This paper selects the bag-type infusion sets for single use as samples, which are produced by different manufacturers and based on the ethylene oxide sterilization. The ethylene oxide sterilization residues in different parts of samples are detected by colorimetric analysis. Combined the comparison of the ethylene oxide residues testing results in the different parts of the same sample with the actual situation in clinical use, more reasonable sampling positions are found to detect the ethylene oxide sterilization residues. The result of this experiment will play a guiding role in the detection of the actual samples.

Objective To investigate changes in the intraocular pressure(IOP) and anterior chamber angle in patients with chronic renal failure before and after hemodialysis. Methods Fifty?eight patients(116 eyes) with chronic renal failure were measured with Goldmann applanation tonometer and anterior segment optical coherence tomograph. The patients were divided into three groups based on gonioscopy results:the narrow angle group(22 eyes),the Iris neovascular group(3 eyes)and the open angle group(91 eyes). IOP was measured by Goldmann applanation tonometer in patients in the three groups before and after hemodialysis. Anterior chamber angle opening distance (AOD) was detected by anterior segment optical coherence tomograph before and after hemodialysis. The blood urea nitrogen,creatinine,albumin were also determined before and after hemodialysis. All changes in the parameters were analyzed with a paired t test. Results The IOP in narrow angle eyes and in neovascular eyes increased significantly after hemodialysis ,while the IOP in open angle eyes showed no significant changes. The AOD decreased significantly after hemodialysis. The blood urea nitrogen and creatinine decreased significantly in 58 patients,while albumin increased after hemodialysis. Conclusion The IOP in narrow angle eyes and in neovascular eyes increased after hemodialysis ,correlating with the resistance increase of aqueous outflow pathway and the change of plasma osmotic pressure. As a result ,it is recommended that the condition of eye of patients with chronic renal failure should be checked ,and patients should receive appropriate controlling measure or treatment before hemodialysis.

AIM: To examine the inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity by doxycycline (Doxy) and its effect on vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs) proliferation, neointimal hyperplasia and vascular remodeling. METHODS: The model of rat common carotid artery injury was established by balloon-dilatation. Doxy was administered to the animals of treatment group at dose of 30 mg?kg -1?d -1. The activity of MMPs in the tissue of injured carotid arteries was measured by gelatin zymography. Background Fibrin glue has been utilized to adhere the graft during the pterygium excision with conjunctival autografts.Several relevant clinical randomized controlled trial(RCT) and retrospective studies have been published abroad,but the samples for its effectiveness and safety issue of fibrin glue and suture are still underinvestigation.Objective Current study was to quantificationally assess the efficacy and safety of fibrin glue versus sutures in the application of pterygium excision with conjunctival autografts.Methods Based on established search strategy,a computerized literature search was conducted to identify all citations concerning the RCT for effectiveness and safety evaluation of fibrin glue and suture for the graft fixation during the pterygium excision with conjunctival autografts from MEDLINE ( from 2000 to October,2010 ),EMbase ( from 2000 to October,2010 ),Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials ( Issue 4,2010 ),CBMdisc ( 2000 to October 2010 ),CNKI ( 2000 to October 2010 ),and the relevant conference proceedings and references searched by hand was performed as supplement.The included literature was scored with Jadad table.The Cochrane Collaboration' s RevMan 5.0 software was used for the test of heterogeneity or test for overall effect.The effective indexes,such as operative duration,recurrence rate and complication,were evaluated by Meta analysis.Results Six RCTs involving 401 eyes of 377 participants were identified.These literatures were published with English in 2004-2010 from China,New Zealand,Sweden,Israel,Turkey and Malasia and the Jadad scores were 4-5.The quantitatively analysis revealed that fibrin glue appeared to short the operative time compared with suturing method (MD =14.23 ;95％ CI:- 16.18- 12.29;P=0.00) and drop the rate of recurrence ( RR =0.49,95％ CI:0.26 -0.95 ; P =0.03 ).No significant differences were found in the rate of postoperative graft dehiscence or absence (RR =3.41,95 ％ CI:0.85-13.68;P =0.08 ).Conclusions Fibrin glue shows the good effectiveness and easy application during the pterygium excision with conjunctival autografts.Long-term follow-up of multi-central RCTs with a larger number of cases are still needed to support this conclusion.

Objective To forward the concept of solution space of pharmacokinetics for studying radiophannaceutical distributions in animal models. Methods On the basis of special solutions of differential equations of pharmacokinetics, the solution space was established using the characteristics of linearly independent particular solutions and used to express the pharmacokinetics of pharmaceuticals in vivo. 0. 2 ml (7.4 MBq) 2β-carbomethoxy-3β- (4-corophenyl)-8-(2-18F-fluoroethyl) nortropane (18F-FECNT) was injected through tail vein into normal mice. The mice were sacrificed by decapitation at 5, 15, 30, 60, 120 and 180 min post-injection. Brain tissues were removed and weighed, and radioactivity was counted with the γ-counter. The solution space theory was used to study pharmacokinetics of 18F-FECNT in brain tissues of mice. Results The result showed that all solutions of pharmacokinetics models, based on differential equations, were included in the solution space. The solution of any organ or tissue could be linearly expressed by bases of the solution space. When the dimension number of the solution space was no more than 3, the solution could be directly expressed with coordinate picture. By this rule in our theory, the quantity of 18F-FECNT in brain tissues of mice changed with time, which was accorded with the experiment. The coordinates of striatum, frontal cortex, temporal cortex, occipital cortex, parietal cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum in the solution space were ( 10.13, 1.49), (4.27, 0. 84), (4.48, 0.81 ), (2.89, 0.98), (3.65, 0. 83),(3.55, 0. 98) and (2.03, 1.25 ), respectively. Conclusion The theory of solution space could be used to study pharmacokinetics of 18 F-FECNT in mice brain.

