West China Journal of Stomatology 2015;33(5):551-553
The etiology of rotated maxillary central incisor is unclear, but it has a clear familial tendency. Except for the environmental factors, gene expression directly influences craniofacial growth and the types of malocclusion deformity. In this article, a case of 180° rotated left maxillary central incisor of a male with family history of the deformity was reported. Relevant literature was also reviewed.

Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2012;18(10):805-808
Tissue engineering has evolved as a dynamic research field that encompasses multidisciplinary approaches involving cytology, material science, bioreactor engineering, and medicine. The overarching goal is to construct human tissue and organs in the laboratory for tissue regeneration or replacement. It offers a potential solution to the donor shortage in organ transplantation and to the difficulties in regenerative medicine. The basic components for tissue engineering include seed cell selection,bio-scaffold construction, and ex vivo tissue formation via a bioreactor. Over the past decade, tremendous progress has been made in bioengineering cartilage, trachea, urinary bladder, heart valve and endocrine tissues. However, there remain significant challenges in creating complex and human-sized tissues and organs for clinical use.In this article,we review the basic components and strategies for bioengineering organs. We attempt to provide an overview of current progress and challenges in developing organ-level tissue engineering and in the successful translation of bioengineered tissue and organ products into daily clinical practice.

Objective To assess the safety and efficacy of an olive oil-based lipid emulsion for parenteral nutrition in patients after hepatectomy. Methods Thirty-one postoperative patients with elective hepateetomy were randomized to receive isonitrogenous, isocalorie parenteral nutrition over 6 days after liver lobectomy(48-72hours)with either olive oil-based lipid emulsion(study group,n=15)or standard soybean oil emulsion(control group,n=16).The liver function and plasma protoins were assessed using peripheral venous blood collected before surgery, one day after surgery, and 7 days after surgery. The safety profiles of emulsion supports and postoperative rehabilitation were also assessed. Results The preoperative serum levels of total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, alanine amiotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, albumin, and prealbumin were comparable between the two groups(all P>0.05).Although the Postoperative safety profile and liver function were not significantly different between two groups(all P>0.05),plasma total proteins, albumin, and prealbumin returned to the normal levels significantly faster in the study group than in control group[(57.57±9.84)g/L vs.(47.76±6.53)g/L,P=0.000;(31.29±3.11)g/L vs.(26.34±4.87)g/L,P=0.000;(0.188±0.059)g/L vs.(0.103±0.037)g/L,P=0.000]on the 7th Postoperative day,and the Postoperative hospital stay was also significantly shorter in the study group[(13.1±1.2)d vs.(15.2±1.1)d,P=0.041].The incidence of postoperative complications in study group and control group was 26.7%and 31.3%.respectively.Conclusions Treatment with the new olive oil-based lipid emulsion is weU tolerated in hepatectomy patients. It can speed up plasma proteins recovery and may shorten postoperative hospital stay, although it does not remarkably decrease the incidence of postoperative complications.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
Femurs of 206 Chinese adults (122 males and 84 females) were used for the present study. Their lengths, and torsional and inclinational angles were measured after Martin's method. The results are as follows:1. The Lengths of FemurThe average length of the femur in males is 43.68?2.02 cm. (43.77?2.02 cm. on the left side, and 43.61?2.04 cm. on the right), while that in females is 40.96?2.84 cm. (41.05?2.84 cm. on the left side and 40.93?2.84 cm. on the right). No significant difference has been found between the femoral lengths of both sides; however, there is a significant difference between both sexes.2. The inclinational angles of femoral neckTheir average value in the male is 128.46??6.58?(128.87??6.76?on the left side, and 127.46??6.60? on the right), but that in the female is 130.52??6.44?(130.88??6.10? on the left side, and 130.17??6.80? on the right). No significant difference exists between both sides; however, there is a significant difference between both sexes.3. The Torsional Angles of FemurTheir average value in the male is 11.95??8.89? (14.51??8.08? on the left side, and 9.20??7.75? on the right), whereas that in the female is 12.80??9.07? (15.95??9.63? on the left side, and 9.63??7.31? on the right). There is a significant difference between two sides, but no significant difference between both sexes.4. The relationship between the inclinational and torsional angles on one hand and the changes in the femoral lengths on the other has been studied by dividing the femurs into groups according to their lengths. It has been shown that the changes in the femoral length exert no effect upon the inclinational and torsional angles of the femoral necks, neither in the male nor in the female.Besides, a comparison has also been made between the femurs of both sides and both sexes, between the femoral lengths and the inclinational and torsional angles, and between the variant ranges of the torsional angles of femurs. A discussion on these problems has been made with reference to the racial differences.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
Objective: To investigate the effects and mechanisms of inositol hexaphosphate(IP6)on cell cycle of HT-29 human colon carcinoma cell line. Method: HT-29 cells were exposed to various concentrations of IP6 for certain time. The effect of IP6 on cells proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay. Flow cytometric analysis was performed for cell cycle progression. Immunocytochemical stain was used to detect the expression of p53 and p21 protein. Results: A significant dose-dependent as well as time-dependent growth inhibition was observed in IP6-treated HT-29 cells, and associated with an increase in G1 arrest; Different concentrations of IP6 decreased the abnormal expressions of p53 gene and strongly increased the expression of p21. Conclusions: IP6 had an inhibitory effect on proliferation of HT-29 cells .and its mechanisms might be related to many factors, such as inhibiting the abnormal expression of p53 gene, inducing the expression of cell cycle inhibitor p21 which block the cell cycle.
