BACKGROUND: Since there are only cell axons of neurons in peripheral cells, the study on neural stem cells (NSCs) is almost focused on neuronal cells, for which, the study on repair of peripheral nerve may be based on some experiences in NSCs.OBJECTIVE: To observe the repair of peripheral nerve after graft of autologus bone marrow derived NSCs in the injured area. To observe whether the grafted NSCs were survived and migrated in spinal cord as differentiated neurons in the injured area of peripheral nerve or not.DESIGN: Observed controlled experiment was designed.SETTING: Institute of Neurological Medicine of Zhujiang Hospital affiliated to Southern Medical UniversityMATERIALS: Eight New Zealand big white rabbits were employed, of clean grade, mass weighted varied from 1.5 to 2.5 kg and of either sex.METHODS: The experiment was performed in Institute of Neurological Medicine of Zhujiang Hospital affiliated to Southern Medical University collected from New Zealand big white rabbits for culture and differentiation was prepared. Sciatic neural injured area of one side was randomized as graft side. Physiological saline, collagen matrix and cellular embedding solution were infused up to 0.01 mL (containing stem cells 1×1010L-1). Another side was taken as the control, in which, collagen matrix suspension 0.01 mL was infused. Peffusion and fixation were followed 3 months after graft and auto-graft was performed in the injured peripheral nerve. The materials were collected for observation from graft area, spinal cord area, injured area on the opposite side and normal neural area.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Morphology of nerve fibers and neuronal cells in NSC graft area, spinal cord area and non-graft area on opposite injury side.RESULTS: The density and continuity of nerve fibers grown in graft area were higher remarkably than non-graft area on opposite side and more Schwann cells were seen under optic microscope. With amplified ×400 visual field, Ranvier's node of spinal nerve fiber was visible. In addition, mucous matrix and few fibroblasts were seen also in the space of nerve fibers. The survived neuronal cells were no visible in graft area, spinal cord area and non-graft area of sciatic injury on the opposite side.CONCLUSION: Graft of autologus bone-marrow derived neural stem cells in defect area of peripheral area benefits repair of nerve fibers. But the neural stem cells cannot survive as neurons in graft area of peripheral nerve, spinal cord area and the defect control on the opposite side.

Objective The present study was to explore association of PvuⅡand XbaⅠpolymorphism in ER-?gene with genetic susceptibility for breast cancer without BRCAl/2 gene mutation. Methods 113 BRCA1/2 negative hereditary breast cancer patients from independent families and 113 agematched healthy control subjects were analyzed. Genotype analysis was conducted by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and then DNA direct sequencing. The odd-ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) was calculated by unconditional logistic regression model. Results The frequency of PvuⅡpolymorphism CC(PP) ,CT(Pp) ,TT(pp) genotype in patients was found in 16 cases(14.2% ), 58 cases(51. 3% ) , and 39 cases (34. 5% ). The distribution of AA (xx) , AG (Xx) , GG (XX) genotype of XbaⅠpolymorphism were found in 76 cases ( 67. 2% ) , 34 cases ( 30. 1% ), and 3 cases ( 2. 7% ) among patients. Among premenopausal women, CT genotype of PvuⅡconfered a significantly increased risk for breast cancer compared with CC genotype ( adjusted OR = 2. 07; 95% CI, 0. 68 - 6. 30) ; Carriers of GG of XbaⅠhad a decreased risk for breast cancer (adjusted OR =0. 11; 95 % CI, 0. 01 - 1. 27) compared with AA genotype. Furthermore, combined analysis of two polymorphisms indicated individuals carrying PvuⅡCT and XbaⅠAA genotype were at increased risk for breast cancer as compared with those with PvuⅡCC and XbaⅠGG genotype (Oft = 11.43, 95% CI, 1.12-116.7) among premenopausal women. Conclusions PvuⅡand XbaⅠpolymorphisms in ER-?gene could be a candidate locus for low penetrance breast cancer susceptibility in Chinese population, especially among premenopausal women.

Background and purpose:Along with the development of diagnosis and treatment technology, the disease free survival and overall survival of breast cancer have been extended. In order to improve the quality of life after mastectomy, more and more breast reconstructions were applied in breast cancer patients. We retrospectively reviewed 118 cases of free abdominal lfaps for breast reconstruction performed in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center. Clinical outcomes, reconstructive techniques and experiences are discussed. Methods:From November, 2006 to June, 2013, we used free abdominal lfaps to perform 118 cases of breast reconstruction on 117 female patients after mastectomy. We observed the surgery, complications and safety of this technic. Results:We performed 118 cases of lfaps based on deep inferior epigastric vessels. The average operation time was 7.72 h. The average time of ischemia was 78.74min. The average anastomosis time was 60.83min. The average number of perforators included in the lfap was 3. The internal thoracic vessels were preferred recipient vessels. Ten cases of vessel crisis occurred and 6 of them were venous thrombosis and 4 cases were venous kink. Seven of them were salvaged, and the other 3 failed, the success rate was 97.46%. Postoperative infection rate was 7.00%. Abdominal bulge occurred in 3.50%of patients. None of the patients developed abdominal hernia. The median interval between surgery and the ifrst cycle of adjuvant chemotherapy was 19 days. The median follow-up time was 12 months. One case of distant metastasis, but no local recurrence was observed. Conclusion: Although free abdominal flap breast reconstruction requires complicated microsurgical techniques, and the learning curve does exist, free abdominal lfap breast reconstruction has a high success rate with oncological safety and few complications.

Objective:To explore the mediating role of self-control in the relationship between alexithymia and internet addiction. Methods:From August to September 2019, a total of 433 college students were selected from three universities in Jiangxi province by cluster random sampling method. The Chinese internet addiction scale-revised, the twenty-item Toronto alexithymia scale and brief self-control scale were used for questionnaire testing. SPSS 23.0 software was used for descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis and PROCESS V3.5 macro program was used to test the mediating effect. Results:The total scores of alexithymia, internet addiction and self-control were (53.61±9.44), (45.31±9.84) and (41.91±6.09), respectively. Pearson correlation analysis showed that alexithymia was significantly positively correlated with internet addiction ( r=0.47, P<0.01), and significantly negatively correlated with self-control ( r=-0.37, P<0.01). The negative correlation between self-control and internet addiction was significant ( r=-0.46, P<0.01). Multivariate hierarchical regression analysis showed that alexithymia directly predicted internet addiction after controlling the influence of gender. Self-control played a partially mediating role in the relationship between alexithymia and internet addiction (effect size=0.13, 95% CI: 0.082-0.185), the mediating effect accounted for 25% of the total effect. Conclusion:Alexithymia not only directly affects college students′ internet addiction, but also indirectly affects college students′ internet addiction through self-control.
