Objective To explore the effect of conventional western medicine combined with Qiangxin Tongmai decotion in the treatment of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).Methods According to the digital table,60 patients with CHF were randomly divided into two groups,30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,while the treatment group received combination therapy of conventional western medicine and Qiangxin Tongmai decotion.The heart function and plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) level were observed.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.3％,which was significantly higher than 70.0％ of the control group (x2 =5.455,P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,the level of BNP in the treatment group was (211.3 ± 87.7) ng/L,which was significantly lower than that of the control group [(410.8 ± 94.3) ng/L] (t =8.485,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Qiangxin Tongmai decotion can obviously improve the heart function and reduce the level of BNP in patients with CHF.

Objective To explore whether expertise-novice effect on representational momentum exist among athletes in the university football and volleyball team and common college students.Methods We used implied motion paradigm in experiment 1 and smooth motion paradigm in experiment 2.Results There were no significant differences on representation momentum among football players,volleyball players and college students in the implied motion paradigm.When moving to the right at a high speed,college students' displacement was larger than athletes in smooth motion paradigm,but no significant differences were found between football and volleyball players in the displacement.Conclusion The expertise-novice effect on representational momentum has been found under the condition of high speed and moving right using smooth paradigm.There is no difference between football and volleyball on representational momentum.

Aim To explore the effects of Nimodipine(NDP) treatment on the expression of neural cell adhesion molecule(NCAM) after the ischemic brain injury in rats.Methods One hundred male Wistar rats(180~220g) were randomly divided into four groups:sham operation control group(SOCG,n=10),cerebral ischemia control group(CICG,1,3,7 d,n=30),high and low dose Nimodipine treatment group(H-NTG,L-NTG,1,3,7 d,n=10).Their middle cerebral arteries of CICG and NTG were blocked by filament forming brain injured,the NTG groups were treated with NDP(0.5 mg?kg-1 and 1mg?kg-1),respectively.and then,their cerebral blood flow was reperfused.Their blood vessel shape of cerebri surface was observed and the expression of NCAM was determined,after neurologic impairment(NIP) was scored and regional cerebral blood flow(RCBF) was surveyed,respectively.Results 3 d,7 d PO2 of H-NTG were higher than those of CICG(P

The mechanism and pathophysiological progress of ischemia/reperfusion are complicated,and all the factors influence each other.This article summarized recent development on the related factors of inflammatory reaction mechanism.

Objective To investigate to the role of Angelica sinensis polysaccharides (ASP) against hepatic encephalopathy and explore the probable mechanism. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were established into carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced liver cirrhosis,then treated with distilled water (negative control),lactulose (positive control),ASP solution (10,20 and 40 g/L respectively,intragastrically at dose of 10 ml.kg-1.d-1) for 14 days. On 15th day,all the survival rats were intraperitoneally injected with endotoxin (3 mg/kg) once,then in the following 12 h,the rats that fall into coma were counted and the time period of coma was recorded. The blood plasma concentrations of ammonia,serum glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (GPT) and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) were determined. The apoptotic cerebral cells were dyed in situ by TUNEL. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in astrocytes was determined by immunohistochemical method. Then we counted the apoptotic cerebral cells and GFAP positive cells under light microscope. Results The survival rats in distilled water group were highest in the concentrations of ammonia,GPT and GOT,the amount of apoptotic cerebral cells,and coma rate than the rats in other groups. The rats in 40 g/L ASP group had the higher ammonia level,GOT concentration,coma rate than those in lactulose group. The rats in 3 ASP groups all had less apoptotic cerebral cells than those in lactulose group. As to GFAP,distilled water group had the lowest immunological activity,and the GFAP immunological positive cells of 3 ASP groups were all more than those in lactulose group. Conclusion ASP,even more effective than lactulose,can protect rat brain function and delay the occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy,whose effects may be related to the decrease of blood ammonia,the amelioration of liver function as well as the protection of astrocyte function and neuronic activity.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia in the elderly population. The occurrence of dementia correlates with inflammation. Inflammation processes may play a critical role in the pathogenesi s of the degenerative changes and cognitive impairments associated with Alzheime r's disease. Cyclooxygense-2 (COX-2) inhibitors are reported to be e ffective in reducing the risk of developing AD or cognitive impairments. Studies on this field are of important significance in the understanding the pathogenes is and therapeutic measures for AD. This review will discuss the progress in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease by COX-2 inhibitors.

During past twenty years (1973～1992), the cancer mortality was increasing significantly in China.For cancer prevention and control nationwide, the primary prevention is important. Pity is that it usually takes longer time to decrease cancer mortality and liable to benefit younger generation. In practice, the secondary prevention, which put emphasis on the massive screening, early detection and early treatment,would decrease the cancer mortality as well as cancer incidences in relatively short time. Therefore, it would contribute much to the local social and economic development and improve the health insurance. In the high risk areas of cancers, such as cervical, esophageal, gastric, liver and nasopharyngeal cancers,the secondary prevention could be carried out as more effective strategy for cancer prevention in China.

Objective To explore the operation timing and technique selection of floating knee injury in children.Methods According to Letts types,36 cases were divided into 5 types.The function outcome in every group was compared by Karlstrorm criterion according operation timing or technique selection respectively.Results Thirty-six cases were followed up for an average of 25 months(19 to 84 months).The rate of excellent and good results accounted for 94.12%(16/17) in one stage operation,78.95%(15/19)in stages,60%(6/10)in 2 stages,respectively.Conclusions It may be recommended to treat children with floating knee injury with open reduction intenal fixation or external fixation.The best operation time shall be urgent treatment of both femur and tibia fracture.
