ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of Ginkgo-Dipyidamolum on nerve symptom, sign and the nerve conduction velocity of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN).Methods60 patients with DPN were divided randomly into observation group and control group with 30 patients in each group. Routine therapy was conducted in control group. On the basis of routine therapy as control group, Ginkgo-Dipyidamolum was used by intravenous infusions in observation group for 4 weeks. The symptoms and physical sign of patients, and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) were observed.ResultsAfter treatment, clinical symptoms, signs and NCV in observation group improved and were significantly different from that before treatment ( P<0.01), also significantly different from control group ( P<0.01).ConclusionGinkgo-Dipyidamolum can improve the nerve symptoms and signs of patients with DPN, and enhance NCV.

OBJECTIVETo assess occlusal balance of normal occlusion in intercuspal position with maximal bite force.
METHODSMaximal bite force was recorded in intercuspal position by use of T-Scan II system from 123 subjects with normal intact dentitions. Occlusal balance of normal occlusion was quantitatively analyzed from center of force, percentage of bite force, and occlusal contacts.
RESULTSThe relative position of the center of bite force, the difference in bilateral force percentage, and unsymmetrical coefficient followed normal distributions. The 95% reference ranges for corresponding testing items were -6.60 to 6.68 mm, -15.50% to 12.10%, and 0.65 to 1.39. There was no statistic difference (P = 0.915) in occlusal contacts between left and right sides. The 98.4% of normal occlusion subjects had the center of bite force locating in posterior region of dentition when biting with maximal force in intercuspal position.
CONCLUSIONSOcclusal balance could be evaluated by T-Scan II system. Occlusion of normal subjects biting with maximal force was stable and bilaterally balanced in intercuspal position.

Objective To explore the effect of nuclear factor-kappaB(NF-?B) on cardiac myocyte apoptosis and understand the molecular mechanism of decrease of heart function in septic shock rats. Methods Twenty Wistar rats were randomly divided into the septic shock group and the normal control group. The septic shock group(n=10) were fixed with anaesthesia and made into 1.5 cm slices just along the abdomen midline. Then the roots of appendices were returned to the belly cavity after being ligated and punctured 4 times with the No.14 pinhead. After that, the slices were sewn up layer by layer. After 12 hours, the rats were all sacrificed, the blood taken and the serum separated. In the end,the heart specimens of the septic shock group were set aside.Meanwhile, the normal control group were dealt with in the same way except that they were not subjected to cecal ligation and puncture. Then NF-?B protein levels in cardiac tissue and the index of cardiac myocyte apoptosis were measured. Results NF-?B protein levels in the septic shock group(9 cases were strong masculine gender,1 case was middle masculine gender)elevated significantly compared with the normal control group(8 cases were negative gender,2 cases were weak masculine gender) in cardiac tissue(P

The launch of the clinical trial registry is a milestone event in the field of clinical research in the 21st century that has played an important role in safeguarding the openness, transparency, ethics, data sharing and process control of clinical research. The current clinical research registry is mainly aimed at clinical trial research with lack of professional registration system for security and other real events of observational study. In order to improve the level of clinical safety research, promote transparency and process quality control,we proactively proposed and established a registration platform for clinical safety research of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper made a brief introduction hereof.

According to the related requirements of safety reevaluation of TCM injections, hospital centralized monitoring of the safety of TCM injection was consecutively pressed ahead.Centralized security monitoring was a large-scale real world research involving numerous data acquisition, transmission, verification and analysis. The quality of data acquisition and data verification directly affected the authenticity and reliability of research data and results. Therefore, data management played a significant role in the safety monitoring of TCM injections.Based on the analysis of previous researches, this paper discussed the implementation content, links and the frequent problems and corresponding solutions of data management during the safety monitoring of TCM injections, combining with the experience in the implementation of projects.

The implementation process management plays a important role for the quality of centralized safety monitoring study of post-marketing Chinese medical injections. One of the critical link is hospital.Currently, there is no principle or specification for hospital choosing, number of monitoring points, data collection responsible part and forms of data collection as well. These issues caused uneven quality, huge differences in results and questioned conclusion.Based on the previous research experience, this paper focused on discussing the link of hospital where research data may be influenced, and proposed some suggestions.

Safety hospital centralized monitoring is one of the important methods for evaluating the medication safety of TCM injections in clinic. It is critical to warrant research quality by reasonable statistical analysis. However, universally accepted standards and guidelines for the statistical analysis of hospital centralized monitoring of TCM injections have not been issued so far, which would probably reduce the research quality of safety hospital centralized monitoring of TCM injections since the unreasonable use of statistical analysis methods.Combined with previous practical experience and understanding,we put forward the problems of statistical analysis of hospital centralized monitoring of TCM injections with the provision of some advice in this paper based on the analysis of the preceding studies, laying a foundation for the same kind of researches.

Objective To retrospectively investigate and compare the clinical features in type 2 diabetic patients with various lesions of diabetic nephropathy. Methods One hundred and fifty patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus were registered from December 1990 to April 2004,among them 73 cases of diffuse glomerulosclerosis (DIF)and 77 nodular glomerulosclerosis(NOD)were all proven by renal biopsy.Data such as the durations of diabetes mellitus and hypertension, body mass index(BMI),diabetic retinopathy,HbA_1c,plasma albumin, proteinuria, urine N-acetyl-?,-glucosaminidase,urine osmolarity, ereatinine clearance rate(Ccr)were collected and compared.Results(1)Compared with the patients with DIF,the patients with NOD had longer duration of diabetes mellitus[(122.0?8.1 vs 56.0?7.8)months,P
