Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics and causes of ischemic cerebrovascular disease(ICD)in children.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 53 cases with ICD from Feb.2002 to Jun.2008 at the department of neurology in Wuhan Children's Hospital.The self-designed questionnaire of children with ICD was used,whose items included patients' age,gender,personal history,clinical features,cerebrospinal fluid examination,neurological imaging,immunologic examination,metabolic examination,and so on.Results Of 53 children with ICD,30 cases(56.6%)were male,and 23 cases(43.4%)were female.Patients' age varied from 9 months to 12 years old,in which 45 cases(84.9%)were less than 6 years old.Patients from rural area(60.4%)were more than those from city(39.6%).Ratio of limb paralysis was 75.5%(40 cases)in first clinical symptomatology of children with ICD,including hemiplegia in 32 cases(60.4%),alternate hemiplegia in 5 cases(9.4%)and monoplegia in 3 cases(5.7%).Skull CT/MRI scan was performed to reveal 27 cases(50.9%)with basal ganglia region infarction and secondly 15 cases(28.3%)with multi-lobar infarction.Forty cases were found in abnormal cerebrovascular image by means of magnetic resonance angiography/digital subtraction angiography,in which middle cerebral artery and its branches were involved in 21 cases(52.5%).There were 41 cases(77.4%)of patients to be found with clear causes,of which 13 cases(24.5%)were of infections,8 cases(15.1%)of moyamoya disease,5 cases(9.4%)of cerebral vascular malformations,4 cases(7.5%)of head trauma.However,another 12 cases(22.6%)of patients had unknown etiology.Conclusions Children with ICD had characteristics themselves.The limb paralysis was mostly the first symptoms,and the middle cerebral artery and its branches lesions were the most common locations in children with ICD,and next the internal carotid artery involvement,anterior cerebral artery involvement,posterior cerebral artery involvement,cerebral vascular malformations,and so on.Their major cause was infection,followed by Moyamoya disease,cerebrovascular malformations and head trauma,and there were still some unknown causes.

Objective:This paper aims to explore the relationship between the residents’ health and economic de-velopment to provide a scientific basis which will promote the coordinated economy and health development. Methods:Adopting the entropy method, we could calculate the comprehensive health evaluation index. In combining the co-inte-gration and error correction models, we could analyze the long-term and short-term relationships between our country residents’ level of health since 2000 and the national macro-economic development information. The Granger causality test served as a good method used in testing the casual relationships. Results: The health and economic development has a co-integration relationship which is -0. 6216 in the short-term correction. The economic development extent is the Granger cause of residents’ health status. Conclusion:There is not only a long-term equilibrium, but also a short-term relationship between the residents’ health and economic development in our country. The economic growth pro-motes residents’ health status while the promotion of residents’ health to economic growth is not obvious.

Objective:To present our initial experience with robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) for complicated cases.Methods:Clinical and pathological data from 4 complicated prostate cancer cases,who underwent RALP from October to November in 2015,were analyzed retrospectively.All the cases were conducted transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of prostate and hormonal therapy before RALP.Results:All surgeries were done successfully.The age,baseline prostatic special antigen,clinical tumor stage,operation time and estimated blood loss were 58-70 years,6.04-70.15 ng/mL,T2bT3b,210-360 min and 50-250 mL,respectively.No blood transfusion was needed.All surgical margin were negative.Conclusion:Although previous transurethral surgeries and hormonal therapies may increase the difficulty for operations,RALP is still appropriate for the complicated cases of prostate cancer.

OBJECTIVETo investigate whether blood stasis is one of the main causes in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

METHODSThe clinical manifestation of blood stasis syndrome were comprehensively scored in sixty postmenopausal osteoporosis patients, their vascular endothelial function and platelet activating capacity were also detected, and compared with those in 30 healthy women as control.

