AIM: To investigate DNA-binding activity of nuclear factor ka ppa B (NF-?B) and pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) anti-inflammation effect and mechanism in trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced acute colitis in rats. METHODS: Acute colitis was induced by instilling TNBS/ ethanol into the lumen of the rat colon. Rats were randomized into PDTC-treat g roup (including group P10,P25,P50,P100), TNBS/ethanol group and normal control g roup. The rats in PDTC-treated group were injected intraperitoneally with PDTC at the dosages of 10, 25, 50, and 100 mg?kg -1 , respectively. Rats wer e killed at 4 h after enema. Colonic inflammation, the ratio of wet/dry weig ht and MPO, SOD, and MDA activity were detected. DNA-binding activity of NF-? B was assessed by EMSA. RESULTS: NF-?B activity in colon homog enate was increased markedly at acute colitis in rats. PDTC attenuates the devel opment of rat colonic inflammation but not by reducing the NF-?B activity. CONCLUSION: NF-?B is activated in rats with acute colitis, which may be a mechanism of self-protection. PDTC can attenuate the development of in flammation.

OBJECTIVE: To establish a model of alcoholic liver fibrosis (ALF) in rats induced by complex factors. METHODS: Forty-seven healthy male rats were divided into three groups: normal control group (n=12), minor CCl4 group (n=12) and complex factors group (n=27). The rats in the complex factors group were fed a complex diet including alcohol, corn oil and pyrazole, and administered with intraperitoneal injection of minor CCl4 to induce ALF. During induction process, the histopathological changes of liver tissue and the values of liver-to-body weight ratio were both observed regularly. The serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and gamma-glutamyltransferase (gamma-GT) in these three groups were all examined at the 12th week of the induction process. RESULTS: At the 12th week of the induction process, the model of ALF induced by complex factors was successfully established in rats, and the histopathological presentations showed alcoholic fatty liver, hepatitis and liver fibrosis in a sequence along with the induction process. The value of liver-to-body weight ratio and the serum levels of ALT, AST and gamma-GT of rats in the complex factors group were all significantly different from those in the other two groups. CONCLUSION: It is a steady and effective way to induce ALF in rats with complex diet and minor CCI4 injection.

Objective To investigate the influence of social support on the depression and anxiety of standardized training residents.Methods Three hundred and eighteen standardized training residents selected by random sampling method from 4 training bases in Shanghai participated in this survey.ResultsThe average score of PHQ-9 was(7.24±5.20), and 67.30%(n=214)of participants had different degrees of depression;the average score of GAD-7 was(5.57±4.55), and 55.03%(n=175)of participants had different degrees of anxiety.One-way analysis of variances showed that standardized training residents who had work experience, longer training years and less salary satisfaction got higher scores in PHQ-9 and GAD-7.Male physicians had higher scores in GAD-7 than female ones.The scores of PHQ-9 (r=-0.390, P<0.01) and GAD-7 (r=-0.376, P<0.01) were both negatively correlated with social support.Regression analysis showed that training years,salary satisfaction,objective social support and the availability of support were significant for predicting the scores of PHQ-9(adjusted R2=0.242,F=17.893), work experience, salary satisfaction,objective social support and the availability of support were significant for predicting the scores of GAD-7(adjusted R2=0.228,F=14.390).After controlled the demographic variables, social support explained the variation rate of 0.119 to the score of PHQ-9 and 0.126 to the score of GAD-7.Conclusion The depression and anxiety of standardized training residents in this study is in a serious situation.Providing the objective social support and the availability of support as well as improving the salary satisfaction of standardized training residents may relieve the depression and anxiety and enhance their mental health.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of liver tumor in children. Methods Among 23 cases,21 cases underwent resection. Results Benign tumors were in 10 cases and malignant tumors in 11 cases. AH patients were followed up for 0. 5 - 3 years. Two cases died during the follow-up. Three year survival rate in benign tumor was 100% ( 10/10) and 82% (9/11 ) in malignant tumor. Conclusions Most malignant liver tumors were embryonal in children. Combination therapy of surgery and chemotherapy improves the prognosis. Prognosis of benign tumors after total resection is satisfactory.

