OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of breviscapine on memory and antioxidation ability in A(342-induced Alzheimer's disease (AD) rat model. METHODS: AD rat model was established by intracerebroventricular injection of A (342. Besides, sham-operated mice served as control group. The learning and memory ability was determined by Morris water maze test. The activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of Malondialdehyde (MDA) in brain tissue were measured with spectrophotometer. RESULTS: Compared with control group, AD model significantly prolonged the latency of searching the hidden platform in directional swimming test, and decreased time spent in swimming in the target quadrant in probe test. Breviscapine dose-dependently shortened the latency of searching the hidden platform in directional swimming test, and increased the time spent swimming in the target quadrant in probe test. The activities of GSH-Px and SOD were decreased, and the MDA content was increased in AD model rats. In breviscapine treatment groups, the activities of GSH-Px and SOD heightened and MDA content decreased, and there was significant difference compared with AD model group. CONCLUSION: Breviscapine can dose-dependently ameliorate the impaired learning and memory function of AD model rats and improve antioxidation ability. Objective To investigate the association of ret gene rearrangement mutation with the pathogenesis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Methods Twenty-seven cases of PTC were analysed for expression of ret gene rearrangement (ret/PTCs) by multiplex-PCR at first, and then ret/PTC1-3 were identified by identification-PCR (ID-PCR). Finally, the specific ret/PTC was affirmed by automated direct sequencing. Ten specimens of malignant thyroid tissues of other histological types, 33 benign thyroid lesions and 30 normal thyroid specimens beside tumor (as the control) were also included. Results (1) Fifteen samples showed positive ret/PTCs, 11 of which harboured ret/PTC1,3 were positive for ret/PTC3, and 1 for ret/PTC2. All the rearrangements were clearly identified by automated direct sequencing of ID-PCR products. (2) All the 15 ret/PTC-positive tissue samples were histologically confirmed to be PTC. The prevalence of the tumor-specific ret rearrangements in 27 patients with PTC is 55.6% (15/27). (3) No significant difference was found regarding the gender and age of the patients, tumor size and metastasis of neck lymph node. 33.3% (2/6) of the PTC with invasion of extrathyroidal soft tissue were ret/PTC-positive, as compared with 66.7%(4/6) for ret/PTC-negative group (P

ObjectiveTo explore the influence of electrical stimulation on nervous cells.MethodsOn 5th day the brain primitive nervous cells of rat brain, in vitro culturing, were divided into 4 groups, in order of control group, electrical pole control group, low stimulation group, and high stimulation group. The cells were stimulated with electro-acupuncture apparatus for 7 days, 30 minutes once, twice a day. On 10th day, the cells were observed microscopically for 3 days and taken photos.ResultsElectrical stimulation is helpful to raise the survival rate of cell.Conclusions Electrical stimulation influences morphological change of nervous cells during culturing.

BackgroundIn an ideal eye there would be no light scattering at all,but the eye media is not optically ideal.Intraocular straylight causes a veil of light and reduction in the contrast of the retinal image and thus decrease the quality of vision.ObjectiveThe present study was to investigate the repeatability and reproducibility of C-Quant straylight meter( Oculus,Germany)in measuring retinal straylight of myopia and post-laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) corneas.MethodsThis is a prospective research.The consecutive 35 eyes of 21 myopic patients and 34 eyes of 22 patients who received LASIK were included in this trail.Retinal straylight was measured for 7 times at a period of time and analyzed quantificational to evaluate the repeatability of measurement.Thirty-eight eyes of 19 patients were measured again at 3-7 days for 3 times at a period of time to assess the reproducibility of C-Quant straylight meter.The mean standard difference (SD) and coefficient of variation (CV) were used as the credibility evaluation.This clinical study complied with Helsinki Declaration and the informed consent was obtained prior to the medical procedure.ResultsThe straylight Log(s) of 7 times measurement were all less than 0.95.The mean Log(s) were 0.92±0.12 and 0.93±0.17 respectively in myopia group and post-LASIK group,without statistically significant differences among 7 times measurement( F=0.335,P=0.812;F=1.000,P=0.409).The mean SD for the 7 times measurement was 0.07 Log units.SD and CV increased with the number of measurements.The differences of mean SD and CV between 3 times result and 6 times result were significant different (t =-2.080,P =0.045;t =-2.190,P =0.035 ).No difference was found between different time periods( t =-0.531,P=0.598 ).The difference of the results between two measurements from the same patient was 0.013.ConclusionsC-Quant is a noncontact,noninvade,rapid and convenient method for the measurement of straylight in myopia and post-LASIK eyes due to the high repeatability and reproducibility.

