Objective To study the imaging features and the reason of misdiagnosis of multi-nodular bronchioalveolar carcinoma(BAC).Methods 33 cases with the BAC proved by pathology,were reviewed,including 20 males and 13 females,the age ranged from 34～76 years with an average age of 54.2 years.X-ray there were over twice X-ray filmes in all cases,and CT scans with GE 9800 Quick were performed in 30 cases . The imaging features were analysed . Results Imaging findings : Miliary noduli were inhomogeneous in distribution,size and density.The large noduli generally located at the periphery of lung or under the pleura and noduli were focused together,“vacuole sign” was present in 72.7% cases and the noduli were around the vacuole,and lobulated.69.7% of nodule focuses were in company with consolidatory shade . The rate of X-ray misdiagnosis was 75.8%, in which 72.0% were misdiagnosed as TB . CT misdiagnostic rate was 36.4%.The misdiagnostic reasons were unsufficient in consideration of clinical symptom and imaging findings.Conclusion The BAC is the developmental stage of cancer.The accurate diagnosis can be improved if clinical-imaging features are analysed properly,and reexamination and comparison are taken carefully.

Objective To explore the effects of extract of Gingko biloba leaves (EGb) on learning, memory and hippoeampal heine oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in diabetic rats.Methods The behaviors of streptozotoein-induced diabetic rats were observed by Morris water maze for learning and memory after 6 months of diabetes.The HO-1 mRNA expression and protein expression in hippocampus of diabetic rats were detected by RT- PCR and immunohistochemistry respectively.Results The escape latency time in Morris water maze of diabetic rats was prolonged markedly.HO-1 mRNA and HO-1 protein expressions in hippocampus of diabetic rats were increased (1.635?0.326 vs 0.978?0.214,7.2?1.7 vs 1.9?0.5,respectively,both P＜0.01).The escape latency times in EGb (100,50 mg/kg) treated groups were shortened.HO-1 mRNA and HO-1 protein expressions in hippocampus were decreased at the same time as compared with diabetic group (100 mg/kg:0.954?0.144,2.0?0.8;50 mg/kg:0.988?0.154,2.5?0.6,all P＜0.01).Conclusion EGb can significantly inhibit HO-1 expression in hippocampus and improve learning and memory dysfunction in diabetic rats.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combination therapy of Xipayimaizipizi Capsules and Tamsulo- sin in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

METHODSWe randomly assigned 60 BPH patients to a control and a combination group of equal number, the former aged 62.03 ± 10.19 years with a disease course of 3.24 ± 2.18 years and the latter aged 64.77 ± 10.33 years with a disease course of 4.09 ± 2.63 years. We treated the patients in the control group with Tamsulosin at 0.2 mg qd and those in the combination group with Tamsulosin at 0.2 mg qd plus Xipayimaizipizi at 0.5 g tid, respectively, both for 4 weeks. Then, we obtained the mean frequency of nocturnal urination, maximal urinary flow rate (Qmax), residual urine volume, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) , and quality of life scores (QOL) of the patients, and recorded their adverse reactions.

RESULTSBefore treatment, the nocturnal urination frequency, Qmax, IPSS, and QOL were 3.60 ± 1.81, (10.40 ± 3.53) ml/min, 22.47 ± 8.58, and 4.43 ± 1.50 in the control group, as compared with 3.43 ± 1.61, (10.14 ± 3.43) ml/min, 21.93 ± 8.79, and 4.73 ± 1.31 in the combination group. After 4 weeks of medication, the combination group showed more significant improvement than the control in the nocturnal urination frequency (1.30 ± 1.18 vs 2.27 ± 1.60), Qmax ([13.85 ± 3.15] vs [14.36 ± 3.03] ml/min), IPSS (13.00 ± 1.53 vs 17.20 ± 8.43), and QOL (2.57 ± 1.61 vs 2.93 ± 1.68), all significantly better than the baseline (P < 0.05). The combination therapy achieved remarkable improvement as compared with the control in the nocturnal urination frequency (- [2.13 ± 1.11] vs -[1.73 ± 1.07]), IPSS (- [8.93 ?6.01] vs -[4.80 ± 3.87]), and QOL (- [2.17 ± 1.12] vs -[1.50 ± 1.01]) (P < 0.05), but exhibited no significant differences from the latter in Qmax ([3.72 ± 2.281 vs [3.95 ± 2.53] ml/min) and residual urine volume (- [34.30 ± 37.43] vs - [26.43 ± 30.49] ml) (P > 0.05). Adverse reactions were found in 5 cases in the combination group (16.67%) and 3 cases in the control (10%) , with no remarkable differences between the two groups (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe combination therapy of Xipayimaizipizi Capsules and Tamsulosin can improve the symptoms of BPH and the patients quality of life of.

The strain F12-11-1-2 was isolated from the East China Sea,which had antimitosis activity using Pyricularia oryzae mode.Ac- cording to phenotypical study,salt-aggregation test and 16S rDNA sequence analysis,the strain F12-11-1-2 has been identified to be Bacillus subtilis.

