Mitochondrial oxidative stress has been recognized as a preliminary and critical factor that aggravates the pathological cascade of Alzheimer's disease, which induces the production of β-amyloid protein, upregulates the expression of phosphorylated tau protein and triggers oxidative damage to lipids, proteins and mitochondrial deoxyribonucleic acid. Central neurons are more vulnerable to oxidative stress than non-neuronal cells due to their high oxygen demand, abundant unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidant enzymes deficiency. On this account, this review introduces the causes of mitochondrial oxidative stress, and analyzes the important role of mitochondrial oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. Meanwhile, the review focuses on the design and intervention strategies of drug delivery systems targeting mitochondrial oxidative stress in neurons, aiming to provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Objective To study the relation between phlegm-damp retention type of metabolism syndrome and microcosmic indices in order to find out the objective evidence for TCM syndrome differentiation.Methods Totally 49 cases of metabolism syndrome were observed,25 of them were phlegm-damp retention type in differentiation and 24 were non-phlegm-damp retention type.The height, body weight,waistline and blood pressure of two groups were measured,the serum leptin,insulin and blood lipid were determined, and the insulin resistance index(IRI)and body mass index(BMI)were calculated.Results The leptin,BMI,systolic pressure,FINS and IRI of the phlegm-damp retention group were all higher than those of the non-phlegm-damp retention group.Conclusion BMI, leptin,insulin,and IRI may be taken as the the index of syndrome differentiation in metabolism syndrome.

This article was aimed to study the factors associated with sleep quality of anger-out and anger-in population based on the frequent pattern-tree (FP-Tree) growing algorithm with data mining. The algorithm of structuring frequent model FP-tree and mining frequent itemsets were designed. The database information scanned was recorded by using FP-Tree growing algorithm through state-trees. The frequent itemsets met minimum support required was generated through reducing the search space of project sets and scanning database only one. The data mining of all factors associated with emotional diseases was actualized. The results showed that factors associated with sleep quality of anger-out and anger-in population were disturbance in respiration, cough or snoring, feeling cold, hot or nightmares. The total time for program analysis was 2 seconds. It was concluded that data mining algorithm based on FP-Tree frequent itemsets can effectively realize the useful information receiving from factors associated with emotional diseases.

By using the pharmacophore model of mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists as a starting point, the experiment stud- ies the method of traditional Chinese medicine formula design for anti-hypertensive. Pharmacophore models were generated by 3D-QSAR pharmacophore (Hypogen) program of the DS3.5, based on the training set composed of 33 mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. The best pharmacophore model consisted of two Hydrogen-bond acceptors, three Hydrophobic and four excluded volumes. Its correlation coefficient of training set and test set, N, and CAI value were 0.9534, 0.6748, 2.878, and 1.119. According to the database screening, 1700 active compounds from 86 source plant were obtained. Because of lacking of available anti-hypertensive medi cation strategy in traditional theory, this article takes advantage of patent retrieval in world traditional medicine patent database, in order to design drug formula. Finally, two formulae was obtained for antihypertensive.

In this study, three methods for identification of E.coli were compared. The conventional method was employed to select and identify the suspicious E.coli isolates from a fecal sample. PCR based ARDRA analysis was then carried out to distinguish these E.coli isolates, E.coli MG1655 and other bacterial species. All the potential E.coli isolates and E.coli MG1655 had the identical ARDRA banding pattern while the other bacterial species showed the different patterns.The result indicated that the ARDRA analysis was consistent with the traditional method for identification of E.coli and could be the practical method for distinguishing E.coli from other intestinal bacterial species. The ERIC-PCR analysis provided abundant polymorphism between different E.coli isolates, and might be a powerful approach for elucidating the genetic diversity among isolates of the same species.

It has been showed that there were obvious obstacle effects of Panax notoginseng replanting. Crop rotation was the main effective technique to overcome the obstacle. To find a reasonable crop rotation system for P. notoginseng, aqueous extracts from root, stem and leaf of P. notoginseng were analyzed for allelopathic effect on three maize varieties (which are often grown in regions where P. notoginseng grown). The main results were as follows: (1) Allelopathic effect of P. notoginseng stem and leaf extracts on the three other tested plants was stronger than that of root extracts; (2) Corn was more vulnerable to the effects of allelochemicals at seedling stage than at germination stage, and the corn root was more sensitive than aerial part to allelochemicals; (3) Lusan No. 3 and Yunrui No. 1 showed resistance to P. notoginseng allelopathy, with respective comprehensive sensitivity indexes (M3) of - 0.089 3 and -0.159 2, while Bainuo No. 1 is sensitive at M3 = -0.261 0. It then can be concluded that Lusan No. 3 and Yunrui No. 1 may be an alternative rotation plants for overcoming P. notoginseng continuous cropping obstacle.

Objective To investigate the expression of osteopontin(OPN)and osteonectin(ON) in breast cancer and its relationship with formation of microcalcification.Methods Acoording to the number of microcalcification of breast cancer in mammography,93 cases were divided into three groups:non- microcalcification group,little microcalcification group,and much microcalcification group.The relationship between expression of OPN\ON and microcalcification was studied.At the same time,breast cancer with microcalcification was observed in 3 cases by using patho-histological method and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Results Microcalcification was detected not only in necrosis foci,but also in nest of breast cancer without necrosis.Microcalcification was found in intracytoplasm of breast cancer cells through TEM.Expression of OPN\ON was significant related with the presence and number of microcalcification. Objective To evaluate the stability and biodistribution of a novel SPECT-MRI bi-functional agem 99Tcm-Gd-DTPA-DG in tumor-bearing nude mice. Methods DTPA-DG was synthesized and then conjugated with Gd2O3 to generate Gd-DTPA-DG. The tumor-bearing nude mice were scanned by MRI to evaluate the tumor targeting ability of Gd-DTPA-DG. The orthogonal experiment was applied to optimize pH value of reaction medium and reaction temperature. The radiolabeling efficiency was measured by thin layer chromatography. The distribution of 99Tcm-Gd-DTPA-DG in nude mice was evaluated by scintigrapy in vivo. The % ID/g was measured at different time after intravenous injection of 99Tcm-Gd-DTPA-DG. Results The tumor was significantly enhanced by Gd-DTPA-DG with MRI. The radiochemical purity of 99Tcm-Gd-DTPADG was about 98.5% and remained 96.2% at room temperature for 6 h. The tumor was well visualized by 99TcmGd-DTPA-DG SPECT at 2 h after injection. The tumor uptake was (1.48 ±0.12) %ID/g, and the rumor to muscle radioactivity ratio was 2.91. Conclusions MRI contrast of Gd-DTPA-DG may enhance tumor detection. 99Tcm-labeled Gd-DTPA-DG may be useful for tumor imaging and might have a potential role as a SPECT-MRI bi-functional agent.
