OBJECTIVETo assess the efficacy of tendons of minimally invasive therapy (TMIT) combined drug therapy by comparing it with treatment by drug therapy alone on patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA).
METHODSTotally 60 KOA patients were assigned to the treatment group and the control group according to random digit table, 30 in each group. Patients in the control group took Hydrochloric Acid Glucosamine Capsule and Celecoxib Capsule. Patients in the treatment group additionally received TMIT. The treatment course for all was 4 weeks. Scores for visual analogue scale (VAS) and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) Osteoarthritis Index were observed and recorded at week 1 and 4 after treatment by acupotomology mirror.
RESULTSCompared with before treatment, improvement was shown in VAS score, pain and stiffness degrees, activities and functions, and WOMAC scores at week 1 and 4 after treatment in all patients with statistical difference (P < 0.05). Besides, better effect was shown in the treatment group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSTMIT combined drug therapy could relieve KOA patients' pain, stiffness and joint activities, elevate the overall efficacy. TMIT was easily operated with less injury.

Objective To investigate the changes of sympathovagal balance and the effects of va- gus stimulation on sympathovagal balance in endotoxemia rats. Methods Twenty-four Spragne Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups. The frequency domain of heart rate variability(HRV)com- ponent was analyzed at 0 min,2 ,4 and 6 hours after intravenous injection of lipopolysaccharide(LPS, 5mg/kg)or physiologic saline, and cervical vagal nerve was stimulated(5mv,2ms,1Hz,5 min lasted, 20 min interval)when LPS or physiologic saline was injected. The levels of Noepinephine(NE)and Ace- tylcholin(ACh)were measured in liver tissues. Results Normalized low frequency(LFnm),hormali- zed high frequency(HFnm),very low frequency(VLF),LF/HF values and liver ACh were significantly increased(P<0.05)and the level of liver NE was significantly decreased (P<0.05)after LPS admin- istration.Vagal nerve stimulation markedly increased HFnm but decreased LFnm,VLF,LF/HF values, and the liver ACh also significant increased(P<0.05 ).Conclusion The results suggest that the ac- tivity of sympathetic and vagal nerve was increased during endotoxemia, but the sympathetic activity was more excitable than that of vagal nerve.Vagal nerve stimulation increased the tone of vagus nerve while the tone of sympathetic nerve was decreased in this study. This may be beneficial for anti-inflammatory activity of vagal nerve.

Objective To explore the clinical and pathologic characteristic of deep fungus infection under mechanical ventilation in neonate. Method The clinical datas of 18 neonates under mechanical ventilation approved with deep fungus infection by autopsy from 1985 to 2003 in our department were collected and analyzed. Results In 18 infants who survived deep fungus infection,2 cases were premature and 16 cases were mature, the birth weight and the numbers of patients were:2500 g 2 cases;Time under mechanical ventilation was 8-86 days and the average time under mechanical ventilation was 13 days. The pathogen caused deep fungus infection was Aspergillus(8/18),Candida albicans(6/18) and Mucor(4/18),respectively. The infected organ were lung(12/18),brain(2/18),liver(4/18) and gastrointestinal tract(2/18),respectively.Two of them were found been infected in lung and liver at the same time. Conclusions We must attach importance to deep fungus infection in neonate under machine ventilation.Aspergillus and Candida albicans were the main pathogen bacteria and lung was the main infected organ of neonatal deep fungus infection.Early diagnosis may be the efficiency approach to increase livability.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1992;0(06):-
Objective To explore the extent of lung injury induced by hyperoxia, and the activity of ubiquitin-proteasome pathway(UPP) in pathophysiological progress of lung tissue in early stages. Methods Adopted completely random design,20 SD rats were divided into hyperoxia group and air control group. For the air control group, the oxygen concentration exiting the cages was analyzed with oxygen monitor and oxygen concentration remained at 210 mL/L for 72 hours;while in the hyperoxia group, the condition changed into high-density oxygen(950 mL/L) for 72 hours to estimate the hyperoxia lung injury in rats model. The contents linked morphology as pathological classification in gross finding, pathological score of lung injury and the index of pneumonedema-the ratio of moist to dry weight of lungs were mea-sured.The expressions of ubiquitin protein and the activity of proteasome 20 S and the active statement of ubiquitin-proteasome pathway were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot methods. Results 1.The hyperoxia lung injury rat model was successfully duplicated.2.In hyperoxia group, pulmonary edema with increased ratio of moist to dry weight of lungs could be found(P=0).3.Macroscopic observation: bright red and full-stacked lung tissue, foliated or local hemorrhage on the surface, but little pleural effusion was observed in hyperoxia group. There was statistical significance of pathological classification in gross finding between hyperoxia group and air control group(P=0.005).Light microscope observation:swelled alveolar epithelium, widened alveoli wall, capillary engorgement and telangiectasis, obvious edema in interstitial tissue of pulmonary aveolus and alveolar space, increased inflammatory cells were observed in hyperoxia group. The findings of pathological score of lung injury indicated more serious injure than control group(P=0).4.The increased expression of ubiquitin protein in lung tissue was discoved by using immunohistochemistry and Western blot findings after hyperoxia exposure 72 hours.(P=0).5.The acti-vity of proteasomes 20 S in hyperoxia group was higher than that in control group(P=0).Conclusions The mainly pathological changes of lung are generated through hyperoxic exposure for 72 hours, including alveolar epithelial cell and vascular endothelial cell injury diffusely, inflammatory cell infiltration and pulmonary edema.Active the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway is connected with the pathophysiological process of lung injury in the initial stages of hyperoxia-exposure.

Objective To evaluate the conventional ultrasound (US) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in diagnosis of splenic trauma including its grading diagnosis. Methods US and CEUS in 42 patients with splenic trauma confirmed by CT and/or operation were performed during 9.2004-10.2007. All the data were compared and analyzed retrospectively. Results Of 42 patients with splenic trauma, 28 cases were detected and 14 cases were missed on US examination, whereas, 40 cases were detected and only 2 mild cases were missed on CEUS examination. The detection rate of lesions with CEUS was significantly higher than that of US (P<0.001) . Ten cases in grading the injury were underestimated by US, however, none of them were underestimated by CEUS. CEUS had good concordance with CT and/or operation in grading diagnosis of 42 cases except two mild cases. Conclusions CEUS has very good concordance with CT and/or operation in detecting injury and grading the splenic trauma compared with conventional US. CEUS as a new imaging technology has made great advance of ultrasoongraphy in evaluation of splenic trauma including injury grading, and it is very useful in clinical application.
