Orthogonal combination design was adopted in examining the Spirulina platensis (S. platensis) yield and the influence of four factors (Se content, Se-adding method, S content and NaHCO3 content) on algae growth. The results showed that Se content, Se-adding method and NaHCO3 content were key factors in cultivation conditions of Se-enriched S. platensis with the optimal combination being Se at 300 mg/L, Se-adding amount equally divided into three times and NaHCO3 at 16.8 g/L. Algae yield had a remarkable correlation with OD560 and floating rate by linear regression analysis. There was a corresponding relationship between effects of the four factors on algae yield and on OD560, floating rate too. In conclusion, OD560 and floating rate could be served as yield-forming factors.

Objective To compare the diagnostic value of adenosine and exercise stress myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) for detecting coronary heart disease (CHD) in women. Methods One hundred and thirty-eight patients with CHD were randomly divided into two groups: adenosine stress group (n = 69)and exercise stress group (n = 69). All patients underwent myocardial SPECT evaluation. Coronary angiography (CAG), referred as "gold standard" , was performed in each patient within 1 week before or after MPI. The diagnostic value of the two stress MPI was compared with χ2 test or Fisher's exact test. Results In adenosine stress group, the sensitivity, negative predictive value and accuracy were 88.2% (45/51),72.7% (16/22), 88.4% (61/69), respectively, which were not significantly different from those of the exercise stress group (91.7% (44/48), 66.7% (8/12), 81.2% (52/64); χ2 =0. 571, 0. 714, 0.249, P >0.05). However, the false positive rate of adenosine stress (11.1%, 2/18) was significantly lower than that of exercise stress (50.0%, 8/16), P = 0.023. Conclusions Adenosine and exercise stress MPI have similar value for CHD diagnosis in women, however, adenosine stress MPI may have an advantage of low false positive rate.

Acyl carrier protein is an essential component involved in the biosynthesis of DHA(Docosahexaenoic Acid) via PKS(Polyketide synthase) pathway,which takes the growing acyl chain from one enzyme to another.One cDNA clone,with high homology of ACP,was isolated from Schizochytrium sp.FJU-512 cDNA library.The deduced amino acid sequence contained 142 residues with isoelectric point of 5.04 and had the 4'-phosphopantetheine prosthetic(4'-PP) binding site.The target fragment was digested with BamHⅠ/HindⅢand inserted into the expression vector pET-30a resulting in the plasmid pET-30a/acp.The recombinant vector was transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3) and induced by IPTG.SDS-PAGE analysis demonstrated that ACP was effectively expressed.

Objective To investigate the adjustment methods and evaluation for children after cochlear implantation. Methods 6 children after artificial cochlear implantation were debugged by subjective psychological physical test, objective methods such as electricity induced composite action potential (ECAP), electrically evoked stapedius reflex threshold (ESRT) and electrically evoked auditory brainstem response (EABR). Results All the children got satisfied data. Conclusion For the children after cochlear implantation, objective methods such as ECAP, ESRT, EABR combined with subjective psychological physical test all together are helpful to obtain accurate threshold.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for simultaneous determination of tanshinol,caffeic acid,rosmarinic,salviano-lic acid B,salvianolic acid A,tanshinoneⅠ,cryptotanshinone,tanshinone ⅡA and ursolic acid in Compound xueshuantong cap-sules. METHODS:UPLC-MS/MS method was adopted. The determination was performed on ACQUITY UPLC? BEH C18 column with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.1%formic acid(gradient elution)at the flow rate of 0.2 mL/min. The column tempera-ture was 40 ℃,and the temperature of injector was 10 ℃. Analysis time was 7 min,and sample size was 5 μL. The electrospray ionization source(ESI)was used;ion source temperature was 150℃;capillary voltage was 3.5 kV;cone flow was 50 L/h;desol-vation temperature was 350 ℃;desolvation gas flow was 650 L/h;nebuliser pressure was 7 × 105 Pa;ion monitoring and multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) was performed. RESULTS:The linear ranges of tanshinol,caffeic acid,rosmarinic,salvianolic acid B,salvianolic acid A,tanshinoneⅠ,cryptotanshinone,tanshinone ⅡA and ursolic acid were 10.0-100.0 μg/mL (r=0.9998), 0.1-1.0 μg/mL(r=0.9998),4.0-40.0 μg/mL(r=0.9999),10.0-100.0 μg/mL(r=0.9999),15.0-150.0 μg/mL(r=0.9997), 8.0-80.0 μg/mL(r=0.9998),10.0-100.0 μg/mL(r=0.9997),50.0-500.0 μg/mL(r=0.9997)and 6.0-60.0 μg/mL(r=0.9998), respectively. The limits of quantitation were 40.0,9.6,38.0,88.0,130.0,39.0,4.4,3.2 and 10.0 ng/mL,separately. The limits of detection were 12.0,3.0,11.0,26.0,39.0,12.0,1.3,1.0 and 3.0 ng/mL,respectively. RSDs of precision,stability and repro-ducibility tests were all lower than 3%. The recoveries were 97.34%-103.20%(RSD=2.19%,n=6),97.22%-102.39%(RSD=2.03%,n=6),98.51%-101.70%(RSD=1.32%,n=6),97.86%-102.49%(RSD=2.09%,n=6),96.75%-103.12%(RSD=2.36%,n=6),98.43%-101.65%(RSD=1.25%,n=6), 97.59%-101.50%(RSD=1.50%,n=6), 96.45%-102.88%(RSD=2.58%,n=6),97.02%-103.11%(RSD=2.38%,n=6),separately. CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple and accurate,and can be used for simultaneous determination of 9 components in Compound xueshuantong capsules.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of heparin gelatin sponge stickers in the treatment of traumatic perforation of tympanic membrane. Methods Total of 79 cases (83 ears ) of traumatic perforation of tympanic membrane were randomly divided into two groups:the test group had 54 patients ( 58ears),and the control group had 25 cases (25 ears ).The test group received the treatment of heparin gelatin sponge stickers,and the control group received conservative traditional drying method. All the subjects were followed up for 4 weeks,observed and recorded the rate and healing period of traumatic tympanic membrane.Results In 4-week's follow-up,56 ears were cured in the test group,with a rate of 96.55％.Fourteen ears were cured in the control group with a rate of 56.00％.The healing rate of test group was significantly higher than that of the control group( x2 =18.79,P ＜0.01 ).The average of healing period was 17.6 days in the test group,and 32.0 days in the control group. There were significant differences in healing period between two groups( t =6.37,P ＜0.01 ).All the cured tympanic membrane in the test group was morphologically complete.In all followed up patients,there were no allergies and signs of infection,as well as other adverse reaction in the process of healing.Conclusion The heparin gelatin sponge can effectively enhance closure of the traumatic perforation of tympanic membrane and can shorten the healing period of traumatic perforation of tympanic membrane,and the smaller of the perforation,the shorter of healing period.

