·AIM:To report a case of entry of antibiotic ointment into the anterior chamber following sutureless clear corneal incisions phacoemulsification.·METHODS:A 62-year-old man had uneventful phaco-emulsification with clear corneal incisions with intraocular lens(IOL) implantation. Postoperative medication included antibiotic/steroid ointment; the eye was firmly patched at the end of the procedure. On the first postoperative day, the patient was seen an oily droplet floating in the anterior chamber. Immediate surgical removal of the ointment without IOL exchange was performed.·RESULTS:During follow-up for six months after irrigation/aspiration of the anterior chamber and removal of the oily droplet, visual acuity and intraocular pressure (IOP) were unchanged and anterior segment was formed and quiet.·CONCLUSION:Ophthalmic ointment may ingress into the anterior chamber through unstable clear corneal incisions. The case highlights the importance of appropriate wound construction and integrity, as well as the risk of tight eye patching following placement of ointment.

Objective The aim of this paper is to know about the pollution of microcystin-LR(MC-LR)in Fenhe First reservoir and Fenhe Second reservoir in Taiyuan and provide reference for making the policy of prevention microcystin-LR pollution. Methods During the low water period(May,2005)and common period(Oct,2005),5 liter water was sampled in the entrance, the center and the exit in Fenhe First reservoir and Fenhe Second reservoir respectively. The concentrations of MC-LR in two reservoirs were determined by the high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Results The average concentration (0.875 ?g/L)of MC-LR in low water period was 3 time of that(0.283 ?g/L)in common period in Fenhe First reservoir. The average concentration(0.815 ?g/L)of MC-LR in low water period was 17 time of that(0.048 ?g/L)in common period in Fenhe Second reservoir. The level of MC-LR in the entrance was the highest, that in the exit was the lowest, that in the center was middle. The concentration of MC-LR of the entrance in low water period was more than the MC-LR limit(1 ?g/L)in Life drinking water hygienic guide(2001).Conclusion MC-LR pollution has been found in Fenhe First reservoir and Fenhe Second reservoir and the pollution is serious in low water period.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical and pathological characteristics of dermatomyositis with muscular perifascicular atrophy (PFA).MethodsA series of 104 consecutive patients clinically and pathologically diagnosed as dermatomyositis by muscle biopsy in our laboratory from December,2003 to August,2011,were enrolled in this study. Muscle biopsy of all the enrolled patients had shown PFA of muscle fibers.ResultsAmong the 104 patients,34 were males and 70 were females with a mean age of 45 years old.Among them,8 cases had normal electromyogram;42 had normal serum creatine kinase level;11 were diagnosed as carcinoma;75 were found to be combined with interstitial lung disease (ILD).Based on morphologic changes of muscle biopsy, they were divided into pure PFA group with 54 cases and PFA plus focal damage group with 50 cases.Compared with the pure PFA group, there was prominent mononuclear cell infiltration into perimysial intermediate sized vessels and membrane attack complement (MAC) deposition in the intramuscular capillaries in the PFA plus group.Skin biopsy had been taken in 12 cases together with muscle biopsy and had shown the border effectof both PFA and interface dermatitis in muscle and skin.ConclusionsOur study suggests that chronic immune vascular damage and insufficiency in dermatomyositis may cause ischemia and focal myofiber damage in watershed regions. The incidence of ILD in our dermatomyositis patients with PFA is high.

Objective To conduct a meta?analysis of literatures to explore the relationship of UGT1A1*6 gene polymorphism and irinotecan toxici?ty,so as to guide clinical treatment. Methods Papers were searched by PubMed database and manual search. The inclusion and exclusion criteria of studies were formulated and the methodologies quality was assessed, data were extracted and the statistical analysis was made using STATA12.0 software. Results A total of 12 articles were included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Patients with mutated UGT1A1*6 showed an increased risk for neutropenia compared to wild UGT1A1*6(OR=2.37,95%CI 1.58?3.55,P=0.001). Both homozygous and heterozygous muta?tion showed an increased risk for neutropenia compared to wild type and the homozygous mutation(OR=5.09,95%CI 2.74?9.45,P<0.001) showed an even higher risk for neutropenia compared to the heterozygous mutation(OR=2.07,95%CI 1.37?3.13,P=0.001). For severe diarrhea, mutated UGT1A1*6 showed an increased risk compared to wild type(OR=1.48,95%CI 0.86?2.55,P=0.153),though without statistical signifi?cance. The homozygous mutation performed a significantly increased risk(OR=3.51,95%CI 1.33?9.25,P=0.011)and the heterozygous mutation also showed increased risk, however, the difference between them was not statistically significant. Conclusion UGT1A1*6polymorphisms can pre?dict irinotecan toxicity, especially for incidence of neutropenia.

Objective To identify the miR-122 which regulateing GATA4 expression during the induction of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (bMSCs) differentiating into cardiomyocyte-like cells. Methods BMSCs were isolat-ed from bone marrow and induced to differentiate into cardiomyocyte-like cells using 5-azacytidine. The miR-122 which may regulate expression of GATA4 were predicted using miRanda and TargetScan softwares and identified by dual luciferase report system. The expressions of miR-122 and GATA4 were determined using q-PCR during the differentiation of bMSCs into cardiomyocyte-like cells. Results The induced cells were completely in contacted with adjoining cells and uniform in shape and aligned parallelly. Cardiac troponin I (cTnI) expression was detected by immunofluorescence cytochemistry. Using dual luciferase reporter system in vitro, miR-122 were proved to be able to effectively inhibit GATA4 expression by binding the 3′UTR of GATA4 mRNA. q-PCR results showed that the expression of miR-122 is negatively correlated with that of GATA4 mRNA transcription. Conclusion These results indicated that miR-122 regulate the expression of GATA4 during the induction of cardiomyocyte-like cells.