Objective To investigate the effect of nerve growth factor on the levels of serum S100 protein and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in patients with acute brain injury.Methods 70 cases with acute craniocerebral injury from March 2013 to May 2015 in department of cerebral surgery of Tianjin port hospital were selected and divided into two groups according to random number method.The control group (35 cases) received conventional symptomatic treatment, the study group (35 cases) received conventional treatment on the basis of mouse nerve growth factor for injection, with a consecutive treatment of two weeks.On admission, one and two weeks after admission, the Glasgow coma scale ( GCS) score was recorded, serum S100 beta protein and IL-6 levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA ) and the clinical curative effect of cerebral edema eliminate was compared.Results After two weeks’ treatment, the total efficacy in control group was lower than that in study group (77.14% vs.94.29%) ( P<0.05).The GCS score of two weeks after admission in study group was lower than that in control group, serum levels of neuron-specific enolase (NSE), myelin basic protein ( MBP) , S100βprotein and IL-6 of one and two weeks after admission in study group were lower than those in control group ( P<0.05).Conclusion The nerve growth factor could decrease the levels of serum S100βand IL-6 and alleviate inflammation in patients with acute craniocerebral injury and the effect is obvious.

Objective To explore the relationship between diet intake and diabetes mellitus(DM) and impaired fasting glucose (IFG) in adult residents in Guangxi,so as to provide scientific basis for dietary prevention.Methods 2 281 people(1 020 from urban areas and 1 261 from rural areas) aged 18 years and above were selected from 4 cities and 4 countrysides in Guangxi through a multistage stratified random sampling.The investigation included the meal investigation,medical examination and blood assay. Objective To investigate the causes of acute renal failure(ARF)after orthtopic liver transplantation(OLT)in patients of acute liver failure(ALF)and the effects of systemic therapy based on continuous renal replacement(CRRT).Methods Clinical data of 412 patients who underwent liver transplantations between January 2001 and June 2006 were analyzed retrospectively (all the cases were followed up to June 2007).According to UNOS grading scale,54 patients were of acute liver failure(UNOS 1 and 2A).Posttransplant ARF developing in 17 cases underwent a systemic therapy based on CRRT as well as anti-rejection,anti-infection and nutrition support.The perioperative courses,complications,causes of death and follow up results were analyzed.Results There were no severe complications during CRRT.Perioperative mortality was 5.4%and 58.8%in patients without ARF and those with ARF respectively.the rate of complications was 35.1%vs 100%.1 year survival rate Was 89.2% vs 41.2%.3 year survival rate was 81.1% vs 41.2%.Condusions The effect of surgery mainly depends on the function of liver and other vital organs.The ALF recipients suffered from a high perioperative mortality,especially those with posttransplant ARL.The systemic therapy based on CRRT benefits patients with postoperative ARF.

ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the degenerative mechanisms of lumbar intervertebral disc (LID) and apoptosis.MethodsThe total RNAs were isolated from human LID tissues. Both the mRNAs from the degeneration and normal LID were reversely transcribed to the cDNAs. The cDNAs were labeled with the incorporations of fluorescent dUTP, for preparing the hybridization probes. The mixed probes were then hybridized to the cDNA microarray. After high-stringent washing, the cDNA microarray was scanned for the fluorescent signals and analyzed by computer image analysis. The apoptotic status and the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in 12 cases of degenerative LID and 10 cases of normal LID were detected with TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) and immunohistochemistry methods.ResultsAmong the 4096 targets, there were 10 genes related to apoptosis. The expression related to Bax protein gene was up-regulated and it was down-regulated for Bcl-2 protein. In group of normal LID, the average apoptotic index (AI) was (24.897±3.620); percentage of Bcl-2 positive cells was (31.440±4.150)%; percentage of Bax positive cells was (29.372±2.588)%, average optical density (OD) values of positive particles were (0.183± 0.010 ), ( 0.203 ±0.012) and (0.169±0.005) respectively. In group of degenerative LID, the average AI was (49.232±3.440); percentage of Bcl-2 positive cells was (18.239±2.470)%; percentage of Bax positive cells was (52.349±3.764)%; average OD values of positive particles were (0.152±0.003), (0.310±0.008) and (0.262±0.014) respectively. There were significantly differences in AI and expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins between normal LID and degenerative LID (P<0.05).ConclusionCell apoptosis plays an important role in the process of LID degeneration. Both Bcl-2 and Bax take part in the occurrence and progression of LID.
