Objective To investigate the effects of DNaseⅠ-treated streptococcal antigens on peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)proliferation in psoriasis patients.Methods PBMC from 15 patients with psoriasis and 10 healthy controls were stimulated with three concentrations(2,10,25?g/mL) of streptococcal antigens(SA), nd DNaseⅠ-treated streptococcal antigens(DNaseⅠ-SA).After 72 h of culture,cellular proliferation was determined by ~3H thymidine incorporation.Results The DNaseⅠ-SA,at all the concentrations tested,was less potent than the corresponding concentrations of SA(P0.05),however,the lower concentrations(2,10?g/mL) of DNaseⅠ-SA were less potent than those of SA(P0.05).Also,the extent of proliferation response to SA and DNaseⅠ-SA was higher in the patients than in the controls(P

BACKGROUND: There are disputes concerning limb salvage and reconstruction in treating pelvis malignant tumor.OBJECTIVE: To study the surgical treatment following resection of tumor at acetabular region in order to restore pelvic stability with less damage or recurrence.METHODS: Thirty-three patients diagnosed with pelvic tumor at Department of Orthopaedics, First Affiliated Hospital of Second Military Medical University from April 2002 to June 2008 were selected. All patients were received tumor resection and computer-aided prosthetic replacement, 18 patients (8 cases with chondrosarcoma, 2 cases with Ewing sarcoma, 2 cases with osteosarcoma, and 6 cases with malignant fibrous histiocytoma) were combined with antitumor drug treatment. Functional assessment of therapeutic efficacy was divided into 4 levels: excellent, good, moderate, and inferior.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Two patients died at months 4 and 6 after prosthetic replacement; 31 cases were followed-up for 8-32 months, mean 12.5 months. Seven cases were recurred chondrosarcoma, the recovery of other patients were as follow: 18 cases were excellent, 4 cases were good, 2 cases were moderate and no case was inferior. Most of limb function and pelvic stability was preserved. The results suggested that malignant fibrous histiocytoma and Ewing sarcoma can receive a high rate of limb preservation if treated by effective chemotherapy with low recurrence; the recurrence of chondrosarcoma was high. Tumor resection combined with computer-aided prosthetic replacement can maximatily reserve limb function and raise life quality.

Objective To investigate the processing characteristics of locative prepositions in patients with Chinese aphasia,and to provide the theoretical evidence for the rehabilitation of aphasia.Methods Twenty aphasic patients caused by left-hemisphere stroke and twenty matched normal controls were studied.Using the locative prepo- sition repeating task(single words,locative preposition phrases and words in sentences),the comprehension task, filling-gap task,the visual-spatial function task and the short-term memory task,we compared the performance be- tween these two groups.Results The aphasic patients had more difficulty in repeating locative prepositions in sen- tences,in comprehension task and filling-gap task,their short term memory was impaired.Both groups did well in re- peating single words and phrases.Conclusion The processing of locative prepositions was impaired in Chinese aphasics.The repetition of locative prepositions was more difficult than that of phrases and single words.The preposi- tions were often omitted.It might be due to the impairment of their short-term memory,or it might have something to do with role they played in the syntactic structure.The latter might also impact the comprehension and filling-gap score.We should make plans before rehabilitation therapy.

Objective In this paper we analyzed the major risk factors of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS) as well as its clinical manifestation,so as to provide a basis for clinical diagnosis and effective control of HFRS in Xi'an.Methods The method of retrospective study was used to collect clinical data of hospitalized patients with HFRS between 2005 and 2010 in the Hospitals for Infectious Diseases in Xi'an city,Zhouzhi and Huxian counties and then clinical manifestations of the patients with HFRS were analyzed and classified according to the national standards for clinical symptoms and test indicators of HFRS.HFRS patients matched by the ratio of 1 ∶ 2 healthy human controls were retrospectively investigated in order to obtain risk factors relevant to HFRS incidence using casecontrol study.Odds ratio(OR) method was used for single factor study.While for the multifactor study,we took the conditional Logistic regression approach.We also built models for both studies.Factor with OR ＞ 1 and P ＜ 0.05 was judged to be a risk factor.Results A total of 3090 cases information of patients with HFRS and 6018 healthy controls were collected.Of the 3090 cases of HFRS patients,sixty vaccinated patients showed atypical clinical manifestations and they were mild or moderate cases and no deaths.A total of 3030 nonvaccinated patients had obvious clinical symptoms.Severe or critical cases accounted for 39.07％(1184/3030)and 60 patients died and the fatality rate was 1.98％ (60/3030).The results of single factor Logistic regression analysis showed that of the 16 factors analyzed,the difference of 11 risk factors between the case group and the control group was statistically significant.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that of the 11 factors,the difference of six factors between the case group and the control group was statistically significant.The main risk factors of suffering HFRS in the order were:exposure to rat pollutants,living in the affected areas,sitting or lying on grass fields in the affected areas,working in the affected areas,house rat infestation,and domesticated cats or dogs(OR =6.826,5.764,4.882,4.857,3.126 and 2.875; P ＜ 0.01 or P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Vaccines are very useful in the sense that vaccinated HFRS patients tend to have mild symptoms and good prognosis.Health education in this area should be focused on the six risk factors in order to prevent the spreading of HFRS.

