Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(06):-
Objective To explore the differentially expressed genes of gastric cancer, matched normal gastric tissue and premalignant lesions. Methods The differentially expressed cDNA bands were isolated and identified by fluorescent differential display and then reamplified by PCR.After being cloned, all cDNA fragments were sequenced. Through BLAST,the results were compared with GenBank database for homology analysis. The expression of the cDNA fragment in different tissues was confirmed by Northern blot. SMART-RACE(rapid amplication of cDNA ends) was used to amplify the full length cDNA sequence. Bioinformatics analysis was performed to analysis its function. Results A differentially expressed cDNA fragment expressed lower in gastric cancers and premalignant lesions,no homology was found in GenBank. The novel cDNA fragment was given an accession number of EST(CD454989)in GenBank. A full length cDNA sequence of 1362 bp was acquired, who coded 267 amino acids, and was homologous with BAA91562.1,whose physiology function was unknown. Conclusion A differentially expressed gene was found and it may be involved in process of the gastric cancer.

Objective To investigate the causes and managements of recent postoperative complications of degenerative scoliosis (DS) treated with long-segment internal fixation and fusion. Methods The clinical data of 89 patients with DS treated with long-segment internal fixation and fusion were retrospectively analyzed. Results There were 16 patients suffered from the recent operative complications and the incidence rate was 17.98%(16/89).There were 3 patients with superficial incision infection,1 patient with leakage of cerebrospinal fluid,1 patient with cardiac inadequacy,1 patient with urinary system infection,9 patients with lower limb numb or pain,1 patient with lower limb sensation and motor function decreased (severe nerve injury).According to the causes of complications,anti-infection,specific treatment, nerve nourishment, adjusting the screw in operation were treated.Infection, leakage of cerebrospinal fluid, cardiac inadequacy and urinary system infection were all cured. The symptom of lower limb numb or pain improved after treatment for 3 months, the symptom disappeared after treatment for 6 months. The nerve function of the patient with severe nerve injury improved after treatment for 3 months, and the nerve function was normal basaly after treatment for 6 months. Conclusions The incidence rate of postoperative complications of DS treated with long-segment internal fixation and fusion is higher. The patients are older and with more preoperative complications,so to decrease the incidence rate of complications,on the basement of symptom relieve, decreasing the trauma of operation, matching with the sufficient preoperative ready, correct operative manipulation and closely postoperative monitoring and nursing should be adopted.

Aim To observe the timed analgesic effects by butabital (B), acetaminophen(A) and caffeine (C) in combination (BAC), in which the proportion was fixed as1. 25∶ 8. 1∶1. Method Three types of experimental methods, including the tailflicking method, the hot plate method and the pressurizing tail method, weretaken to determine indices at different times after the animals were adminstered(ig) high, median and low BAC dose. Results and conclusion BAC had a stronganalgesic effect in three types of experiments. The effect began 30 min after ad-ministration, arrived maximum at 1 h, decreased at 2 h and disappeared at 4 h.There was a dose-effect relationship between large and little BAC dose.

Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(01):-
Objective The epidemiologic evidences indicate that the benefits of using vitamin E (VE) against lung cancer remain controversial, the goal of the present paper is to know whether VE can produce the protective effect in lung cancer induced by benzo(a)pyrene B(a)P . Methods 225 Swiss mice were randomly divided into groups and treated with B(a)P and VE to systematically observe the intervention effects of VE on mouse lung cancer caused by B(a)P. Results VE exhibited no protective effect on B(a)P-induced lung cancer in female mice and instead promoted B(a)P carcinogenesis; neither protective effect nor promotion effect was observed in the male mice. The mechanism by which VE intervention influenced B(a)P carcinogenesis and lung cancer in female mice might be more complex. Conclusion The results of the present paper suggest that VE should not be used to prevent lung cancer induced by B(a)P.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2005;25(1):72-4, 77
The safety of Chuangyuling (CYL) dressing-a multifunctional medicine carrying biomaterial was evaluated in order to provide foundation for the application of CYL as material used in the wound healing. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) extract solution was compounded with scaffolds (gelatin and Bletilla hyacinthine gum), and then frozen and dried to form spongy and porous material CYL. According to the standard of biological evaluation of medical devices that was instituted by the ministry of health of China, the biological evaluation of CYL dressing was conducted. The results showed that all the contents of biological evaluation test consisting of acute toxicity, skin irritation, sensitization and cytotoxicity met the requirement of standards. It was concluded that the biomaterial carrying TCM (CYL dressing) is safe for application of wound healing.

Objective To explore the experience in diagnosis and treatment ot primary transitional cell carcinoma of prostate for the early and accurate to diagnosis and treatment. Methods The clinical data and features of 3 cases were retrospectively reviewed. Results All patients were diagnosed as primary transitional cell carcinoma of prostate. Two cases were advanced tumor. The preoperative examinations (ultrasound and serum,PSA) have failed to accurately indicate the diagnosis. All of them were confirmed by pathological examination.1 case lost follow-up,1 case performed TURP + chemotherapy through intravesical administration have survived 17 months respectively till today. The other case has already survived 2 months postoperatively but with lumbar spine bone metastasis. Conclusions Early diagnosis of primary transitional cell carcinoma of prostate is difficult. The diagnosis of the disease depends on the transrectal needle biopsy of the prostate or the specimens of the prostate after the Urethroscopy.Because of the prognosis is bad,and prone to pathological missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis.Need to exclude multicentric lesions and mixed tumor and choice of treatment method.

BACKGROUND:The experimental animal models can be used to in-depth investigate the effect of ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of ischemic biliary lesions. But there is no report on the phase timing standard of rabbit model contrast-enhanced ultrasound that used in various hepatobiliary diseases. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the ultrasonic appearance of normal rabbit biliary ducts with conventional ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography, and the criterion of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography phase timing of rabbit liver. METHODS:The conventional ultrasonography of hepatobiliary system was performed on 10 healthy New Zealand rabbits, and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography was performed on duct wal s that displayed in conventional ultrasonography, then the features were analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) The bile duct of normal New Zealand rabbits showed a portal to biliary caliber ratio of 3.59±0.54. (2) The detection rates of common and middle lobe bile ducts were significantly higher than that of lateral lobe bile ducts on both conventional ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography. (3) The phases of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography of normal rabbit liver were divided into arterial phase (10-20 seconds), portal phase (21-30 seconds) and late phase (31-180 seconds). The normal duct wal presented hyper-enhancing at arterial phase and persistent iso-enhancing at portal and late phases. The establishment of these parameters of normal New Zealand rabbits not only lays a foundation for the application of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography on biliary ischemia but also expands to other hepatobiliary models.
