1.Study of the correlation between abnormal lipid metabolism and the severity of coronary artery lesions
Chinese Journal of Interventional Cardiology 1993;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the correlation between abnormal lipid metabolism and coronary artery lesions. Methods Two hundred and sixty seven patients were devided into the control group ( n =101) and the coronary heart disease (CHD) group ( n =166), which included single vessel lesion ( n =54), double vessel lesions ( n =68) and triple vessel lesions ( n =44) according to coronary angiography. At the same time the lipid components were examined and the ralationship between serum lipid level and coronary artery lesions were analysed. Results Compared with the control, the total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglyceride (TG) level were significantly elevated while but high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was lowered in the CHD group. The severity of coronary lesions was increased with the elevation of TC, LDL-C, apolipoproteinB (ApoB), TC/HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, and the reduction of HDL-C. There were significant differences in terms of lipid level beteewn the CHD group and the control. The analysis showed that TC/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C were most directly correlated with the coronary artery lesions in the CHD group. Conclusion The results suggest that the severity of coronary artery lesions correlated with abnormal lipid metabolism, and LDL-C/HDL-C, TC/HDL-C are better indicators than other lipid components.

ObjectiveTo study the differential expression of signal transduction related gene between the tunica media in human abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) and normal aorta, and inspect their role in the etiology of abdominal aortic aneurysms.MethodsGene chip technique was applied to study the differential expression of signal transduction related gene in human AAA, then screening some significant differential expressed genes for further research by RT-PCR, Western Blot, and immunohistochemistry.ResultsForty-five differentially expressed genes related to cellular signal transduction were detected accounting for 1.09% of the chip′s total 4?096 genes, among them 28 genes were up-regulated and 17 down-regulated in aortic aneurysm. ASK1, ERK1 gene were found up-requlated in aortic aneurysm.ConclusionsDifferential expression of signal transduction gene could play a key role in the occurrence of AAA.

Objective To investigate the changes of SARS-IgG in serum,X-ray of lung and lung function in severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)patients. Methods During the period of 2003-06~2004-04,the SARS-IgG in serum,X-ray of lung and lung function tests were checked up in 103 SARS patients by Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Disease in regularly every 3 months after their discharge from hospital and the SARS-IgG level in serum was compared with another 20 healthy medical workers. Results 1.On the third day after the onset of SARS disease, the optical density(OD)value of SARS-IgG in serum was(0.063?0.012)which was significantly higher than the normal control group. Moreover, from then on,it increased step by step and went up greatly in the third week(0.180?0.202)and attained the highest level(1.730?0.331)in the fourth month. Then it decreased step by step and in the 17th month,it dropped to(0.668?0.109).2.The chest X-ray of 32.3%of 62 cases became normal in the first 3 months after onset of SARS and that of 56.5% did in the 17th month. However,if 22 cases were taken into account, who did not have a re-check,80% of the cases became normal and the left 5 cases were severe patients. 3.The lung function of 16 of 25 cases became normal in 6 months after onset and among the other 9 cases, the lung function of 4 cases had an improvement in the following 3 to 6 months. Conclusion The OD value of SARS-IgG in serum in the third day can be used as a screening test of SARS. Its remarkable increase in the third week will support the diagnosis. The chest X-ray and lung function of SARS patients will improve gradually and become normal in the final.

The ?-radioactive seed brachytherapy source has been widely employed in the implantation therapy for the prostatic carcinoma and the ophthalmic lesions. In this study the dosimetric parameters for characterization of a low-energy interstitial brachytherapy source 125I were calculated according to dose calculation formalism recommended by AAPM TG-43U1.For data processing,a 0.28 cm active length was used for the geometry function. The dosimetry parameter air-Kerma strength, dose rate constant, radial dose function and anisotropy function were estimated by means of the EGS5 Monte Carlo code. The results obtained from this study are in good agreement with the corresponding values recommended by TG-43U1 and with the data reported by Dolan,et al.

Objective To understand the mechanism of cerebral energy failure after hypoxia ischemia at the molecular level and to establish the protocol for the safe and effective treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods One hundred neonatal rats were divided into normal control group and hypoxic-ischemic(HI) group. SD rats of both groups were decapitated at the time of 2 h,24 h,48 h,72 h and 7 d after HI.These tissues of cerebrum, cortex and hippocampus were taken out to explore the influence of HI on the expression of GLUT1 and GLUT3 genes with the method of RT-PCR.Results There was an enhancement in the expression of GLUT1 and GLUT3 genes with the increasing of day age. The expression was more intense in hippocampus than that in cortex. However, HI could significantly enhance the expression of GLUT genes. The expression was higher in cortex than that in hippocampus. The expression of two genes reached the peak at 24 h after HI, but was significantly lower than that in control group at 7 d after HI.Conclusion The increased expression of GLUT genes can maintain the energy supplement for the brain and delay a cascade reaction of cerebral energy failure.

Objective To observe the effect of low molecular weight heparin calcium combined with astraga-lus injection in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. Methods From January 2013 to December 2014,78 patients with stage III diabetic nephropathy in our hospital were enrolled into the study. They were randomly divided into con-trol group(41 cases) and treatment group(37 cases). The control group received general therapy, such as low protein diets, compound alpha keto acid, insulin, irbesartan, simvastatin. The treatment group was treated with low molecular weight heparin calcium and astragalus injection on the basis of general therapy. The changes of urinary albumin and 24 hours urinary protein after treatment in the two groups were observed. Results After treatment, the negative rate of urinary micro albumin in the treatment group ( 75.68%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (29.27%)(χ2 =16.765,P<0.01).24 hour urinary protein of the treatment group[(176.2 ±82.3)mg/24h]was significantly lower than that of the control group[(223.8 ±87.8)mg/24h](t=2.471,P<0.05).Conclusion Low molecular weight heparin calcium combined with astragalus injection can reduce the proteinuria of diabetic nephropa-thy,it is an effective intervention therapy for early diabetic nephropathy.

Objective To study the differential expression of cell adhesion molecule(CAM) genes in the pathegenesis of AAA. Methods Microarray technique was applied to screen for the differential expression of CAM genes between AAA and normal aortic tissues. Results Three differentially expressed CAM genes were found in AAAs by microarray technique and molecular biology investigation, including VCAM 1, PECAM 1, TSP,with up regulating ratio of 5 683,3 601,57 406,respectively.Conclusion These abnormally up regulated CAM genes found in AAA might participate in the development of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