Objective To observe the effect of smoking on the great saphenous vein tension. Methods The rings of great saphenous vein in 3mm long of selected from 31 patients with coronary artery bypass grafting were divided into three groups :smoking over 10 years( group A, n = 12 ), ex-smoking over 1 years ( group B, n =9 ) and non-smoking( group C, n =10). The changes of the tone were measured in organ chamber at 37℃ with a constant supply of oxygen when vasoconstriction induced by phenylephrine ( 10 -9 - 10 -5 mmol/L), and vasodilatation by acetylcholine ( 10 -9 - 10 -5 mmol/L) or nitroglycerin( 10 -9 - 10 -4 mmol/L)after the rings were precontracted by 10 -5 mmol/L phenylephrine. Results Vasoconstriction induced by phenylephrine and vasodilatation by nitroglycerin is no significant difference among three groups. Compared with group A, vasodilatation by acetylcholine was significantly increased in group B or C, while there is no significant difference between group B and C. Conclusion Smoking has a deleterious effect on the endothelial function of great saphenous vein, however, smoking cessation over 1 year may help to restore the endothelial function impaired by smoking.

In June 2016,a disease among the cultured rock carp (Procypris rabaudi) in Yongchuan of Chongqing Municipality occurred.The aim of this study was to investigate biological characteristics and provide reference for Aeromonas veronii identification diagnosis and treatment.Pathogenic bacteria strain YY01 from the dying fishes were examined and isolated.Strain YY01's taxonomic status was identified by observing the morphology,studying the physiological and biochemical characters and sequencing the 16S rRNA and housekeeping gene gyrB.Its pathogenicity was checked by artificial infection experiment and virulence genes.Furthermore,effective medicine was detected by drug sensitivity.The 16S rRNA and gyrB gene sequence of the strain YY01 was more than 99％ homology with that of Aeromonas veronii,suggesting that the pathogen was Aeromonas veronii,which was also identified by the results of biochemical analysis.The LD50 of strain YY01 to rcok carp was 5.06 × 104 CFU/g.Four virulence genes were detected from YY01,including aerolysin (aer),hemolysin (Hly),Outer Membrane Protein Gene A (OmpA) and adhesion (Aha) genes.Antibiotic sensitivity assays showed that among 40 antibiotics tested,22 were sensitive and 11 were resistant.In conclusion,the strain YY01 is identified as Aeromonas veronii and it is proved to have strong pathogenicity.

Objective: To analyze the thromboelastography (TEG) outcomes in patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) combining diabetes mellitus (DM).
Methods: A total of 360 SAP patients treated in our hospital by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from 2012-01 to 2013-06 were randomized into 2 groups:SAP+DM group, n=109 and SAP-DM group, n=251. Routine clinical examination and TEG test were performed and compared between 2 groups.
Results: Compared with SAP-DM group, SAP+DM group showed the higher ratios of male gender, history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and higher level of hs-CRP, all P<0.05. Single regression analysis indicated that DM was related to adenosine diphosphate (ADP) inhibition rate (r=0.977, P=0.0001), not related to arachidonic acid (AA) inhibition rate (r=0.245, P=0.069). Multi regression analysis presented that with controlled relevant factors, DM was still related to ADP inhibition rate (r=0.862, P=0.0001). The major TEG parameters as R value, K value,α-angle and MA value were obviously different between 2 groups, P<0.05, while the AA inhibition rate was similar, P=0.057. ADP inhibition rate was different between 2 groups, P=0.0001. The incidence of clopidogrel resistance was higher in SAP+DM group than that in SAP-DM group (34.7%vs 16.2%, P=0.001).
Conclusion: The SAP patients combining DM were at hyper-coagulation status with higher incidence of clopidogrel resistance, who needed intensive post-operative anti-platelet therapy.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical application of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency thermocoagulaion in brachial plexus block.MethodsC5-C7 brachial plexus block was performed by 6-13 MHz high-frequency ultrasound probe in 65 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Visual analogue scale (VAS) score were compared before and after treatment.ResultsThe brachial plexus was showed clearly in 62 patients; however, 3 patients had to be confi rmed by nerve stimulation positioning. The percentage of successful rate is 100%. There was no operation related nerve injury and other complications. The VAS score of preoperation and 1st, 4th and 12nd week after treatment was 8.67±0.76, 3.58±0.62, 2.46±0.2 and 1.77±0.28, respectively. There were significantly difference between before and after treatment (t=58.71, 6.23, 107.72, allP<0.01).ConclusionThe brachial plexus block using radiofrequency thermocoagulaion combined with ultrasound guidance is a safe and radiation-free treatment and warrants to be promoted in clinical practices.

