Objective To comprehend the action mechanism of simvastatin in pulmonary hypertension(PH)when it induced by high pulmonary blood flow. Methods Abdominal aorta-inferior vena cava shunting was made in rats to establish animal model of PH induced by high pulmonary blood flow, simvastatin with dose of 2 mg/(kg?d)was used to interfere for 11 weeks. And then, pulmonary arterial pressure, apoptosis rate and proliferation rate of pulmonary vascular smooth muscle cell were determined. Results were compared with other groups. Results Simvastatin could cut down the pulmonary arterial pressure well, pulmonary arterial pressures of simvastatin group rats were lower than those of spliting groups obviously(Pa

BackgroundPterygia is a clinical common disease.A lot of surgical methods are developed to decrease the recurrence rate.Resent years, the application of fibrin glue is receiving more and more attention. Objective This study was to explore the effects of fibrin glue in decreasing inflammatory irritation and its mechanism. Methods Pterygia models were created in 12 clean rabbits by exsection of limbal tissue and topical administration of 1.25% diluted hydrochloric acid, and then the conjunctival autograft surgery was performed in the experimental rabbits. The conjunctival flap was sutured in the left eyes, and the conjunctival wound was closed using fibrin glue in the right eyes. The operation duration for each group was documented and compared. The irritation sign was examined under the slit lamp in all the rabbits 1 week and 4 weeks respectively. The expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VFGF) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) proteins in the conjunctiva tissue were detected by immunochemistry, and the expressions of VFGF mRNA and bFGF mRNA in the conjunctival tissue were determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results The operative duration was (21.3±0.2) minutes in suture group and( 10.1 ±0.1 )minutes in the fibrin glue group with a significant difference between two groups( t =102.242,P<0.05 ).From 1 week through 4 weeks, the hyperemiain degree was obviously slight in fibrin glue group compared with suture group.Immunochemistry showed that VEGF and bFGF proteins were expressed mainly in the cytoplasm of conjunctival epithelium layer. The positive response intensity was weaker in the fibrin glue group than in suture group 1 week and 4 weeks after operation.RT-PCR revealed that the expression level of VEGF mRNA was significantly lower in fibrin glue group than in suture group, and the VEGF mRNA was gradually decreased with the time lapse ( Fgroup =174.443,P =0.000 ; Ftime =231.459,P =0.000 ).The similar outcomes were found in the expression of bFGF mRNA(Fgroup=41.727,P=0.000;Ftime=55.417,P=0.000). ConclusionsThe use of fibringluecanshortentheoperationdurationandreducepostoperationinflammatoryreaction. The downregulation of VEGF and bFGF in tissue is the possible mechanism of remitting irritation sign, which allows a reduce of the recurrence rate of pterygia.

To explore the application value of low-dose CT in lung cancer after operation in a short-term review by comparing conventional and low-dose CT. Methods:In 83 cases of lung cancer during the immediate postoperative period review, 50 cases (group A) underwent conventional CT scanning, whereas 33 cases (group B) underwent low-dose CT scanning. All CT scans were scored on the basis of image quality and clinical needs. The radiation dose indexes CTDIvol and DLP were recorded for each case. A comparison of the score and radiation dose between the two groups helped determine the existence of significant differences. Results:The average image quality scores of the two groups were 3.705±0.314 and 3.311±0.442, those for clinical demand were 2.670±0.373 and 2.561±0.410, those for CTDIvol were (19.248±1.532) mGy and (10.138±1.113) mGy, and those for DLP were (170.180±19.259) mGy*cm and (99.061±14.504) mGy*cm. The two groups exhibited significant differences in image quality, CTDIvol, and DLP but revealed no significant dissimilarity in clinical demand. Conclusion:Low-dose CT completely meets the clinical requirements for short-term follow-up after resection of lung cancer and significant reduction in radiation dose.

Objective To determine chromosomal localization of the primary gout susceptibility gene in a pedigree. Methods The clinical data and the peripheral blood samples were collected in the pedigree members and the genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood.A genome-wide screening was performed using 400 micro-satellite DNA markers in this family, and linkage analysis was used to determine the chromosomal location of the primary gout susceptibility gene. Results Linkage analysis showed that the maximum LOD score reached 1.50 at marker D4S1572 (at recombination fraction?=0.00).Conclusion Since D4S1572 is localized at 4q25,the primary gout susceptibility gene of this pedigree is localized at 4q25.

Thermodynamic parameters of complexation of naphto-15-crown-5 with four alkaline earth ions in aqueous media was determined using titration microcalorimetry at 298.15 K. The stability of the complexes, thermal effect and entropy effect of the complexation is discussed on the basis of the guest ions structure and the solvent effect. The stability constants tendency to vary with ion radius was interpreted. Complex of naphtha-15-crown-5 with calcium ion is very stable due to the synergism of static electric interaction and size selectivity between the host and the guest.

A kind of real-time remote monitoring embedded terminal which is combined with mobile communication technology and GPS localization technology, has been developed. The results of preliminary experiments show that the terminal can transmit ECG signals and localization information in real time and continuously, supply a real-time monitoring of out-of-hospital cardiac patients and trace the patients.

BACKGROUND:Bilateral-sagitta-split-ramus-osteotomy (BSSRO) has become a conventional method to correct facial deformities, and the finite element method is a significant way to study biomechanics of the mandible and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) after BSSRO. OBJECTIVE: To establish a precise and high simulation model of mandible containing TMJ after BSSRO with internal fixation, which is the base to study the biomechanics of the mandible and TMJ after BSSRO. METHODS: Spiral CT scan was used to get the data of DICOM that were input into MIMICS to establish the three-dimensional model of the mandible. The three-dimensional model was wrapped into a single closed shel for mesh generation and conversion in ANSYS. Then, the model was input into the ANSYS software for temporomandibular joint reconstruction and simulation of BSSRO and internal fixation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The three-dimensional finite element model of mandible containing TMJ after BSSRO was established using MIMICS and ANSYS. This model had biological similarity and geometric similarity in comparison with the human tissues. The model could undergo various internal fixations through antedisplacement, retroposition and rotational movement of the distal end. Based on different experimental purposes, the established model can apply a load to al parts to study changes in stress and displacement of different tissues after BSSRO and internal fixation, and it also can be used to study the effect of different fixation materials on the rear stability after internal fixation.
