Objective: To investigate the cultural and psychological adaptation of business expatriates in the Chinese mainland. Methods: The questionnaires included sociocultural adaptation questionnaire and psychological adaptation questionnaire. Results: The construct of sociocultural adaptation could be divided into three dimensions: living conditions, interaction and communication, and cognition and value system. The sociocultural adaptation pattern showed a double-U-curve and the psychological adaptation pattern showed a decreasing tendency by time. There was no significant discrepancy in sociocultural adaptation across cultural distance. Conclusion: The cultural and psychological adaptation is difficult for business expatriates in China. The reasons perhaps include insufficient cultural training and improper training time.

Objective To observe the changes of expression and activity of heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) in lung tissue of preterm rats exposed to hyperoxia, and explore the role of HO-1 in hyperexia-induced lung injury of preterm rats. Methods Three-day-old preterm rats of standard SD were randomly assigned to hyperoxia group and air group. At the third and 7th day of exposure, the expressions of HO-1 mRNA were detected by means of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and the cellular distribution and expressions of HO-1 protein in the lung were measured by immunohistochemical techniques, respectivesly, and the active of HO-1 was determined also. Results On the third day,in air group, the expressions of HO-1 mRNA(0.17 ?0.08),HO-1(7.23?4.63)were mildly expressed and the activity of HO-1 was(4.32?1.57) nmol/(mg?h);compared with those of air group, the expression of HO-1 mRNA in hyperoxia group(0.72?0.33) was significantly increased(Pa

ObjectiveTo evaluate the safety and effects of pseudomonas aerug PA-MSHA vaccine on cytoimmunity in advanced gastric cancer patients. MethodsSeventy two patients with advanced gastric cancer were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. Tumor bed was treated intraoperatively by pseudomonas vaccine injection in experimental group. The venous bloods were sampled prior to surgery (preoperative) and on days 10,20,and 30 postoperatively. The total lymphocyte count and lymphocyte subpopulations were detected while the postoperative complications and adverse drug reaction were observed, prognosis was evaluated. ResultsThe total lymphocyte count(P =0.042) and the counts ofCD3+ lymphocyte(P =0.027) and NK cell increased (P =0.012) obviously in experimental group.CD8+ lymphocyte decreased(P =0.037),but the counts of CI4+ lymphocyte and CD4+/CD8+ were not significantly different.Complications were not significantly different in the two groups. One year survival rate was longer ( 94.9% ) in experimental group than that in the control group ( 83.3% ) ( P =0.022 ).ConclusionsPeritoneal cavity administration with pseudomonas aerug vaccine was safe, and effectively helps regulate cytoimmunity in postoperative patients of advanced gastric carcinoma.

OBJECTlVE To investigate the effect of Guiyuan tablets on the analgesic effect of morphine and morphine-induced tolerance and hyperalgesia. METHODS ① The model of morphine-induced acute tolerance Mice were ig treated with Guiyuan tablets 200, 400 and 800 mg·kg-1 and 15 min later were sc treated with morphine 10 mg·kg-1 every hour for consecutive 9 h. At 24 and 48 h, they were sc treated with morphine 10 mg·kg-1 alone, respectively.②The model of morphine-induced chronic tolerance Mice were ig treated with Guiyuan tablets 200, 400 and 800 mg·kg-1 and 15 min later were sc treated with morphine 10 mg·kg-1 every day for consecutive 8 d. On d 9, the mice were sc treated with morphine 10 mg·kg-1 alone. ③ The model of morphine-induced established tolerance. Mice were sc treated with morphine 10 mg·kg-1 every day for consecutive 8 d. On d 1, d 4 or d 7, the mice began to be ig co-administered with Guiyuan 200 mg·kg-1 . On d 9, they were sc treated with morphine 10 mg·kg-1 alone. The hot-plate test was used to detect the values of the baseline latency ( T0 ) and the post-treatment latency ( T1 ) before the percentage of maximal possible analgesic effect (%MPAE) was calculated. Spec-trophotometry was used to detect the nitric oxide synthase ( NOS) activity and the nitric oxide ( NO) con-tent in the tissue of the spinal cord. RESULTS The ED50 of the analgesic effect of Guiyuan tablets was 523.5 mg·kg-1 in the hot-plate test. Guiyuan tablets 200 and 400 mg·kg-1 prolonged the duration of mor-phine anti-nociception and deceased its ED50 from 4.67 to 3.14 and 0.65 mg·kg-1, respectively. ln the models of both acute and chronic tolerance, Guiyuan tablets prevented the decrease of the%MPAE and the baseline latencies ( P<0. 05 ) . ln the model of morphine-induced established tolerance, Guiyuan tablets rapidly reversed the decrease of%MPAE( P<0.05) , and this compound preparation which began to be co-administered with morphine from d 1 could significantly inhibit the increase of the NOS activity and NO content induced by morphine in the spinal cord ( P<0.01) . CONCLUSlON Guiyuan tablets are capable of enhancing the analgesic effect of morphine, prolonging the duration of morphine anti-nocicep-tion, preventing the development of morphine-induced tolerance and hyperalgesia, and might have neuroprotective effect.

OBJECTIVETo compare robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALRP) with laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) in the treatment of prostate cancer and investigate the clinical application value of RLRP.
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed 70 cases of prostate cancer treated by RALRP and another 32 cases treated by LRP. We compared the operation time, intraoperative blood loss and transfusion, catheter-indwelling time, postoperative hospital stay, incisal margin positive rate, biochemical recurrence, and normal postoperative urinary continence and penile erectile function between the two groups of patients.
RESULTSAll the operations were successfully accomplished. RALRP exhibited a significant superiority over LRP in intraoperative blood loss and transfusion, catheter-indwelling time, and postoperative hospital stay, urinary continence and erectile function (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONRobot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, with its advantages of few postoperative complications and well-preserved urinary continence and penile erectile function, is an effective, safe and minimally invasive surgical option for prostate cancer.

The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence and risk factors of fascioliasis in yaks, Bos grunniens, from 3 counties of Gansu Province in China. A total of 1,584 serum samples, including 974 samples from white yaks from Tianzhu, 464 from black yaks from Maqu, and 146 from black yaks from Luqu County, were collected and analyzed using ELISA to detect IgG antibodies against Fasciola hepatica. The overall F. hepatica seroprevalence was 28.7% (454/1,584), with 29.2% in white yaks (284/974) and 27.9% in black yaks (170/610). The seroprevalence of F. hepatica in yaks from Tianzhu, Luqu, and Maqu was 29.2%, 22.6%, and 29.5%, respectively. Female yaks (30.9%) had higher F. hepatica seroprevalence than male yaks (23.4%). Also, F. hepatica seroprevalence varied by different age group from 24.1% to 33.8%. Further, the seroprevalence ranged from 21.8% to 39.1% over different seasons. Interestingly, the season and age of yaks were associated with F. hepatica infection in yaks in the investigated areas. These findings provided a basis for further studies on this disease in yaks from 3 counties of Gansu Province in northwestern China, which may ultimately support the development of effective control strategies of fascioliasis in these areas.
