Objective To analyze 85 cases of small bowel stromal tumor with follow-up results,and compare the clinical factors on the prognosis of disease. Methods Getting started from clinical records,a specific database was designed and clinical data concerning patient demographics,clinical findings,lab results,radiology reports,endoscopy reports,perioperative parameters,pathology reports and follow-up notes were input into the database. The influences of clinical factors on prognosis were compared by inquiring about the database. Objective To investigate the changes of SARS-IgG in serum,X-ray of lung and lung function in severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)patients.Methods During the period of 2003-06~2004-04,the SARS-IgG in serum,X-ray of lung and lung function tests were checked up in 103 SARS patients by Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Disease in regularly every 3 months after their discharge from hospital and the SARS-IgG level in serum was compared with another 20 healthy medical workers.Results 1.On the third day after the onset of SARS disease,the optical density(OD)value of SARS-IgG in serum was(0.063?0.012)which was significantly higher than the normal control group. Moreover,from then on,it increased step by step and went up greatly in the third week(0.180?0.202)and attained the highest level(1.730?0.331)in the fourth month. Then it decreased step by step and in the 17th month,it dropped to(0.668?0.109).2.The chest X-ray of 32.3%of 62 cases became normal in the first 3 months after onset of SARS and that of 56.5% did in the 17th month.However,if 22 cases were taken into account,who did not have a re-check,80% of the cases became normal and the left 5 cases were severe patients. 3.The lung function of 16 of 25 cases became normal in 6 months after onset and among the other 9 cases,the lung function of 4 cases had an improvement in the following 3 to 6 months.Conclusion The OD value of SARS-IgG in serum in the third day can be used as a screening test of SARS. Its remarkable increase in the third week will support the diagnosis.The chest X-ray and lung function of SARS patients will improve gradually and become normal in the final.

Objective To explore the therapeutic effects of radical mastectomy(RM) and extended radical mastectomy(ERM) for stage II, III breast cancer. Methods The 5 year and 10 year survival rates in 691 patients with stage II, III breast cancer treated either by extended radical mastectomy or radical mastectomy were retrospectively analyzed . Out of the 691 patients, 206 stage II cases and 193 stage III cases underwent RM, and 142 stage II and 150 stage III cases received ERM. Objective To analyze the levels and speciation of arsenic metabolites in urine of rats treated with sodium arsenite and sodium arsenate in order to investigate the different aspects of metabolism between sodium arsenite and sodium arsenate,thus to understand further the basic data about relationship between it's metabolism and mechanism of toxicity. Methods Seventy Wistar rats,weighting 80-120 g,were divided into 7 groups of 10 each,such as normal control group,high,middle and low sodium arsenite group and high,middle and low sodium arsenate group. After the animals were fed for one month,the urine was collected by metabolic cage in 12 hours. Applying the high efficiency liquid chromatography and hydride genesis atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (HPLC-HGAFS),the levels and speciation of arsenic metabolites were determined in urine of rats. Meanwhile,the recovery rate of dimethyl arsinic acid(DMA) would be determined to estimate the degree of accuracy of results. Results The levels of iAs~(3+),iAs~(5+) and DMA in middle sodium arsenite group[(121.66±1.26),(10.26±2.68),(200.91±0.56) μg/L]were higher than the high sodium arsenite group[(113.20±0.75),(5.16±1.32),(147.70±μ0.77)μg/L,all P < 0.05]and low sodium arsenite group[(79.35±2.12),(5.13±2.25),(56.35±1.23)μg/L,all P < 0.05]. The levels of iAs~(3+) and DMA in middle sodium arsenate group[(315.81±1.69),(245.12±1.18)μg/L]were higher than the high sodium arsenate group[(85.03±0.56),(110.34±1.04)μg/L,all P< 0.05]and low sodium arsenate group[(22.97±2.67),(15.75±2.15)μg/L,all P < 0.05]. Compared with sodium arsenate group,the levels of iAs~(3+) and DMA in high and low sodium arsenite group were higher(all P < 0.05) ; and the levels of iAs~(3+) and DMA in middle sodium arsenite group were lower(all P < 0.05). Meanwhile,the average urinary recovery rate of DMA of rats in different sodium arsenite group were 94.80%-102.70%,and the average urinary recovery rate of DMA of rats in different sodium arsenate group were 95.33%-108.40%. Conclusion The speciation and levels of arsenic are influenced by the external exposure dose,and some distinction appeared in the metabolism and metabolic path between sodium arsenite and sodium arsenate in urine in vivo.

To address this problem,researchers introduce Granger causality analysis method to brain functional study,which deals with the estimation of causal influences among multi-variables.First,basic principles of Granger Causality and its improved algorithm structural vector autoregression (SVAR) are introduced.Then several technical problems are reviewed which should be noted when analyzing brain functional signals by Granger Causality Methods.In the end,the application foreground of Granger Causality in epilepsy localization is introduced by taking idiopathic generalized epilepsy as the example.

Objective To analyze the clinical features and factors associated with knee osteonecrosis in patients with systemic lnpus erythematosus (SLE).Methods Medical charts of Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 2000 to 2013 were reviewed to identify patients who were diagnosed as SLE with kuee osteonecrosis.Controls were selected and matched to the cases by age and sex.The clinical and laboratory variables were compared between SLE patients who were with and without knee osteonecrosis.Numerical data and categorical data comparisons were analyzed using t-test,x2-test,respectively.Results Sixteen patients developed knee osteonecrosis that constituted 0.37％ of all the 4 301 hospitalized SLE patients during the same period.Fifteen patients were female,who developed knee osteonecrosis with an average age of 36 years (range:17-67 years).The mean duratiou of SLE before the diagnosis of knee osteonecrosis was 64±40 months (range:16-120 months).The interval from onset of symptoms to diagnosis was 0.5 to 24 months.The distal end of femur was involved in all 16 patients,while the proximal tibia necrosis also occurred in 8 patients.The detection rate of knee osteonecrosis by MRI was 100％,while it was only 19％ by plain radiography.The incidence of skin vasculitis,myositis,osteoporosis,hyperlipidemia,hypoalbuminemia and elevated serum immunoglobin G levels were significantly higher in SLE patients with knee osteonecrosis than in controls (P＜0.05).In addition,the use of anti-malarials was significantly lower in SLE patients with knee osteonecrosis than in controls (P＜0.05).Conclusion The knee osteonecrosis in SLE patients is affected by multifactors.The risk factors include skin vasculitis,myositis osteoporosis,hyperlipidemia,hypoalbuminemia and the elevated immunoglobin G level.The use of antimalarial drugs in SLE patients may protect against knee osteonecrosis development.Knee osteonecrosis coull be diagnosed early by MRI.