AIM:To evaluate the application and effect of bandage contact lens in pterygium excision combined with conjunctival transplantation (CAT).METHODS:In a prospective, randomized, controlled clinical study, 110 patients (110 eyes) diagnosed with primary pterygium were collected in PLA NO.474 Hospital from January 2015 to January 2016.The 110 patients enrolled in the study in turn, and divided into two groups by the odd and even number.The odd number divided into bandage contact lens group (CAT + bandage contact lens, n=55), while the even number divided into control group (CAT, n=55).Visual analog scale (VAS) and corneal irritation were evaluated on 1, 3 and 7d after operation.Cornea fluorescent staining testing was carried out on 3d after operation.Following-up all the patients with 1a at least observed the recurrence of pterygium.RESULTS:The score of VAS in bandage contact lens group less than that in control group on 1d (4.13±2.06 vs 5.80±1.93, t=4.391, P<0.001) and 3d (2.09±1.36 vs 3.65±1.65, t=5.422, P<0.001) after operation, while there was no significant difference between two groups on 7d (t=1.295, P=0.198) after operation.The corneal irritation in bandage contact lens group less than that in control group on 1d and 3d after operation (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference between two groups on 7d after operation (P=0.052).Cornea fluorescent staining testing area in bandage contact lens group was less than that in control group on 7d after operation (0.33±0.37mm2 vs 2.73±2.21mm2, t=7.921, P<0.01).There was no significant difference in recurrence rate between two groups after 1a operation (P=1.000).CONCLUSION:Bandage contact lens could significantly release pain and corneal irritation, promote the healing of the corneal epitheliums in the defected area, and increase the postoperative comfort level in patients after operation.

Objective To explore the related factors for the prognosis in elderly cancer patients with cerebral metastases,to study the adaptability of brain metastasis in recursive partitioning analysis (RPA)and the prognosis Assessment (GPA) Scale,in order to provide the basis for the prognosis assessment and treatment in the elderly patients with brain metastasis.Methods A retrospective analysis was studied in 102 elderly cancer patients with brain metastasis (aged 60 years and over) with complete follow-up data in our hospital from January 2005 to January 2012.Survival analysis was performed by using the Kaplan-Meier method.Univariate analysis of ethnicity,age,Karnofsky score,gender,smoking,primary tumor origin,the number of intracranial metastatic tumor,intracranial and extracranial metastasis,the efficacy of treatment for primary tumor,the treatment of brain metastases were analyzed by Log-rank test.Results The median survival time was 6 months.The 6-month and 12-month survival rates were 54.90％ and 16.67％ respectively.Univariate analysis showed that Karnofsky score,smoking,the number of intracranial metastatic tumor,time to diagnosis and treatment,the efficacy of treatment for primary tumor and other underlying diseases were the relative factors for prognosis of elderly cancer patients with brain metastases (x2 =20.828,5.737,7.395,5.379,11.556,6.844,all P＜0.05).Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that the Karnofsky score,the number of intracranial metastatic tumor,the efficacy of treatment for primary tumor and other underlying diseases were the independent prognostic factors (all P＜0.05).The median survival periods in RPA class Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ were 11,7,4 month respectively (x2 =27.358,P＜0.001).The median survival periods in GPA class Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ-Ⅳ were 5,8,13 months respectively (x2 =29.570,P＜0.001).Conclusions Karnofsky score,the number of intracranial metastatic tumor,the efficacy of treatment for primary tumor and other underlying diseases are the independent factors for the prognosis in elderly cancer patients with cerebral metastases.RPA and GPA classification have a good adaptability in elderly patients with brain metastases.

OBJECTIVETo explore and analyze the cognitive quality of professional divers.

METHODS165 professional divers were tested with Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), 80.8 Neural Type Measuring Form, etc. with 230 common people, 49 sailors and 66 trainee divers as control.

RESULTSThere were significant difference among professional divers of different ages in the type of nerve activity, cognitive style, action stability, memory span, time reaction, the perception of space, act of attention and dark adaptation (P < 0.05); Over all, the cognitive quality of professional divers did not differ significantly in education level or working years (P < 0.05); Professional divers were superior to the common people in depth perception, cognitive style, act of attention, action stability, the perception of space and dark adaptation, but inferior to them in intelligence, memory span and time reaction (P < 0.05); There were significant difference in such cognitive indicators as the type of nerve activity, depth perception, kinesthetic memory, cognitive style, the perception of space and dark adaptation (P < 0.05); Compared with the trainee divers, professional divers were significantly better in the type of nerve activity, cognitive style, act of attention, action stability and the perception of space (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONAs a specified profession, diving needs some particular cognitive quality, while the profession itself would affect professional divers' cognitive ability to a certain extent.
