Objective To observe the clinical effects of Bufei Yishen treatment on quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in stable period. Methods Sixty-four patients were randomly divided into two groups, the control group (32 cases) received Atrovent metered dose inhaling and Mucosolvan po. The treatment group (32 cases) received the fluid extract of Bufei Yishen besides the routine treatment. Both groups were treated for three months. The changes of scores of TCM syndrome and cardinal symptom, quality of life (QOL), lung function were observed before and after the treatment. Results The scores of TCM syndrome and cardinal symptom, quality of life of the treatment group were significantly higher than the control group (P0.05). Conclusion Bufei Yishen treatment has significantly effect on quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in stable period.

Objective To investigate the clinicopathologic features, the complications of splenectomy and the survival of epithelial ovarian cancer patients with splenic metastasis. Methods A retrospective study was performed of 32 pailents with epithelial ovarian cancer who underwent splenectomy for tumor cytoreduction at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital between Jan 1998 and Jun 2006.Results Of 32 patients,23 patients(72%)were serous adenocarcinoma and 9 were non-serous adenocarcinoma.According to pathological grade, none was of G1,11 were of G2,21 were of G3.Postoperatively,20 patients were left with no residual tumor.7 were with≤2 cm and 5 were with>2 cm residual tumor.Postoperative complications developed in 8 patients(25%),including subphrenic abscess, wound infection, gastric perforation, gastrorrhagia, phlebothrombosis, and bowel obstruction. The median follow up was 38 months, estimated 2-year and 5-year overall survival were 70%and 36%.Univariate analysis revealed that histological grade, residual tumor and courses of chemotherapy were influencing factors of the survival(P<0.05),but multivariate analysis indicated that only residual tumor and courses of chemotherapy independently influenced survival(P<0.05).Conclusions In epithelial ovarian cancer patients with splenic metastasis, low grade serous adenocarcinoma is most common.Splenectomy as part of cytoreductive surgery is associated with modest morbidity and mortality.Residual tumor and courses of chemotherapy are independent factors associated with the prognosis of the patients.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of early induced finger function training on motor function and activities of daily living (ADL) of stroke patients.Methods60 stroke patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into the early induced finger function training group (treatment group) and control group with 30 cases in each group. The patients of the control group were treated with routine rehabilitation; while those of the treatment group were added with training of early induced flexion and extension of fingers. All patients of two groups were assessed with Brunnstorm Scale, Fugl-Meyer Assessment, scores of Neurological Functional Deficit, and Modified Barthel Index before and 8~12 weeks after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, upper limb motor function, hand function and fingers' fine function in the sick side of the patients in the treatment group improved significantly better than that in the control group ( P<0.05~0.01).ConclusionThe early induced finger function training can obviously improve the upper limb motor function and ADL of stroke patients.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2003;0(07):-
Objective To investigate molecular diagnostic method for hereditarymethemoblobinemia. Methods The cDNA coding sequence of NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase (b5R) from 3 patients with hereditary methemoglobinemia was analyzed by direct sequencing of RT-PCR products and the genomic DNA of b5R gene by PCR-restriction endonuclease digestion or PCR-sequencing. Results The b5R cDNA of patient A was T/C heterozygous at nucleotide 527 and G/A heterozygous at nucleotide 608. The b5R cDNA of patient B was G/A heterozygous at both nucleotide 170 and nucleotide 179. The b5R cDNA of patient C was G/A heterozygous at nucleotide 608 and C/T heterozygous at nucleotide 791. Result of genomic DNA analysis was in agreement with that of cDNA approach. Conclusion The method for molecular diagnosis of hereditary methemoglobinemia was established and 3 novel b5R gene mutations were identified in compound heterozygosity in 3 Chinese patients.

OBJECTIVEThis study is to establish the fingerprint and find out the common chromatographic peaks of Inula cappa by HPLC.
METHODThe HPLC analysis was performed on an Agilent Eclipse Plus C18 column (2.1 mm x 150 mm, 1.8 μm) with 0.1% fomic acid aqueous solution-0.1% fomic acid acetonitrile solution as mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.3 · mL(-1) · min(-1); The detective wavelength is 325 nm; The column temperature is 45 °C.
RESULTThe results indicated that 5 of 17 common peaks were identified . The similarity about 10 groups of Inulacappais is over 0.95.
CONCLUSIONThis method is able to be a scientific basis of quality assessment according to its convenient and reliable.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2009;29(1):107-11
In order to better understand the clinical manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with intracranial hypertension syndrome (IHS), we analyzed the clinical features and treatment of a typical SLE patient with IHS. SLE is one of the most unpredictable autoimmune diseases involving multiple organ systems that is defined clinically and associated with antibodies directed against cell nuclei. IHS is an uncommon manifestation of neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) and is characterized by an elevated intracranial pressure, papilledema, and headache with occasional abducens nerve paresis, absence of a space-occupying lesion or ventricular enlargement, and normal cerebrospinal fluid chemical and hematological constituents. IHS has been reported in a few sporadic cases in patients with SLE worldwide, but rarely has been reported in China. In this study, a 34-year-old female SLE patient with IHS was reported and pertinent literature reviewed. The clinical presentation, image logical features, and investigatory findings were discussed.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2016;32(1):35-39
OBJECTIVE:
To compare pattern-pulse multifocal visual evoked potential (PPmfVEP) with pattern-reversal multifocal visual evoked potential (PRmfVEP), and to investigate the symmetry of mfVEP between both eyes in normal individuals.
METHODS:
The multifocal Vision Monitor was used to observe the mfVEP. T-test and ANOVA were used to analyze P1 wave, amplitude and signal noise ratios (SNR) of two mfVEPs.
RESULTS:
The SNR and the P1 amplitude reached the maximum at the central visual field and decreased with the increase of eccentricity, and then decreased slowly. The amplitude of the PPmfVEP was significantly smaller than the PRmfVEP in the central retina, while in the peripheral retina the result was exactly the opposite. SNR and amplitude of the PRmfVEP showed no statistical difference in both eyes (P > 0.05). The variance of the amplitude at the same side of visual field was larger than that at the symmetrical visual quadrant.
CONCLUSION
mfVEP can reflect the visual function in different parts of retina objectively and exactly. PPmfVEP reflect the vision function of the central retina better than PRmfVEP. The stability of PPmfVEP is better than PRmfVEP in the central retina, while the result is opposite in the peripheral retina. The mfVEP is symmetrical in both eyes of the same individual.
