Objective To investigate the changes of sympathovagal balance and the effects of va- gus stimulation on sympathovagal balance in endotoxemia rats. Methods Twenty-four Spragne Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups. The frequency domain of heart rate variability(HRV)com- ponent was analyzed at 0 min,2 ,4 and 6 hours after intravenous injection of lipopolysaccharide(LPS, 5mg/kg)or physiologic saline, and cervical vagal nerve was stimulated(5mv,2ms,1Hz,5 min lasted, 20 min interval)when LPS or physiologic saline was injected. The levels of Noepinephine(NE)and Ace- tylcholin(ACh)were measured in liver tissues. Results Normalized low frequency(LFnm),hormali- zed high frequency(HFnm),very low frequency(VLF),LF/HF values and liver ACh were significantly increased(P<0.05)and the level of liver NE was significantly decreased (P<0.05)after LPS admin- istration.Vagal nerve stimulation markedly increased HFnm but decreased LFnm,VLF,LF/HF values, and the liver ACh also significant increased(P<0.05 ).Conclusion The results suggest that the ac- tivity of sympathetic and vagal nerve was increased during endotoxemia, but the sympathetic activity was more excitable than that of vagal nerve.Vagal nerve stimulation increased the tone of vagus nerve while the tone of sympathetic nerve was decreased in this study. This may be beneficial for anti-inflammatory activity of vagal nerve.

Objective:To observe the effect of moxibustion on T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood of rats with gastric cancer. Methods:Sixty healthy Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were adaptively fed for one week. By the random number table method, 10 rats were randomly selected as a blank group, and 12 rats were randomly selected to simulate the tumor transplantation process; after transplantation, 10 rats were randomly selected as a sham operation group. The remaining 38 rats were used to prepare gastric cancer models by gastric transplantation of the Walker-256 tumor tissue; 8 rats were randomly selected to verify the successful modeling after 7 d; the remaining 30 rats were randomly divided into a model group, a moxibustion group and an infrared group by the random number table method, with 10 rats in each group. From the first day of enrollment, the rats in the moxibustion group received mild moxibustion at Zhongwan (CV 12), Guanyuan (CV 4) and bilateral Zusanli (ST 36) (the first group) and bilateral Pishu (BL 20) and Weishu (BL 21) (the second group), and the two groups of acupoints were alternated every other day. The rats in the infrared group received infrared radiation on the stomach area and the area on the back between the T12-T13 spinous processes, the two areas were alternated every other day. Rats in the moxibustion group and the infrared group were treated for 20 min each time, once a day for 21 d. Rats in the blank group, the sham operation group, and the model group were simultaneously grasped and fixed, and no other treatment was performed. After 21 d of intervention, the rats in each group were fasted for 12 h, and blood was collected from the orbits. The numbers of CD3+, CD3+CD4+, CD3+CD8+ T lymphocytes in peripheral blood were determined by flow cytometry, and the ratio of CD3+CD4+/CD3+CD8+ was calculated. The rats were sacrificed and the thymus was dissected under sterile conditions to calculate the thymus index. Results:Compared with the blank group, the thymus index, peripheral blood CD3+, CD3+CD4+, CD3+CD8+ and CD3+CD4+/CD3+CD8+ ratio in the sham operation group did not change significantly (allP>0.05). Compared with the blank group, the thymus index of the model group was increased (P<0.05), the CD3+ and CD3+CD8+ T lymphocytes were increased (bothP<0.01), and the CD3+CD4+/CD3+CD8+ ratio was decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the thymus index of the moxibustion group was increased (P<0.01), and CD3+, CD3+CD4+ and CD3+CD8+ T lymphocytes and the ratio of CD3+CD4+/CD3+CD8+ in peripheral blood were increased (allP<0.05). Compared with the infrared group, the thymus index of the moxibustion group was significantly increased (P<0.05), the CD3+ and CD3+CD4+ T lymphocytes in the peripheral blood were significantly increased (bothP<0.01), and the CD3+CD8+ was increased (P<0.05). Conclusion:Moxibustion can significantly increase the thymus index of gastric cancer-bearing rats and activate CD3+CD4+ and CD3+CD8+ T lymphocytes in peripheral blood.

To study the effect of steaming and baking process on contents of alkaloids in Aconite Lateralis Radix (Fuzi), 13 alkaloids were analyzed by UPLC-MS/MS equipped with ESI ion source in MRM mode. In steaming process, the contents of diester-diterpenoid alkaloids decreased rapidly, the contents of monoester-diterpenoid alkaloids firstly increased, reached the peak at 40 min, and then deceased gradually. The contents of aconine alkaloids (mesaconine, aconine and hypaconine) increased all the time during processing, while the contents of fuziline, songorine, karacoline, salsolionl were stable or slightly decreased. In baking process, dynamic variations of alkaloids were different from that in the steaming process. Diester-diterpenoid alkaloids were degraded slightly slower than in steaming process. Monoester-diterpenoid alkaloids, aconine alkaloids and the total alkaloids had been destroyed at different degrees, their contents were significantly lower than the ones in steaming Fuzi at the same processing time. This experiment revealed the dynamic variations of alkaloids in the course of steaming and baking. Two processing methods which can both effectively remove the toxic ingredients and retain the active ingredients are simple and controllable, and are valuable for popularization and application.