Objective To examine the expression of Fas and Fas ligand(FasL)in T lymphocytes of oral lichen planus(OLP)and the effects of Fas,FasL and activation-induced cell death(AICD)on OLP.Methods The oral mucosa samples from patients with OLP and nomal oral mucosa were assessed by in situ terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase(TdT)-mediated deoxvuridine-5'-triphosphate(dUTP)-biotin nick endlabelling(TUNEL)assay for nucleosomal DNA fragmentation of apoptotic cells in infiltrating lymphocytes.Immunohistochemcial technique was used for detection of expression level of Fas and FasL.Immunohistochemcial double labeling was performed to examine the expression of Fas and FasL in CD8~+ T cells and CD4~+ T cells.Results The rate of apoptosis in infiltrating lymphocytes of OLP was(1.9±1.8)%,which was lower than that of normal oral mucosa(P=0.013).The expression of Fas and FasL were increased in lymphocytes of OLP(P=0.005 and 0.000 respectively).The positive rate of double labeled cells of CD8~+ and Fas~+ was not increased in OLP(P=0.313),and of CD8~+ and FasL~+ in OLP was higher than that of normal oral mucosa(P=0.002).The expression of double labeled cells of CD4~+ and Fas~+ in OLP was higher than that of control group(P=0.031).The expression of CD4~+ and Fas~+ T cells in reticular OLP were increased(P=0.019),and of CD4+ and FasL+ did not show remarkable change(P=0.097).Conclusions There was a low frequency of lymphocytic apoptosis.T cells,especial CD8~+ T cells in OLP and CD4~+ T cells in atrophic-erosive OLP appeared to escape from AICD,which may account for the persistense of inflammation.Some CD4~+ T cells in reticular OLP may go through AICD.

Objective To compare the effectiveness of expandable intramedullary nail(EIMN) versus locked compression plate (LCP) in the treatment of humeral shaft fractures of AO types A and B.Methods The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed and compared of the 44 humeral shaft fractures which had been treated between May 2012 and February 2016.There were 26 men and 18 women,from 23 to 66 years of age (average,41.5 years).By AO classification,22 cases were type 12-A and 22 type 12-B.EINM was used in 22 patients with an average age of 41.3 ± 1 1.7 years and LCP in 22 ones with an average age of 41.6 ± 10.3 years.The 2 groups were compared in terms of intraoperative blood loss,operative time,hospital stay,union time,union rate,Constant and Mayo scores at the final follow-ups,and complications as well.Results The 2 groups were compatible without significant differences in the preoperative demographic data (P ＞ 0.05).All the 44 patients were followed up for 10 to 18 months (average,12 months).The intraoperative blood loss (76.4 ± 18.66 mL),operative time (69.1 ± 13.2 min),incision length (5.8 ± 1.5 cm) and union time (13.2 ± 8.4 w) in the EIMN group were significantly better than those in the LCP group (138.6 ± 39.4 mL,96.4 ± 14.2 min,8.5 ± 1.4 cm and 18.4 ± 6.6 w,respectively) (P ＜ 0.05).There was also a significant difference between the 2 groups in the total complication rate[18.2％ (4/22) versus 50.0％ (11/22)] (P ＜0.05).No deep infection or should pain was observed in either group.Conclusions Inthe treatment of humeral shaft fractures of AO types 42-A and 42-B,compared with LCP,EIMN may have advantages of less intraoperative blood loss,operative time,union time and complications.The 2 methods are similar in hospital stay and final functional recovery of the should joint.
