PURPOSE: We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of mirabegron add-on therapy to solifenacin for patients with overactive bladder (OAB). METHODS: We conducted a systematic literature review to identify all randomized, double-blind, controlled trials (RCTs) of this combination (mirabegron and solifenacin) for OAB. Embase, MEDLINE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched. A manual search was also performed to investigate relevant references from the retrieved studies. RESULTS: Four publications describing 5 RCTs that compared combination therapy with solifenacin, including a total of 3,309 patients, were analyzed. The mean number of micturitions per 24 hours (mean difference [MD], -0.45; 95% confidence interval [CI], -0.65 to -0.26; P < 0.00001), number of episodes of incontinence per 24 hours (MD, -0.71; 95% CI, -0.14 to -0.02; P=0.04), volume voided per micturition, and number of urgency episodes per 24 hours demonstrated that combination therapy was more effective than solifenacin therapy alone. Safety assessments, including common treatment-emergent adverse events (odds ratio, 1.09; 95% CI, 0.95–1.27; P=0.23) and discontinuations due to adverse events (P=0.30), demonstrated that the combination therapy was well tolerated. CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis suggests that mirabegron therapy as an add-on to solifenacin provides a satisfactory therapeutic effect for OAB symptoms with a low occurrence of side effects.

Colistin is a kind of old cationic drug, which can interfere bacterial cell membrane, thus to cause bacterial death. It is mainly used for the treatment of infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria, and its antimicrobial activity against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria is also very significant. At present, colistin is widely used in veterinary medicine. This article aims to review colistin in chemical, pharmacological, and pharmacokinetic studies, and also summarizes the application and resistance of this drug, which will provide reference for the reasonable selection and use of this drug in animals.

Anticholinergic drugs play an important role as bronchodilators in the treatment of obstructive airway diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma.Anticholinergic drugs are divided into short-acting muscarinic antagonists(SAMA)and long-acting muscarinic antagonists(LAMA). Ipratropium bromide is a commonly used SAMA in pediatrics and is administered by inhalation. The combination of ipratropium bromide and β 2 receptor agonist can control the acute attack of asthma patients of different ages and degrees.Tiotropium bromide is not only LAMA, but also a long-acting bronchodilator, which selectively and competitively binds to M1, M2, and M3 receptors.Tiotropium bromide can reduce Th2 cytokines and airway inflammation, reduce airway hyperresponsiveness, and inhibit airway remodeling. This article reviews the recent progress of anticholinergic drugs in the treatment of childhood asthma.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae is one of the most common pathogens in children with community-acquired pneumonia. Some cases of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia may develop into refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(RMPP). Glucocorticoid therapy can delay the disease and shorten the hospital stay, which is an effective method for the treatment of children with RMPP.This paper reviews the progress of glucocorticoids in the treatment of RMPP in children.

Purpose:
Transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation (TENS), as a non-invasive modality, has been clinically used as an alternative treatment for children with overactive bladder (OAB). We conducted a pooled analysis to explore the effect of TENS on OAB.
Methods:
The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis guideline was followed in this study. The MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases, as well as the reference lists of the retrieved studies, were used to find trials relevant for assessing the use of TENS to treat OAB.
Results:
Of the 246 records identified, 8 publications were analyzed in our study. Our analysis found that TENS resulted in a greater decrease of wet days/wk, daily voiding frequency, daily incontinence episodes, and daily number of voids than was observed in the control group. Furthermore, TENS-treated patients showed similar visual analogue scale (VAS) scores to patients in the control group, demonstrating that the application of TENS did not increase patients’ discomfort and pain. TENS had a relative advantage in the number of partial responses, but no clear differences were found in frequency of no response or a full response compared to the control group. In urodynamic testing, TENS led to obvious improvements in average voided volume and maximum voided volume in children with OAB.
Conclusions
TENS had a remarkable effect on the improvement of urodynamic indexes and objective OAB symptoms without a significant increase in VAS scores for children with OAB.

Objective:
To investigate the effect of the lower extremitas abduction brace pads which is designed by our team in helping patient turnover after orthopedic femoral neck fracture, intertrochanteric fracture, femoral head replacement.
Methods:
Using prospective cohort study to facilitate sampling From October 2016 to August 2017, in an upper third-class hospital of Jiangsu province, we selected 100 patients in Orthopedics dept. No.1 at random as the experimental group and 80 patients in dept. No.2 as the control group. Lower extremitas abduction brace pads were used in experimental group and pillows, backrests and clothes were used in control group. Comfort level, incidence of skin pressure injury, joint dislocation rate and the compliance of the two groups were compared.
Results:
The number of patients in experimental group who rated the comfort up to 3 (feel a little pain and uncomfortable) was much higher than that in control group (

Objective To explore the effect of high-intensity ultrasound focused ablation in the treatment of ⅡB cesarean scar Pregnancy. Methods A total of 365 patients in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2021 which were ⅡB Cesarean Scar Pregnancy were selected as the research objects. The research objects were divided into the experimental group pretreated by high-intensity ultrasound ablation(186 cases)and the control group without treatment(179 cases)to compare the levels of intraoperative blood loss, postoperative vaginal bleeding time, human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG)decline rate after the operation, success rate of operation and other indicators. Results The amount of intraoperative blood loss and postoperative vaginal bleeding time in the experimental group were less than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the decrease rate of blood HCG in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was significant difference in the success rate of operation between the experimental group and the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in menstrual volume between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05),but the control group had prolonged menstruation, and the incidence of postoperative complications between the experimental group and the control group have no statistical significance. Conclusion High-intensity focused ultrasound ablation can effectively reduce intraoperative blood loss in patients of type ⅡB cesarean scar pregnancy, reduce the application of invasive methods such as laparoscopy, can be promoted as a pretreatment method for type ⅡB cesarean scar pregnancy.