RESULTSThe molecular indexes as vascular endothelial function and platelet activating capacity, as well as comprehensive scores of clinical manifestation of blood stasis syndrome in postmenopausal osteoporosis patients were significantly different to those of healthy women (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThere is objective molecular pathologic change of blood stasis syndrome in postmenopausal osteoporosis. Blood stasis plays an important role in pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Objective To investigate the treatment and mechanism of aminoguanidine in retina of diabetic of rats .Methods To-tal 60 rats were divided into control group(n=20) ,diabetic group(n=20) and aminoguanidine treatment group(n=20)which would be treated by aminoguanidine for 14 days .Then the eye tissue of rats were took after 14 days administration for pathological obser-vation(HE staining) ,and the induced nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) ,endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS) ,nerve type of nitric ox-ide synthase(nNOS) level and the expression of differences content and expression were investigated by ELISA ,Western blot and PT-PCR .Results HE staining showed that retinal tissue defects decreased and neuronal cells of rats in aminoguanidine treatment group were increased and significant (P<0 .05) compared rats in diabetic group .The iNOS content and expression of rats in amin-oguanidine treatment group were lower than diabetic group by ELISA ,Western blot and PT-PCR ,it was significantly difference (P<0 .05) and without significant difference between the normal group and diabetic group (P> 0 .05) .Compared with diabetes group ,iNOS ,eNOS ,nNOS protein expression in the rat retina in aminoguanidine treatment group were reduced (P< 0 .05) ,and without significant difference between the normal group and aminoguanidine treatment group (P>0 .05) .The iNOS mRNA expres-sion was lower than that of eNOS mRNA and nNOS mRNA in aminoguanidine treatment group .Conclusion Aminoguanidine can improve retinal tissue of diabetic rats with lesions ,the pathways may be selectively inhibit inducible nitric oxide synthase activity of iNOS .

OBJECTIVETo explore early clinical effect of acetabular cup in total hip replacement for the treatment of Crowe II developmental dysplasia of hip.

METHODSEighteen patients (18 hips) with Crowe type II developmental dysplasia of hip were treated with total hip replacement from September 2001 to July 2013. Among them,including 13 males and 5 females aged from 42 to 60 years old with an average of 47.6 years old; the courses of diseases ranged from 9 to 22 years with an average of 13.5 years. All the patients had hip joint pain, limb shortening and limited hip function before operation. Harris score of hip joint were used to evaluate recovery of function at 1 day and 12 months after operation. Prosthetic coverage of acetabular cup at 1 week after operation was observed by using radiography.

RESULTSEighteen patients (18 hips) were followed up from 12 to 24 months with an average 17 months. All incisions were healed at stage I. No deep vein thrombosis, hip dislocation, periprosthetic joint infection and prosthesis loosening were occurred. No revision surgery during follow-up period. Prosthetic coverage of acetabular cup was more than 80% at 1 week after operation. Harris score were increased from 42.67 ± 5.06 before operation to 94.79 ± 3.27 at 12 months after operation (t = -45.269, P < 0.001).

CONCLUSIONFor type Crowe II developmental dysplasia of hip patients, 15° face-changing acetabular cups in THR could obtain higher actebular component coverage rate and satisfactory early clinical effects.

There have been very few studies on the effect of Gualou Xiebai Banxia decoction combined with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction in inhibiting apoptosis in myocardial ischemial injury caused by coronary heart disease. In this experiment, Gualou Xiebai Banxia decoction combined with-Xuefu Zhuyu decoction were used to intervene the miniature swine phlegm and blood stasis type coronary heart disease model, in order to observe the effect of the combined prescription on the myocardial apoptosis and the expressions of Bcl-2, Bax, Caspase-3, Caspase-9 in the model. Totally 15 Chinese experimental miniature swine were adopted and randomly divided into the control group, the model group and the phlegm and stasis-treating group. The model group and the stasis-treating group were fed with high fat diets for two weeks, intervened with the coronary artery injury and then given drugs and high fat diets for eight weeks. The control group was fed with ordinary diets for 10 weeks, without the coronary artery injury. After the experiment, myocardia at the juncture of infracted areas were collected and made into formalin-fixed paraffin sections. The TDT-mediate dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay was used to detect the myocardial apoptosis. The immunohistochemistry (IHC) technique was applied to detect Bcl-2, Bax, Caspase-3, Caspase-9 levels in myocardial tissues. According to the findings, the apoptosis indexes (AI) for the control group, the model group and the phlegm and stasis-treating group were 0.92%, 27.68%, 17.28%, respectively. The AI of the phlegm and stasis-treating group was significantly lower than that of the model group (P < 0.01). Compared with the model group, the phlegm and stasis-treating group showed significantly higher Bcl-2 protein expression (P < 0.01) and lower Bax, Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 protein expressions (P < 0.01). In conclusion, Gualou Xiebai Banxia decoction combined with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction have a significant protective effect against the myocardial apoptosis in miniature swine phlegm and blood stasis type coronary heart disease model.