Objective To explore the correlations between serum soluble growth stimulation gene 2 protein (sST2), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and the degree of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 205 patients with acute ischemic stroke were selected as study group, and were divided into mild group with 100 cases, moderate group with 70 cases, and severe group with 35 cases according to the severity of carotid atherosclerosis. Another 150 healthy people who received physical examination during the same period were selected as control group. Serum levels of sST2 and BNP were compared among all groups. The correlations of sST2 and BNP levels with the degree of carotid atherosclerosis were analyzed. The influencing factors of different degree of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke were analyzed. The predictive value of sST2 combined with BNP on the degree of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke was analyzed. Results The serum sST2 level of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the serum BNP level was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The sST2 levels in moderate and severe groups were significantly lower, BNP levels were significantly higher than that in the mild group (P < 0.05). BNP level in the severe group was significantly higher, sST2 level was significantly lower than that in the moderate group (P < 0.05). The degree of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke was correlated with age, history of hypertension, history of smoking, history of diabetes, levels of total cholesterol (TC), C-reactive protein (CRP), homocysteine (Hcy) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) (P < 0.05). Age, hypertension history, smoking history, diabetes history, TC, CRP, Hcy, LDL, BNP and sST2 were the influencing factors for degree of carotid atherosclerosis (P < 0.05). Serum BNP level was positively correlated with the degree of carotid atherosclerosis, while sST2 level was negatively correlated with the degree of carotid atherosclerosis (P < 0.001). The area under the curve (AUC) for the combined prediction of sST2 and BNP was significantly greater than that for the individual prediction of sST2 and BNP (P < 0.001). Conclusion Clinical observation of the changes in serum levels of sST2 and BNP in patients with acute ischemic stroke can effectively assess the progression of the disease, which is beneficial for improving the severity of carotid atherosclerosis in patients. The combined assessment of sST2 and BNP shows good diagnostic performance for evaluating the severity of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the safety and feasibility of robotic-assisted laparoscopic colectomy for colonic cancer.

METHODSThe clinical outcomes of 13 patients with colon cancer undergoing robotic-assisted laparoscopic colectomy from May 2010 to November 2010 were retrospectively evaluated.

RESULTSAll the operations were performed successfully, including 5 right colectomies, 3 left colectomies, and 5 sigmoidectomies. The operative time was (171.5±31.8) minutes. The estimated blood loss was (54.6±21.8) ml. Time to the return of bowel function was (60.9±15.8) hours and postoperative hospital stay was (6.4±3.6) days. There was one patient developed fat liquefaction at the incision. No bleeding, anastomotic fistula, anastomotic stenosis, or other complications were found.

CONCLUSIONRobotic-assisted laparoscopic colectomy is safe and feasible for colon cancer resection.
