Objective To evaluate the application of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) in the treatment of traumatic hemothorax. Methods We performed VATS in 60 cases of traumatic hemothorax with medium amount of bleeding or above from March 2000 to March 2004, including 12 cases accompanying the prodrome of shock and 6 cases associated with injuries of liver or spleen. Unilateral VATS was carried out in 48 cases, all of which were completed under thoracoscope except 3 cases of heart injuries were supplemented with mini-incision repair. Bilateral VATS was conducted in 6 cases and the combination of thoracoscopy with laparoscopy was required in 6 cases. Results The operation time was 45~175 min (mean, 105 min) and the postoperative hospital stay was 7~13 days (mean, 11 days). No complication occurred. Conclusions VATS in the management of traumatic hemothorax is safe, effective and minimally invasive, with a relatively short operation time and quick recovery.

Objective To discuss the confirmed value of HCV Different Region ELISA KIT (ANTI-HCV-C, ANTI-HCV-NS3, ANTI-HCV-NS4, ANTI-HCV-NS5) to anti-HCV CO sample. Methods To inspect the general antibody of anti-HCV with ELISA, which is commonly used in clinic. The serum was separated from the suspicious samples, whose results were equal to S/CO or in the state of grey district ( CO?10%), and stored in the refrigerator in -29℃ low temperature and concenratedly inspected by the HCV Different Region ELISA KIT on the Triturus, the enayme immuno-reactions automatic analyzer. We totally collected 44 suspicious samples, among which there were 24 anti-HCV positive,20 anti-HCV CO?10% negative. Meanwhile we collected 30 samples whose S/CO of general antiboby was more than 5.0 and 20 ones which were healthy and could be compared with. Results In the 44 suspicious cases, whose S/CO was in the state of grey disrtict (CO?10%), the HCV Different Region Kit confirmed positive was 22.7% (10/44),suspicious 6.8% (3/44), negative 70.5 % (31/44).The false positive rate of positive anti-HCV CO?10% was 54.2%(13/24) and the false negative rate of negative anti-HCV CO?10% was 5.0%(1/20). In the 30 cases, whose S/CO of general antibody was more than 5.0,the HCV Different Region Kit confirmed positive was 80.0%(24/30),suspicious 13.3%(4/30), negative 67%(2/30). In 20 cases, which were from healthy people, the HCV Different Region Kit confirmed totally negative. Conclusion Using HCV Different Region Kit is a better evidence laboratory, especially for the uncertain samples, that is,it is very important for the "grey district"(CO?10%) samples to be further confirmed. It can reduce the false positive and false negative result which may emerge when anti HCV EIA inspects the dangerous groups and improve the accuracy of clinical HCV diagnosis. To blood station, it has certain practical value for the blood not only can be safely used, but also avoided wasting. The operation is simple and convenient, easily be spread and applied.

Objective To evaluate the effect of early aerosol inhalation on sore throat of the patients after double lumen endobronchial intubation. Methods 90 patients scheduled for thoracic surgery were randomly assigned to 3 groups,30 cases in each group: control group (Group C), early aerosol inhalation group (group one) and later aerosol inhalation group (group two). All patients were sent to PACU after extubation. The patients in group C were intraveously injected with 6 mL saline , those in group one were treated with aerosol inhalation of 1mg budesonide, while the patients in group two with budesonide at the same dosage 2 h later. Patients were examined with indirect laryngoscopy 6 h after surgery. The cases of vocal cord congestion and glottis edema were recorded. The degree of pharyngolaryneal pain was assessed with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) when they were sent to PACU , 6 , 24 and 48 hours after surgery . Results The rates of vocal cord congestion and glottis edema in group one were lower than those in group C and group 2, 6 h after surgery (P < 0.05). The pharyngolaryneal VAS in group one was significantly lower than that in group C and group 2 , 6 and 24 h after operation (P < 0.05), but there was no statistical difference between them 48 h after surgery between 3 groups. Conclusions Aerosol inhalation of budesonide after double lumen endobronchial intubation for the patients scheduled for thoracic surgery during early postoperative stage can reduce the incidences of vocal cord congestion and glottis edema, inhibit airway inflammation, significantly reduce the extent of the POST. The effect is better than that of the lateraerosol inhalation of budesonide.

Isolation of high-quality genomic DNA from dried and processed crude drug is the key for the DNA identification of Dendrobii Caulis. The DNA extract of Dendrobii Caulis was firstly compared using different method to isolate genomic DNA from dried and processed crude drug, including commercial DNA extracted kit and CTAB method. Using modified CTAB method (extracted from large samples), the genomic DNA was successfully isolated from Dendrobii Caulis, including Huangcao and Fengdou. The ITS regions were amplified using the purified DNA as template, and then cloned and sequenced. These ITS sequences were compared with data from Genbank database and our lab, 14 Dendrobium species and five similar species were identified from "Huangcao" and "Huangcao" slice, while six species and three similar species from "Fengdou" according to their sequence similarity. The study demonstrated that the dried Dendrobii Caulis could be identified using DNA molecular method, which could overcome deficiencies and limitations of traditional identification method and has a certain application prospects.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(42):6747-6751
BACKGROUND:Tougu Xiaotong Capsule has pretty good clinical therapeutic effect on osteoarthritis of early and middle periods. However, the mechanism of Tougu Xiaotong Capsule is not ful y clarified. The RhoA GTPases can regulate chondrocyte apoptosis and hypertrophy.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the Tougu Xiaotong Capsule on the expression of Rac1and Cdc42 in tumor necrosis factor-α-induced in vitro cultured rat articular chondrocytes, and to explore its mechanism of action for combating osteoarthritis.
METHODS:Knee cartilage of the 4-week-old Sprague-Dawley rats was used to stably establish in vitro culture system of chondrocytes. Passage 3 chondrocytes were identified by toluidine blue staining. Chondrocyte apoptosis was successful y induced by 20μg/L tumor necrosis factor-αand then Tougu Xiaotong Capsule at different dosage (500, 100, 20 mg/L) was given after 24-hour incubation. MTT assay was used to detect cellsurvival, flow cytrometry to measure mitochondrial membrane potential, and western blot assay to determine the protein expression of Rac1, Cdc42, Bax and Bcl-2.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Tougu Xiaotong Capsule could reduce tumor necrosis factor-α-induced apoptosis of chondrocytes to improve the survival rate of the cells, and at the same time, could down-regulate the protein expression of Rac1, Cdc42 and Bax and increase the protein expression of Bcl-2 significantly (P<0.05). Tougu Xiaotong Capsule possibly plays a therapeutic efficacy on osteoarthritis by reducing promote apoptosis Rac1, Cdc42 and Bax expression and increasing apoptosis inhibiting gene Bcl-2 expression, thereby to inhibit apoptosis of chondrocytes.