Objective To examine the association between internet addiction and suicidal behaviors in adolescences and to explore whether the association could be partly or fully accounted by depression or/and behaviors related to the impulsity. Methods A total of 3507 urban adolescent students in Hefei were administered to complete the questionnaire concerning interact addiction disorder(IAD), suicidal behaviors during the 12 months preceding the survey, behaviors related to the impulsity, Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale and early childhood adversities, respectively. Hierarchical logistic regressions were used to evaluate the associations and possible roles of depression and behaviors related to the impulsity between internet addition and suicidal behaviors after adjustment for confounding factors. Results Of the 3507 participants, 5.2% were diagnosed as IAD, 27.4% reported suicidal ideation during the 12 months preceding the survey, with another 9.5% had a plan and 2.6% had an attempt. Internet addition was associated with suicidal ideation(OR=1.79, 95%CI: 1.32-2.44), plan(OR=2.32, 95%CI: 1.57-3.42), and attempt(OR=2.08, 95%CI:1.03-4.22). After adjustment for potential confounding factors, the association between internet addition and attempt was insignificant. When depression and behaviors related to the impulsity were entered into Hierarchical regression respectively, the associations between internet addition, suicidal ideation and plan were substantially reduced. While internet addition was enter into Hierarchical regression, the associations between depression, behaviors related to the impulsity, suicidal ideation and plan were not reduced. Conclusion Adolescent intemet addition seems to be associated with suicidal ideation and plan, and the association is possibly mediated by depression and behaviors related to the impulsity.

Objective To discuss the protective effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSC)on lung injury induced by vibrio vulnificus sepsis and its mechanism. Methods BMSCs were isolated by whole bone marrow adherent culture from mouse. Male ICR mice were randomly divided into normal saline control group(NS group),normal saline+BMSC control group(NSB group),vibrio vulnificus sepsis group(VV group),vibrio vulnificus sepsis + BMSC group(VVB group)according to random number table, with 40 mice in each group. Sepsis mouse model was reproduced by injecting vibrio vulnificus(1×107 cfu/mL)5 mL/kg through the left side peritoneal cavity, and caudal intravenous injection of BMSC(4×105 cfu/mL)5 mL/kg for intervention after model reproduction. Ten mice in each group were sacrificed at 6,12,24 or 48 hours after injecting vibiro vulnificus, and their lung tissues were harvested. The lung wet/dry(W/D)ratio was calculated. The expression of nuclear factor-κBp65(NF-κBp65)in nucleus was measured by Western Blot. The levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukins(IL-1β, IL-6)in lung tissue were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The pathological changes in lung tissue were observed after hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining and uranyl acetate-lead citrate staining. Results After vibrio vulnificus injection, lung W/D ratio, the expression of NF-κBp65 in nucleus, and the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β,IL-6 in the lung tissues were significantly increased in VV group compared with those in NS group at all the time points, and peaked at 12 hours. Compared with the VV group, the VVB group had significantly decreased levels of lung W/D ratio,NF-κBp65 expression, and the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,with significant differences at all the time points〔VV group vs. NS group at 12 hours:lung W/D ratio 7.22±0.03 vs. 5.21±0.02,NF-κBp65 expression (glay scale)1.86±0.74 vs. 0.75±0.07,TNF-α(ng/L)433.24±3.23 vs. 106.57±1.21,IL-1β(ng/L)35.64±0.15 vs. 10.64±0.48,IL-6(ng/L)58.84±0.55 vs. 17.69±1.35,all P<0.05;VVB group vs. VV group at 12 hours:lung W/D ratio 6.49±0.06 vs. 7.22±0.03,NF-κBp65 expression(A value)1.16±0.08 vs. 1.86±0.74,TNF-α(ng/L)357.22±3.25 vs. 433.24±3.23,IL-1β(ng/L)27.77±0.59 vs. 35.64±0.15,IL-6(ng/L)38.68±1.29 vs. 58.84±0.55,all P<0.05〕. There were no significant differences in above indexes between NS group and NSB group. In the NS and NSB groups pathological changes were not obvious under light microscopy,in the VV group lung tissue hyperemia and edema was significant, the edema fluid, red blood cells and inflammatory cells also could be seen, and in the VVB group lung damage that mentioned above could be alleviated. In the NS and NSB groups epithelial cell structure of type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ was completed, and the changes were not obvious under the transmission electron microscopy. In the VV group the alveolar walls were damaged significantly, with type Ⅰ epithelial cell cytoplasm swelling, bubbling and rupture, with type Ⅱ epithelial cells visible cytoplasm decrease, cavitation, addiction to osmium lamellar corpuscle emptying, lysosome hyperplasia, microvilli reduction, and in the VVB group the above damage was alleviated. Conclusion Vibrio vulnificus sepsis can cause acute lung damage and edema, and BMSC can down regulate inflammatory cytokines, reduce lung injury caused by vibrio vulnificus sepsis.

OBJECTIVEIsobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) combined with mass spectrometry were used to screen differentially expressed plasma proteins in cold stress rats.
METHODSThirty health SPF Wistar rats were randomly divided into cold stress group A and control group B, then A and B were randomly divided into 3 groups (n = 5): A1, A2, A3 and B1, B2, B3. The temperature of room raising was (24.0 +/- 0.1) degrees C, and the cold stress temperature was (4.0 +/- 0.1) degrees C. The rats were treated with different temperatures until 12 h. The abdominal aortic blood was collected with heparin anticoagulation suction tube. Then, the plasma was separated for protein extraction, quantitative, enzymolysis, iTHAQ labeling, scx fractionation and mass spectrometry analysis.
RESULTSTotally, 1085 proteins were identified in the test, 39 differentially expressed proteins were screened, including 29 up-regulated proteins and 10 down-regulated proteins. Three important differentially expressed proteins related to cold stress were screened by bioinfonnatics analysis (Minor histocompatihility protein HA-1, Has-related protein Rap-1b, Integrin beta-1).
CONCLUSIONIn the experiment, the differentially expressed plasma proteins were successfully screened in cold stress rats. iTRAQ technology provided a good platform to screen protein diaguostic markers on cold stress rats, and laid a good foundation for further. study on animal cold stress mechanism.
