AIM: To explore the nursing cooperation highlights of eight osteopetrosis patients underwent optic nerve decompression via transsphenoidal microsurgical approach instead of routine pathway, and to improve the quality of nursing cooperation. ·METHODS: We enrolled 8 cases ( left eye in 3 cases, right eye in 5 cases ) of osteopetrosis patients referred from the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University during February 2012 to November 2016. Patients received ophthalmic examinations including visual acuity and diagnostic imaging tests in pre-operation and post -operation. All eyes were performed surgical optic nerve decompression through endoscopic approach in assist of image guidance system. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data and surgical cooperation procedure of these cases and summarized nursing cooperation experience. ·RESULTS:The operations of 8 patients were completed successfully without massive hemorrhage. Mean visual acuity improved from pre-operation (2. 5±2. 1) to post-operation (3. 4±1. 9). Cerebrospinal fluid leakage occurred in 1 patient and was instantly repaired during the operation. We performed the nursing strategy as postural drainage, condition monitoring and conscious assessment intra-and post-operation. ·CONCLUSION: It is the critical for this kind of surgery that both circulating nurse's high-skilled cooperation to the connection and operation of the navigation system, to treat with complication during the surgery, and scrub nurse's sufficient preparation of surgical instruments and consumables, proficient equipment delivery, meticulous management, use and maintenance of equipment.

To explore the epidemiological character of Methicillin-resistant Stapkylococcus aureus (MRSA) by the phenotyping and genotyping motheds and to investgate the source, transmission, and the spread of nosocomial MRSA infection, consequently, reducing the nosocomial infection of MRSA. In this study, 19 MRSA strains were isolated from patients and environment in a hospital in two months. Patterns of resistantce against 16 antimicrobial agents and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis ( PFGE) of these strains were analyzed to find the relationship among those isolates Clustering analysis was made from the patterns. Some isolates with high homology was found in 19 MRSA, 11 of them belong to type A, and 8 of them belong to the same subtype A1. They were endemic in burn ward, oncological ward and ICU. In addition, 4 isolates were clustered into group B, all found in the same ward of burn unit Thus, our results indicated a outbreak of MRSA ( A type) in this hospital and the potential prevalence of MRSA (B type) , which might be mediated by health care stuff. It is essential to enhance the infection control implementation and to utilize the PFGE genotyping system for the real-time surveillance of MRSA.

3T3-LI preadipocytes were induced to differentiate and 3T3-L1 adipocyte or preadipocytes were incubated with oleate or palmitate overnight.RT-PCR was used to measure adiponectin receptor(AdipoR)1 and AdipoR2 mRNA levels.The results showed that the AdipoRl and AdipoR2 expressions were differentiation- dependent.Oleate only suppressed AdipoR mRNA expression in preadipocyte but not in adipocyte.However,high concentration of palmitate reduced AdipoR mRNA expression in both 3T3-LI preadipocyte and adipocyte.

BACKGROUND:This systematic review aims to investigate the prediction value of diffusion tensor imaging for motor function recovery of ischemic stroke patients. METHODS:Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) (the Cochrane Library 2016, Issue 9), PubMed, Embase, Clarivate Analytics, Scopus, CINAHL, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Google Scholar were searched for either motor recovery or corticospinal tract integrity by diffusion tensor imaging in different stroke phase from January 1, 1970, to October 31, 2016. The study design and participants were subjected to metrological analysis. Correlation coefficient (r) was used for evaluating the relationship between fractional anisotropy (FA) and motor function outcome. Correlation coefficient values were extracted from each study, and 95％ confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated by Fisher's z transformation. Meta-analysis was conducted by STATA software. RESULTS:Fifteen studies with a total of 414 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that FA in the subacute phase had the significant correlation with motor function outcome (ES=0.75, 95％CI 0.62-0.87), which showed moderate quality based on GRADE system. The weight correlation coefficient revealed that an effect size (ES) of FA in acute phase and chronic phase was 0.51 (95％CI 0.33-0.68) and 0.62 (95％CI 0.47-0.77) respectively. CONCLUSION:This meta-analysis reveals that FA in the subacute phase after ischemic stroke is a good predictor for functional motor recovery, which shows moderate quality based on the GRADE system.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the main point of long backbone fracture caused by blunt force in forensic clinical identification and to provide a reference for the inspection and appraisal practices of such injury. METHODS: Ninety-nine cases of adult long backbone fractures were collected from January 2006 to December 2013 in Gutian County of Fujian Province. According to the terms of fracture location, mode of injury, type, the data were summarized. RESULTS: In the 99 cases, there were 36 cases caused by hitting, kicking, and falling and 63 cases caused by vehicle collision. The majority of the former was ulna, and those of the latter were tibia and fibula. The types of fracture were transverse one, short oblique one, long oblique one, and spiral one. CONCLUSION Different types of long backbone fracture, not only causing stress load of fractures as well as structural differences related to each segment.

Objective To investigate the nurses' attitude and demand about E-learning when carrying out the continuing nursing education. Methods 158 registered nurses were surveyed using the self-designed questionnaire in one third grade first class hospital in Beijing. Results 93.6% nurses had the condition of on-line learning, and 76.6% nurses accepted the method of study by E-learning. The contents of traditional mode that could be substituted by E-learning mostly involved the parts of Ethics and law, teaching and scientific research, theoretical knowledge, etiquette and communication. The nursing manipulative skill could not be learned only through E-learning mode. Conclusions Most nurses accept the E-learning and have the conditions. It should select the courses that suit to the E-learning study, establish an effective monioring and assessment system, and adequately exploit the advantages of E-learning model, thereby ensuring the effects of continuing education.

