Informed consent right is not just for basic ethical consideration, but is important for protecting patient's right by law, which is expressed through informed consent contract. The appraised individuals of forensic clinical examination have the similar legal status as the patients in medical system. However, the law does not require informed consent right for the appraised individuals. I recommend giving certain informed consent right to the appraised individuals in the forensic clinical examination. Under the contracted relationship with the institution, the appraised individuals could participate in the examination process, know the necessary information, and make a selected consent on the examination results, which can assure the justice and fairness of judicial examination procedure.

Objective To investigate the radiosensitization effect and underlying mechanism of Paeonol on human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 in vitro. Methods Cells were assigned to following groups:control,Paeonol alone, irradiation alone,Paeonol combined with irradiation. The effect of Paeonol on cell proliferation was evaluated by the MTT assay. Clonogenic assay was performed to measure the radiosensitization effect of Paeonol under three concentrations around 20% IC50.Cell apoptosis was determined by TUNEL assay and flow cytometry (FCM).The expression of Survivin protein was analyzed by Western blot. Results Cell growth was inhibited by Paeonol in a dose-dependent manner and the IC50 of Paeonol was (25.2 ± 2.1 ) mg/L. Clonogenic assay showed that Paeonol could markedly enhance cell radiosensitivity and the sensitizing enhancement ratio (SER) was 1.29.After the pretreatment of Paeonol with different concentrations,radiation-induced apoptosis increased with the doses at 24,48,and 72 h post-irradiation ( t =4.95,3.03,3.78,4.59,2.88,3.70,5.54,P < 0.05 ). Moreover, the protein expression of Survivin was obviously down-regulated by 22.6% - 56.7% ( t =4.15,7.30,13.47,P <0.05 ) due to the treatment of Paeonol. When the Paeonol-treated cells were further irradiated with 6 Gy X-rays,the expression of Survivin was reduced to 22.2% - 69.4% ( t =4.30,8.36,16.34,P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Paeonol had radiosensitization effect on the human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 in vitro, where the down-regulated Survivin protein might be involved.

Objective To explore the effect of wild type or mutant parkin gene expression on the growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line Huh-7. Methods The parkin (wild type or mutant) expression vector and empty vector were transferred into Huh-7 cell lines with LipofectAMINE 2000 reagents. The positive clones that expressed parkin gene stably were chosen by G418 and checked by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to check the DNA sequences. The cytobiological behaviors of those positive clones were analyzed by cell proliferation assay and tumorigenesis in nude mice. Results Huh-7 cell lines that expressed wild type or mutant parkin gene stably were successfully established. The growth of wild type parkin-expressed cells was obviously inhibited compared with the control cells transfected with empty vectors(t= 3. 875, P= 0. 031).The volume of tumor formed by wild type parkin-expressing cells in nude mice was also significantly reduced (t=8. 228,P=-0. 003). Mutant parkin gene expression had a slight effect on the growth of Huh-7 cells in vitro and in vivo (P>0.05). Conclusion The re-expression of wild type parkin gene can favor the malignant phenotype revision of Huh-7 cells. Therefore, it might be a good candidate for tumor suppressor gene associated with HCC.

Objective To assess incidence rate of different types of cement leakage in percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) with or without intravertebral clefts and to determine whether basivertebral foramen could be connected with intravertebral cleft. Methods 270 vertebrae in 224 consecutive patients who underwent percutaneous kyphoplasty for treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures were classified into two groups on preoperative radiographs, computed tomography scans,and/or magnetic resonance images of the treated levels:Cleft group with an intravertebral cleft in vertebral body and trabecular group without intravertebral clefts. On direct postoperative images, the patterns of cement leakage were classified as 5 types:through a cortical defect into paraspinal soft tissues (type A),through the basivertebral foramen (type B),via the needle channel (type C),through a cortical defect into the disc space (type D),via the paravertebral vein (type E).The incidence of different types of cement leakage between two groups was analyzed. Results In 72 of 270 vertebrae,an intravertebral cleft was confirmed on preoperative images.Leaks through basivertebral foramen as type B (42,15.5%) and through cortical defects into the disc space as type D leaks (21,7.8%) were more common than other types. The incidence of type B leakage in the cleft group (23.6%) was higher than the incidence in the trabecular group (12.6%),which made a statistical significance (P=0.028).There was no statistical difference between the trabecular pattern and the cleft pattern on other types of leaks. Conclusion Type B leaks were more common in vertebrae with the presence of an intravertebral cleft, which support the presence of the connection between an intravertebral cleft and the basivertebral foramen. Thus, care must be taken when PKP was performed in these patients to avoid cement leakage into spinal canal through basivertebral foramen directly.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(07):-
Objective To observe the change of the level of blood ghrelin in the children with anorexia and its relationship with insulin sensitivity. Methods Height, weight, body mass index(BMI)of 40 children in anorexia group,20 healthy children in control group were measured;the level of blood grelin, insulin and blood glucose were determined;insulin sensitivity index(ISI) was calculated, then the results in both groups were analyzed. Results Levels of height, weight and BMI in anorexia group were significantly lower than those of control group. The ghrelin and ISI levels in anorexia group were significantly higher than those in control group, but the insulin and glucose levels were significantly lower in anorexia group than those in control group, the differences were significant.Ghrelin level showed negative correlation with insulin and blood glucose concentration in both groups and positive correlation with ISI level. Conclusions The decrease of appetite in children with anorexia may not necessarily result from under-secretion of ghrelin. The increase of insulin sensitivity in children with anorexia may be a response to high level of ghrelin secretion.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
Two Pseudomonas strains, K80 - B and K80 - A, can use hydrocarbon as carbon source by two different mechanisms. Different effects can be observed when they are applied to 69-8 oil of Dagan Oil Field. The strain K80-B producing both hydrocarbon pseudosolubilizing factor and hydrocarbon emulsifying factor can decrease the viscosity and solidifying point of the 69-8 oil 51.6% and 2℃ respectively. Whereas the other can only decrease 43.5% and 3℃ respectively. When the two strains are mixed, synergistic effect on crude oil is obvious.
