Objective To explore the safety of the mobilization of peripheral blood stem cells(PBSC)by granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)in elderly donors. Methods 28 peripheral arteriosclerotic occlusive disease(PAOD)elderly patients(aged≥60 years),and 29 healthy sibling young/adult donors(aged<60 years)for peripheral allogenic stem cell transplantation were included.Blood samples were collected immediately before starting G-CSF and prior to PBSC collection to analyze the following parameters:the WBC counts,fibrinogen(FIB),D-dimer (D-D),thrombin antithrombin complex(TAT),antithrombin(AT)and yon Willebrand factor antigen(vWF:Ag). Results It had a very significant increase in D-D and vWF:Ag and a very significant decrease of AT(P<0.01),af- ter mobilization by G-CSF,and a increase in FIB and TAT were also observed(P<0.05,P<0.01)in elderly group. In the young/aduh group, the increase in FIB was significant(P<0.05).The elevating extent of D-D and TAT after G-CSF administration was significantly higher in elderly group than that in young/adult group(P<0.05).Compared to young/adult group, there was a significant increase in thrombotic events and cerebrovascular ac- cident(P<0.05).Conclusion In PBCS donorsreceiving G-CSF it reveals activation of both coagulation and en- dothelial cells and inhibition of anticoagulant system that can favor the developing of thrombotic events, which is more remarkable in elderly donors. Therefore a careful monitoring for coagulation system should be considered in those elderly cases.

OBJECTIVETo understand the process of Cistanche tubulosa.
METHODThe process of seed germination and parasitism was observed using stereomicroscope.
RESULTSeedling of C. tubulosa sprouted after forty day without host root's contact in fields, a tube-like-organ formed and grew auger-type from host root, the tuber apex where touches host root swelled and formed haustorium. Haustorium intruded host root epidermis and vascular bundles, and released brown substances. Then, embryo bud with six or more young leaves formed, finally the swelled tuber-like-organ broken and seed coat shed. Due to the parasitism of C. tubulosa, the host root near stem site swelled, but the other part, shrunk and disappered gradually.
CONCLUSIONSeed of C. tubulosa could germinate indepently in fields. Tuber-like-organ formatin, haustorium formation and bud formation are key steps of C. tubulosa seedling development.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the status of dietary sodium intake of 18 - 65 years old Chinese people in nine provinces (autonomous region) in 1991 and 2006.
METHODSIn 1991 and 2006, China Health and Nutrition Survey was carried out in nine provinces, including Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan, Hunan, Hubei, Guangxi and Guizhou, Subjects were selected by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method from 18 - 65 years old people and 8235 subjects in 1991 and 7788 subjects in 2006. Sodium intake analysis was conducted across gender, regions and rural(urban) residences.
RESULTSOn average, sodium intake decreased from (6750.6 ± 3771.5) mg/d in 1991 to (4949.7 ± 2829.4) mg/d in 2006 (Z = -35.5, P < 0.01) among the 18 - 65 years old people. In 1991 and 2006, the main sources of dietary sodium were salt, soy sauce and vegetable. In 1991, the proportion were 79.6% ((5375.6 ± 3532) mg/d), 8.7% ((586.7 ± 721.7) mg/d) and 7.5% ((506.9 ± 906.1) mg/d), respectively. In 2006, the proportion were 71.5% ((3539.8 ± 2545) mg/d), 8.3% ((410.7 ± 547.9) mg/d) and 6.2% ((304.6 ± 610.7) mg/d), respectively.
CONCLUSIONSAmong 18 - 65 years old residents, sodium intake in 2006 was significantly lower than that in 1991, but still far beyond the 2200 mg/d of adequate intake level (2200 mg/d). The major source of sodium intake in Chinese diet was condiments.

Chinese Journal of Disease Control & Prevention 2019;23(11):1370-1374
Objective To investigate interaction effect of hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia on the patients with abnormal alanine aminotransferase(ALT). Methods From March to November 2018, 5 223 cases with complete and suitable data were enrolled in the physical medical examination in Yichang, Hubei Province of China. The metabolic characteristics of the two groups (508 ALT anomaly cases and 513 normal cases) were compared and analysed, Logistic regression model was used to study the independent effects of risk factors, and the interaction between risk factors was analyzed by additive model and multiplicative model. Results Levels of uric acid, triglyceride, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol, fasting blood glucose, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, body mass index, aspartate aminotransferase were significantly higher than that of the control group(all P<0.05). After adjusting some confounding factors, multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that risk of abnormal ALT was 5.62 times higher in subjects with hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia than in subjects without them(95% CI:1.65-19.73, P=0.004). Interaction analysis of risk factors for abnormal ALT showed that there was no multiplicative interaction between hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia, but with additive interaction, the synergy index was 3.02, the relative excess risk due to interaction was 3.09, the attributable proportion due to interaction was 54.98% and pure factor attribution interaction was 66.87%. Conclusions There are several abnormal metabolic indices in individuals with abnormal ALT. The positive interaction between hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia are among the important risk factors for abnormal ALT patients. They can significantly increase the risk of illness.