Objective To investigate the relationship between expression of surfactant protein B (SP-B) gene product and neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS) in Han ethnic group.Methods Unrelated 20 cases with NRDS of Han ethnic group were selected as NRDS group while unrelated 20 cases of Han ethnic group with other diseases were selected as a control. The cases in the control group had congenital heart disease or bronchopulmonary dysplasia or persistent pulmonary artery hypertension. Blood sample was taken from each case. Lung tissues were taken from the patients in half an hour after their death in the two groups. Expression of SP-B in the lung tissues was determined with immunohistochemical technique. Genetic deficiency variant of SP-B intron Ⅳ was screened with polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Results Two cases at gestational age of 26 weeks, one at 34 weeks and two at 42 weeks in the NRDS groups had lower expression level of SP-B in the lung tissues than those at the same age in the the control group. Expression of SP-B in the lung tissues of the control group increased with gestational age, but no such phenomenon was found in NRDS group. Further two cases at gestational age 42 weeks of NRDS group had genetic deficiency variant of SP-B intron Ⅳ with gene analysis of five cases who had lower expression of SP-B. Clinical data suggest that patients at 42 weeks of gestational age had severe illness.Conclusion Decrease of SP-B expression may be involved in occurrence of NRDS, genetic deficiency variant of SP-B intron Ⅳ exists in NRDS cases of Han ethnic group of China.

Objective To investigate the changes and pathogenic significance of serum interleukin-12p70 (IL-12), intefferon-γ,(IFN-γ) and IL-4 in the course of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS). Methods Twenty five eases were divided into mild group (14 eases) and severe group (11 cases) according to the severity of illness. Blood samples were collected in various stages(fever, hypotensian and oliguria,diuresis stage). Serum IL-12 and IFN-γ levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunoserbent assay(ELISA), IL-4 by radioimmunoassay (RIA), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and platelet by automatic biochemical analyzer and blood analyzer. Results Serum IL-12 levels in mild and severe groups were significantly different during various stages of HFRS (F=5.765, P<0.01). The IL-12 level of both patient groups significantly increased(P<0.01) in fever[ (0.87±0.38), (1.08± 0.77)μg/L], hypotension and oliguria [ (0.77±0.21), (2.11±2.13)μg/L] ,and diuresis stage [ (1.42±1.10), (1.20±0.88)μg/L], compared with control group [(0.56±0.10)μg/L]. In various stages, IFN-γ levels of both case groups were respectively (8.04±13.05), (5.94±8.24), (15.95±18.05), (4.41±4.10), (1.09±1.24), (1.38±1.74), (1.12±1.26), (0.19±1.29)μg/L, and the difference was statistically significant compared with control [ (0.27±0.15)rig/L]. K,-4 levels did not change significantly in the stages(F=0.682, P0.05), while the ratios of IFN-γ and IL-4 contents in mild and severe cases were significantly higher than control [(0.36±0.26) μg/L] in fever[ (2.46±3.52), (16.92±22.77)p.g/L], hypotension and oliguria[(2.52±2.72), (1.77±2.06) μg/L],diuresis stage [(1.45±2.28), (2.32±3.98)μg/L], the difference had statically significant (P<0.05 or 0.01).The curve of IL-12 was similar to that of BUN, but was contrary to blood platelet count. Conclusions The elevated levels of IL-12 and IFN-γ, with the imbalance of Th1/Th2 might be the main cause of systemic inflammatoryresponse and involved in the pathogenesis of HFRS.

Objective To investigate the effect of lemon peel extracts(LPE) on the activity of lactate dehydrogenase and sucrase of Streptococcus mutans (Sm). Methods After serial dilution with trypticase soy broth (TSB) medium containing 2% glucose, LPE was used as the experimental group, and TSB without LPE as the control group. Sm was added to each group,which was then cultured for 6,18,24 and 48 hours in the anaerobic tank. The activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was measured with the method of oxidation of reduction coenzyme I and the pH value of the culture solution was also detected. The activity of the sucrose was determined with the method of coloration of 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid. Results The activity of LDH, sucraae and the changes of solution pH were decreased with the increase of the concentration of LPE (P ＜ 0. 01 ). The activity of LDH were declined from (0. 8025 ± 0. 0913 ) × 103 U/L to (0. 2099 ±0. 0283) × 103 U/L; the activity of sucrase were declined from ( -0. 0107 ±0. 0003) × 103 U/L to ( -0.0078 ±0.0002) × 103 U/L; the△pH were declined from(2.8067 ±0.0404) to (2.5033 ±0. 0416) (24 h results). The differences were significant between experimental groups and the control group (P ＜ 0. 01 ), and there were also significant differences among experimental groups with different LPE concentration( P ＜0. 01 ). The inhibitory effect of acid generation and lactate dehydrogenas' activity of Sm were positively correlated ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). Conclusions LPE can inhibit the activity of lactate dehydrogenase,sucrase and the acid production capacity of the Sm in a dose dependent manner. The inhibitory effects in logarithmic phase is stronger than that in other phases of growth cycle.
