Objective The study was to investigate a new method of rapid expansion by biomechanical methods. Methods Dogs were set up as animal models. Six areas, 5 cm?8 cm each, were symmetrically designed on a dog. Expanders of 240 ml were implanted in each area. Four groups were divided: A. Injection of 2 weeks. B. Injection of 6 weeks. C. Sham operation group. D. Blank control group. The first two groups were subdivided into three groups respectively according to maintaining times: one week, two weeks and four weeks. The following indexes were measured on the second stage surgery: biomechanical properties of the skin, stress strength, stress strain, stress relaxation and creep, the collagen content and alignment of skin. Results After expansion, maximal stress strength fell off, and stress strain curve moved backward. Relaxation curve fell off as well, as creep curve rose up. With elongation of the maintaining period, viscoelasticity of the skin gradually approximated normal skin, and had less relation with injection time. With the maintaining period increased, the collage content increased distinctly, and the alignment became much order. Conclusion Two week maintaining period is very important for expanded skin to recover the biomechanical properties and the content of collagen and alignment.

Objective To investigate the MR imaging findings of acute experimental allergic encephalomyelitis(EAE) in correlation with pathology. Methods An EAE model was induced by intradermal inoculation with guinea pig CNS homogenate in 6 female Lewis rats.Another 6 rats served as control. The clinical presentation and body weight of the animals were recorded daily. Routine MRI,Gd-enhanced MRI were performed when EAE animals showed the initial symptoms. Uhrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide(USPIO) colloid solution was also administrated intravenously and MRI was performed again after 24 hours. The brain was removed instantly after the second MR imaging. The pathological exams including HE staining, myelin sheath staining and prussian staining were performed. The imaging findings were observed in correlation with pathological results. Results The EAE rats showed decrease of body weight on the 6th to 7th day after inoculation, and the clinical symptoms appeared on the 10th to 11th day after inoculation.Routine MRI did not show any definite abnormalities. The Gd-enhanced MRI found the diffuse thickening and enhancement of brain meninges. The USPIO-enhanced MRI showedareas of low signal intensity at white matter of medulla oblongata on T2WI,and high signal intensity was observed at the corresponding area on T1 WI. Gradient T2 * WI found more foci of low signal intensity in eerebellar white matter besides the lesions in the brain stem. The range of abnormal signal intensity was larger in animal with higher clinical scores than that with lower score. There were no abnormal findings in control animaL The pathological exam found "perivascular cuff" in the brain white matter in EAE animals, some accompanied with adjacent demyelinatian. The prussian staining found blue particles within the cytoplasm of the macrophages around the lesion, which corresponded to the area of low signal intensity on T2WI.Conclusion USPIO-enhanced MRI could reveal acute EAE lesions which were not capable of being shown on routine MRI and Gd-enhanced MRI.It can image the macrophages around the lesions in vivo.USPIO is important for future research and application in MS patients.

Objective To evaluate the value of two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) in assessing left ventricular systolic function, diastolic function and synchrony with different QRS complex duration in complete left bundle branch block (CLBBB) patients with preserved left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF).Methods A total of 44 patients with CLBBB and LVEF≥50% were included. All the patients were divided into two groups based on QRS duration,QRS>150 ms as wide QRS group and 120 ms≤QRS≤150 ms as narrow QRS group. And 30 healthy people were included as control group.Two-dimensional echocardiography and 2D-STE were performed.Ieft ventricle longitudinal peak stain of global, septum and free wall (LS-G,LS-Sept,LS-Lat),standard deviation of time to peak systolic strain for the 18 left ventricular segments (SDt) and index of left yen tricular diastolic function (EDT,E/A and E/e') were measured. Results SDt values of wide QRS group and narrow QRS group were significantly higher than that of control group (both P<0.01).And SDt of wide QRS group was significantly higher than that of narrow QRS group (P<0.05).LVEF and LS-G in wide QRS group were significantly lower than those in both narrow QRS group and control group (all P< 0.05),while there was no significant difference between narrow QRS group and control group (all P>0.05).The LS-Sept in wide QRS group and narrow QRS group were both lower than that of control group (both P <0.01).And LS-Sept in wide QRS group was lower than that of narrow QRS group (P<0.01).LS-Lat in narrow QRS group was separately higher than those of both wide QRS group and control group (both P<0.05),while there was no significant difference of LS-Lat between wide QRS group and control group (P>0.05).Compared with control group,E/A and EDT decreased and of E/e' increased in both wide QRS group and narrow QRS group (all P<0.05).While there was no significant difference between wide QRS group and narrow QRS group (all P>0.05).Conclusion In patients of wide QRS CLBBB with preserved LVEF,left ventricular systolic, diastolic function and synchrony decrease, while left ventricular systolic function of patients with narrow QRS do not significantly decrease.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of EGF and TNF in the fetal wound healing process.
METHODSOn a fetal wound healing model with the maternal rabbit on 22-23 days of pregnancy (term = 31-32 days), the contents of EGF and TNF were analyzed with a RIA kit, compared to the maternal rabbit group and the adult rabbit group.
RESULTSThe EGF and TNF contents in the fetal wound were both increasing 3 days after the operation and maintained in a high level until the 7th day of the wound healing process(P < 0.05). However, the EGF and TNF contents in the maternal and adult rabbit groups were only kept at a high level during the 3 days after the surgery.
CONCLUSIONThe results are indicated that the EGF and TNF may play an important role in fetal wound healing.

Objective To discuss microvessel density (MVD) and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), androgen receptor(AR) in the prostates of men who received re-operation after TURP. Methods Fifty cases were performed re-TURP (re-TURP group) and the remaining 50 cases served as controls. 150 specimens were collected. Sections were stained for CD34 and VEGF, AR by immuno-histo-chemistry(S-P). Statistical analysis of the results was performed using t-test or Pearson Chi-Square test Results The expression of VEGF, AR and MVD were significantly higher in the re-TURP group compared to controls(P<0. 05),but in re-TURP group, difference in VEGF and AR expression as well as MVD were not found to be significantly different between the first and the second TURP(P>0.05). Conclusion Over expression of VEGF and AR as well as high MVD in prostatic tissue might play an important role in the pathological process of BPH after TURP.

OBJECTIVEThe aim of the work was to study the change for blood pour into the artery fascial flap and oxygen metabolic in tissue that knew the process of the flap.
METHODSWe do the artery fascial flap in the rabbit, then measured the skin capillary blood flow and the content of the MDA.
RESULTSThe content of the MDA rise when the blood flow descends in the flap, but it lives well.
CONCLUSIONSThat the content of the MDA rise as time the blood flow descend in the flap is a gradual process of the whole flap from tip to end, the flap will not appear necrosis until the MDA reach a rather degree.