A glycomic method was used to screen the aberrantly ?1-6 fucosylated glycoproteins related to HCC metastasis and analyze the alteration of CK8 both in its expression level and its glycan parts associated with metastatic ability. Based on the approach, 2-DE coupled with lectin affinity blot, lectin affinity precipitation followed by MALDI-TOF-MS/MS, the lens culinaris agglutinin (LCA) affinity glycoprotein profiles from MHCC97-L and MHCC97-H cells, two higher metastatic HCC cell lines, were obtained, in which a differentially displayed protein spot was indicated when compared with Hep3B, in the region within 55～60 ku in molecular mass and 4～6 in isoelectric point. The identification result was CK8 by MALDI-TOF-MS/MS. To confirm the relation between increased core-fucosylation of CK8 and HCC metastasis, LCA affinity precipitation was used to extract the ?1-6 fucosylated glycoproteins, followed by Western blot. And it was found that CK8 was highly fucosylated in both MHCC97-L and MHCC97-H cells compared to Hep3B. Immunofluorescence analysis and Western blot were used to detect its intracellular localization and its protein expression levels, indicating that CK8 distributed in cytoplasm and increased protein expressions in MHCC97-L and MHCC97-H cell lines. And further lectin binding studies found that CK8 has a high affinity for Con A in both MHCC97-H and Hep3B cells, indicating that CK8 was a glycoprotein with high-mannose type N-glycans. But the amount of the lectin RCA-1 binding to CK8 was greater in MHCC97-H than Hep3B, suggesting that CK8 contained the increased terminal galactose residues ?-1, 4-linked to GlcNAc in MHCC97-H. All the results suggested that the increase of CK8 in its protein expression level, core-fucosylation and terminal gal ?1,4 GlcNAc disaccharides might be related to HCC metastatic ability.

OBJECTIVETo explore whether there is a relationship between gross tumor volume (GTV) and pathologic lymph node metastasis or prognosis of esophageal carcinoma, and to provide a new prognosis reference for esophageal carcinoma (EC).

METHODSSix hundred and seven patients received radical resection of thoracic esophageal carcinoma from May 2002 to June 2006 in our hospital, and their pre-operative CT images were transmitted to the three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy planning system by the network in digital format. Esophageal GTV targets were outlined and their GTV volumes were calculated. To analyze whether there is a relationship between GTV volume and pathologic lymph node metastasis or prognosis.

RESULTSIn the 607 cases of esophageal carcinoma, the GTV volume was (22.5 ± 16.8) cm(3) in 374 stage N0 EC patients, significantly different from that of (30.4 ± 20.1) cm(3) in 233 stage N1 EC cases (P < 0.001). There is a significant difference between the GTV volumes of the groups with and without lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). There was a significant difference of the GTV volumes of EC patients with one lymph node metastasis and those with ≥ 4 lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). There was a positive correlation between GTV volume and the number of lymph node metastasis (r = 0.230, P < 0.001). The 1-, 3-, 5-year survival rates since the surgery date were 83.8%, 53.5%, and 36.4%, respectively. There was a significant difference between the survival rates of stage N0 (48.5%) and stage N1 patients (18.2%, P < 0.001), and there was a significant difference between the survival rats of patients with 0, 1 and ≥ 2 lymph node metastasis (P < 0.01). Cox regression model analysis showed that GTV volume, number of lymph node metastasis, pathological type, and lesion site were independent prognostic factors (all P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe GTV volume of esophageal carcinoma is positively correlated with the number of pathologic lymph node metastasis, and it is an independent prognostic factor for this cancer.

Objective To observe the effects of five flavonoids include rutin(RU),dihydromyricetin(DMY),hesperetin(HP),daidzein(DA)and hydroxysaffor yellow A(HYSA)on myocardiocyte apoptosis induced by H2O2 and to explore their relationships with Keshan disease and the possible mechanism.Methods Primary cultured cardiocytes of neonatal rats were randomly divided into control group,model group,and flavonoids preincubation group.The cardiocyte apoptosis was examined by fluorescent staining,the rates of apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry,the expression of Bcl-2 family proteins associated with apoptosis were observed:by Western blot.Results Compared with model group[(24.33±6.51)%],RU[(13.95±3.80)%],DA[(11.82±3.50)%],HYSA[(12.33±3.78)%]could decreased the rate of apoptosis(P＜0.05).The five flavonoids could up-regulate Bcl-2 expression,down-regulate Bax expression,and increase the Bcl-2/Bax ratio[RU(0.989±0.094),DMY(0.931±0.280),HP(0.980±0.095),DA(1.049±0.092),HYSA(1.031±0.039),vs model(0.490±0.046),the difference had statistical significances(P＜0.05)],but the Bcl-xl did not significantly changed(P＞0.05).Conclusions RU,DMY,HP,DA and HYSA have antiapoptotic effects on cardiomyocyte via regulating Bcl-2 and Bax,which gives us a hint in prevention and treatment of Keshan disease.