Objective Helicobacter pylori（ ）， To investigate the infection status of HP and analyze the correlation between HP Methods infection and serum bilirubin in railway drivers. A total of 2 731 railway drivers in Zhengzhou locomotive depot were - selected as study subjects using judgment sampling method. Carbon 13 urea breath test was used to evaluate the HP infection ， status. The metabolic indexes of HP positive group and HP negative group were compared and the relationship between HP Results （ ） ， infection and serum bilirubin was analyzed. The HP infection rate was 42.3% 1 156/2 731 . The older the age the ， （ ）， （ P ） longer the work years and the higher the body mass index BMI the higher the HP infection rate all <0.01 . The infection （P ） rate of HP in married people was higher than that in unmarried people <0.01 . The HP infection rate of smokers was higher - （P ） - ， than that of non smokers <0.01 . Compared with the HP negative group fasting blood glucose and serum levels of total ， （ - ）， （ ） - cholesterol low density lipoprotein cholesterol LDL C triglyceride and homocysteine Hcy were increased in the HP （ P ） （ - ）， ， positive group all <0.05 . The serum levels of high density lipoprotein cholesterol HDL C total bilirubin direct bilirubin （ ） - （ P ） DBIL and indirect bilirubin were lower than those in HP negative group all <0.05 . Objective To explore the effect of Okam on airway inflammation in asthmatic mouse.Methods Thirty-two SPF grade Kunming Strain mice were randomly divided into positive control group,glucocorticoid inhalation group,Okam group and negative control group with 8 mice in each group.The mice were sensitized and repeatedly challenged with ovalbumin(OVA) to establish the models of chronic asthma.The glucocorticoid group were given Budesonide(200 ?g) and saline everyday by inhalation,the Okam group were given 50 mg/kg Okam by gavage,and the positive group had saline at the same time,the negative control group received saline at all stages.The inflammation of the lung tissue were scored underwent HE staining.Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) cell count and differential were studied,and interferon-?(IFN-?),interleukin-4(IL-4) in BALF were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results There were no inflammatory cell infiltrate of bronchiole in the negative control group.Inflammatory infiltration of lung tissue were obvious in the positive control group.Inflammatory infiltration of lung tissue lightened obviously in the Budesonide and Okam groups.The total cell number,Eosinophils(EOS) and IL-4 level in BALF,and the score of the lung tissue in Okam group were all markedly lower than those in positive control group(t=5.942,7.089,7.078 Pa0.05),IFN-? lower(t=4.275 P

Objective To assess the value of three-dimensional contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (3D-CEUS) in evaluation of hepatic arteries variants.Methods Both two-dimensional contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (2D-CEUS) and 3D-CEUS were used to assess 30 patients including living donor candidates and patients with upper abdomen tumors.The reference standard was operation or CTA or DSA or MRA,and the accuracy for detecting hepatic artery variants provided by the two methods was evaluated.Arterial anatomic types were defined by using Michels classification.Results The total accuracy for detecting hepatic artery anatomy types by 2D-CEUS was 40.0% (12/30),while 83.3% (25/30) by 2D-CEUS.For convention anatomy types the accuracy on 2D-CEUS and 3D-CEUS were 40.9%(9/22)and 90.9%(20/22),respectively.The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).For anatomy variants types the accuracy on 2D-CEUS and 3D-CEUS were 37.5%(3/8)and 62.5%(5/8),respectively.No significant difference between these two methods was observed.Conclusion 3D-CEUS was a new method in diagnosis of hepatic arteries anatomy types with practical clinical value in evaluation of the living liver donors.

Objective:To explore influence of health education on quality of life and compliance in community pa‐tients with coronary heart disease (CHD) .Methods :A total of 83 community CHD patients were selected and ran‐domly divided into routine treatment group (n=38 ,received routine treatment of CHD ) and health education group (n=45 ,received CHD health education based on routine treatment ) .Score of Seattle angina questionnaire (SAQ) after intervention ,therapeutic compliance and incidence rate of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) with‐in six months were compared between two groups .Results:Compared with routine treatment group after interven‐tion ,there were significant rise in each item score and total score of SAQ [total score ,(54.3 ± 7.2) scores vs .(65.4 ± 7.5) scores] ,P<0.05 all;and therapeutic compliance also significantly rose (good rate ,52.6% vs .77.8% ) in health education group , P< 0.05. After six‐month follow‐up ,total incidence rate of MACE in health education group was significantly lower than that of routine treatment group (8.9% vs .26.3% ) , P< 0.05. Conclusion:Health education can significantly improve quality of life ,compliance and prognosis in community patients with cor‐onary heart disease ,which is worth clinical extending and use .

mutants which didnt produce red pigmen ts on malt extract agar plate were obtained.The 8 stable mutants were cultured on solid medium.Two samples wer e yellow,the others were white.The extracted samples were scanned in visible len gth.2 yellow samples showed only one absorptive peak at 370nm,the 6 white sample s showed no absorptive peak.The mutants producing only yellow pigments on solid medium were tested in liquid culture.The results indicated their ability to pro duce only yellow pigments were stable.
