), PASI score (OR=1.07, P=0.007) and presence of ultrasound enthesitis (OR=4.13, P=0.009) were identified as factors associated with depression in the PsA patients. PASI score (OR=1.07, P=0.001) was identified as associated factor for anxiety in the PsA patients.
CONCLUSION
The prevalence of depression and anxiety is elevated in PsA patients. Depression is significantly more prevalent in PsA patients than in RA patients. Younger age, shorter psoriasis duration, worse pain and presence of ultrasound enthesitis are associated with depression, while severe psoriasis rash is associated with both depression and anxiety in PsA patients.

The patient,a 11-year-old boy, presented with a 4-year history of erythema and vesicles on the face and arms as well as a 4-month history of tumor and ulcer on the extremities, accompanied by progressive fatigue and intermittent fever. The patient had a body temperature of 37.7℃.No lymph node involvement was observed.Cutaneous examination revealed minimally indurated pink-red patches on the face and nose and dusky red firm nodules and tumors of varying sizes on the extremities. The nodules ranged from 2.0 cm to 18 cm in diameter, some had necrosis and black crusts on the surface.Ulcers were observed in some of the larger nodules;many of the ulcers extended into the muscle layer.White purulent discharge was seen on the surface of many of the nodules. The lesions were sharply demarcated, firm, tender, and surrounded by small satelite nodules.Histologically, there were large quantities of irregularly shaped, middle-sized tumor cells with clear cytoplasm, large twisted nuclei and prominent chromatin, infiltrating from the epidermis to subcutaneous tissue. The tumor cells infiltrating the follicles and eccrine sweat glands were either distributed perivascularly in a nest shape,or dispersed. There were broken nuclei and reactive histio- cytic infiltration in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.Immunohistologically, the tumor cells were positive for cytoplasmic CD3 around the nuclei, for CD56,CD45RO and T cell intracellular antigen-l,and partly for CD30,CD8 and Ki67.Epstein-Barr virus-encoded nuclear RNA was positive with in situ hybridization. TCR?-2 gene rearrangement was positive in these tumor cells.A diagnosis of hydroa vacciniforme-like primary cutaneous NK/T-cell lymphoma was made. Therefore, this is a case report of hydroa vaccini- forme-like primary cutaneous NK/T-cell lymphoma with primary involvement in the skin;the condition was slowly progressive over 51 months.
