1.3.0 T conventional MRI and MR arthrography in the evaluation of acetabular labral tears
Chinese Journal of Radiology 2010;44(11):1135-1139
Objective To compare the diagnostic value of conventional MR imaging with MR arthrography for acetabular labral tears at 3.0 T MR imaging Methods Forty-four patients suspected of acetabular labral pathology were prospectively scanned with conventional MR imaging and MR arthrography of the affected hip joints. All MR data were retrospectively studied. Each acetabular labrum was divided into three regions of anterior, superior, and posterior, and the acetabular tear and its classification were recorded. Five patients underwent subsequent hip arthroscopy. Wilcoxon signed ranks test was used to compare the difference between MR imaging and MR arthrography, and Kappa value was adopted for the evaluation of agreement of these two techniques. Results One hundred and sixteen regions of acetabular labrum were evaluated to be concordant at MR imaging and MR arthrography. Only 16 regions had different results at MR imaging and MR arthrography, in which 9 were diagnosed to have tears at MR arthrography but non-tear at MR imaging, and 6 had tears at MR imaging but non-tear at MR arthrography, and the other one had tears at both exams but of different classifications. In 5 patients confirmed by hip arthroscopy, both the evaluations of MR imaging and MR arthrography were accordant with that of arthroscopy. There were no statistical difference between MR imaging and MR arthrography ( Z = 0. 347, P > 0. 05 ) for diagnosing the acetabular labral tears, and good agreements (Kappa = 0. 781 ,P < 0. 01 ) were found between these two methods. Conclusion Conventional MR imaging of hip joints at 3.0 T shows similar diagnostic value with MR arthrography in evaluating the acetabular labral tears.
2.Influence of amalgam on the growth of Streptococcus mutans:An in vovo study
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(06):-
Objective:To study the antibacterial activity of dental amalgam against S.mutans in vivo. Methods:Plaque samples were collected from amalgam surface 1 d,1,2,4 and 8 weeks after tooth restoration with amalgam( group of fresh amalgam) in 16 subjects and from anothor 14 subjects with amalgam tooth restoration for more than 3 years (group of aged amalgam).Plaque samples were collected only once.Isolation frequency (IF) and colony forming unite(CFU) of S.mutans were tested. The plague samples from oposite tooth were used as the controls. Results:In the group of fresh amalgam IF and CFU of S.mutans were heigher on amalgam than on the control teeth(P0.05).Conclusion:Amalgams may have inhibitory effects on the growth of S.mutans.

The present study shows that mushroom juice exhibits a significanteffect on growth of L. acidophilus in reconstituted skim milk. When 5% - 10% mushroom juice was added in skim milk, they shorten generation time and the rate of lactic acid production was accelerated. After 10h incubation at 37℃ cell counts of L. acidophilus in test groups were much more than in control group, were up to 108/mL.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(10):-
Recombinant antibodies have become the major growth trends in biotech industry following their success on therapeutic application and good revenue. But the low level of mammalian expression and laggard fermentation process constrained the development of antibody industry in China. The global advances of antibody industry were reviewed, compared the respective advantage between dihydrofolate reductase and glutamine synthetase expression system, continuous perfusion and fed-batch processes were compared. Finally, based on the knowledge and experience of antibody expression and fermentation, the suitable strategy of antibody industrialization, e.g. the fermentation model and scale, should depend on the comprehensive consideration of entrepreneur for the productivity, manufacturing capacity and market revenue. It may be a wise choice to use glutamine synthetase expression system and continuous perfusion process for the need of Chinese antibody industrialization.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
To improve and optimize marine antimicrobial peptide R-1 production by a newly isolated Brevibacillus laterosporus Lh-1, Plackett-Burman (PB) design and response surface methodology (RSM) using central composite design was adopted in culture conditions. MINITAB 15.0 was used for planning the experiments, data analysis, contour diagrams and response optimizations. In this study, PB design was undertaken to evaluate the effects of the fifteen factors. By the statistical regression analysis, the significant factors affecting the novel antimicrobial peptide R-1 in submerged fermentation by Br. laterosporus Lh-1 were determined as follows: glucose, peptone and CaCl2. Then a RSM was used to optimize the above critical internal factors, and the optical concentration of the variables were deter-mined as: 15.72 g/L glucose, 6.01 g/L peptone and 3.29 g/L CaCl2. The content of R-1 was increased from 82.15 kU/mL to 116.27 kU/mL.

Objective To study the X chromosome aberration in hepatocellular carcinoma cell line HCC-9903. Method The hepatocellular carc inoma cell line, HCC-9903, was detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization ( FISH) centromere DNA probes of X chromosome. Result Increased X chromosome copy number was observed in HC C-9903 cell line , four signals of hybridization was the major type. Conclusion Gain of X chromosome freq uently occurred in liver carcinoma. The relationship between gain of X chromosom e and liver carcinoma genesis needs further investigation.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2002;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the early effect of extracorporeal shockwave(ESW) treatment on distraction osteogenesis of rabbit tibias and its mechanism. Methods 30 adult New Zealand white rabbits were used. After osteotomy of left tibias, improved Orthofix M- 100 bone fixator was applied. After 5 days, bone lengthening of 1 cm was obtained over 10 days. Randomly the animals were divided into ESW and control groups. No ESW treatment was given to the control group. The shock wave was set at 0.54 mJ/mm2 and 1000 shots each time were applied to the central areas in the ESW group. Then the animals were divided into 3 sub- groups, and were killed respectively at 45, 60 and 75 days after osteotomy. During the process, X- ray, bone mineral density (BMD) and histological examinations were conducted for every animal. Results By X- ray and BMD measurements, we found significantly more bone mass increased in the ESW group than in the control group at 45, 60 days after operation (P