AIM To prepare chrysin solid lipid nanoparticles and to evaluate their pharmacokinetic behaviors.METHODS The particle size,Zeta potential and in vitro release rate of nanoparticles prepared by emulsification uhrasonication-low temperature solidification method were determined.Twelve SD rats were randomly divided into two groups and were intragastrically given suspensions of crude drug and nanoparticles,respectively.HPLC was used for the content determination of chrysin in plasma,after which blood drug concentration-time curves were drawn,and pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated.RESULTS The obtained nanoparticles demonstrated the particle size of (207.15 ±30.59) nm,PDI of (0.224 ±0.067) and Zeta potential of (-34.8 ±5.9) mV,respectively,whose accumulative release rate reached 84.36％ within 36 h.Their Cmax [(9.04 ± 1.52) μg/mL] and AUC0～t,[(33.67 ± 3.47) μg · h/mL] were much higher than those of the crude drug (P ＜ 0.01).CONCLUSION Solid lipid nanoparticles can promote the oral absorption and bioavailability of chrysin,with significant sustained-release characteristics.

In order to establish the stable andreliable ISSR-PCR System of Lysimachia christinae, L16 (4(5)) orthogonal design, which based on 7 levels of single factor experiment, were used in this study. The variance analysis was carried out by SPSS 19.0, and 5 main factors affecting the reaction system were optimized in 4 levels. The best annealing temperature was selected by the optimized reaction system. And the stability and reliability of this system was tested by 23 samples from different origins. The results showed that the five factors (DNA template, primer, dNTP, Mg2+ and Taq enzyme) were the most impacts on the amplified results of ISSR-PCR of L. christinae. The order of the influence was: primer > Taq enzyme > DNA template > Mg2+ > dNTP. The optimal system, which was determined by multiple comparison on different levels of each factor, was total volume of 25 microL, including DNA template 60 ng, primer 0.3 micromol x L(-1), dNTP 0.2 mmol x L(-1), Mg2+ 1.8 mmol x L(-1), Taq enzyme 1.25 U. The optimal system was stable and reliable tested by 23 samples from different origins. This study lays the foundation for genetic diversity analysis, fine varieties selection and molecular identification of L. christinae, and provides reference for optimization on ISSR-PCR system of other speciesin future.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of focused ultrasound for patients with white lesions of the vulva,as well as its safety and feasibility.Methods Clinical data of 941 patients with white lesions of the vulva treated with focused ultrasound from June 2003 to December 2005 were retrospectively reviewed.The mean age of the patients was 40.8 years(18-70 years)and the median course of the disease was 6.2 years(3 months-45 years).Meanwhile,pathological diagnosis was performed in all the patients before treatment,in which 498 cases were squamous hyperplasia,342 cases were lichen sclerosus and 101 cases were lichen sclerosus with squamous hyperplasia.Patients were followed up and therapeutic effects of focused ultrasound was evaluated at 6 and 12 months after the treatment,respectively.The symptoms of pruritus in the vulva and the changes in the color and elasticity of the vulvar lesions were observed.Results Of all the patients,900 were followed up after the treatment,and the ratio of effectiveness was 94.9%.Only 46 patients(5.1%)had no response to the therapy.Of the effective patients,434 cases were completely cured(48.2%),and 420 cases were improved(46.7%).Pruritus of vulva recurred in 101 patients (11.2%)one year after treatment;however,these patients still had a response to the second or third treatment.Conclusions Focused ultrasound therapy is a highly effective instrument in treatment of white lesions of the vulva.It can not only relieve the symptoms of itching,but is also helpful in recovering the color and elasticity of the vulva.

Laggera pterodonta is commonly used for treating influenza in Southwest China, especially in Yunnnan province. The main clinical effects of L. pterodonta include anti-influenza, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory. To investigate the anti-influenza A (H1N1) virus effect of L. pterodonta, neutralization inhibition and proliferation inhibition tests were performed. MDCK culture method was used to observe the cytopathic effect (CPE) of extracts from L. pterodonta in inhibiting influenza A (H1N1) virus and haemagglutination titre of H1N1 virus in vitro. The culture medium were collected at 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 96 h, and detected by Real time RT-PCR, in order to compare the effect of different extracts from L. pterodonta on in vitro proliferation of H1N1, virus. The result of neutralization inhibition test showed that hemagglutination titer of ethyl acetate extract were 8 times lower at 72 h; in proliferation inhibition test, hemagglutination titer of ethyl acetate extracts reduced by 2 and 4 times. According to the results of Real time RT-PCR test, the H1N1 inhibition ratio of ethyl acetate extract was 72.5%, while the proliferation inhibition ratio of ethyl acetate extract was 25.3%; as for petroleum ether extracts, the H1N1 inhibition ratio was 60.2%, while the proliferation inhibition ratio was 81.4%. In conclusion, both ethyl acetate extract and petroleum ether extract of L. pterodonta have significant neutralization and direct proliferation inhibition effects on influenza A virus.
