Objective Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder of aging.Identifying novel AD genetic risk factors is important for understanding its pathogenesis.Presenilin- 2 (PSEN2) is one of the causative genes for familial AD.Polymorphism of the promoter region of PSEN2 has recently been reported to be associated with sporadic AD in a Russian population.The purpose of this study was to determine whether AD is associated with the PSEN2 gene polymorphism in a case-control study.Methods We examined PSEN2 and ApoE genotypes of 160 patients with AD and an equal number of age- and sex-matched controls from the same community by using PCR-RFLP method.Statistical analyses included a Chi-square test for homogeneity and a Logistic regression analysis.Results Examination of PSEN2 genotypes revealed no statistically significant differences in the frequency of the+A/-A polymorphism when compared with the total sample of AD patients and control individuals (P=0.11). However,subgroup of ApoE 84 non-carriers suggested significant differences of the three genotypes of PSEN2 promoter between AD and controls (P=0.038).Logistic analyses indicated ApoE genotypes were related with AD,and after stratification by e4 allele,PSEN2 genotypes were related with AD of e4 non-carriers.In addition,there was no interaction between ApoE and PSEN2 gene.Conclusion The+A/-A polymorphism of PSEN2 promoter may be a minor genetic risk factor for sporadic AD,especially in the group of AD without ApoE ?4 allele.

Objective To explore the relationship between the serum neuron-specific enolase(NSE) level and stroke region and size,the degree of neurological deficit and prognosis at acute stage of stroke.Methods The level of serum NSE was detected by ELISA in 96 stroke patients at acute stage,including 58 cases of cerebral infarction (CI),27 cases of intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH),11 cases of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and 25 normal controls(NC group).The relationship between the level of serum NSE and China Stroke Score (CSS),Barthel index(BI),score of Glasgow-Pittsburgh Coma Scale,lesions region and volume were analysed among the various stroke types groups.Results The levels of serum NSE in the stroke patients at acute stage were significantly higher than that in NC group (allP

Objective To investigate influences of nasal continuous positive airway pressure to sleep architecture of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and the reason of daytime sleepiness. Methods 34 patients with severe OSAS were monitored with polysomnography (PSG) before and after nCPAP treatment. Results Apnea hypoventilation index (AHI) decreased and the lowest SaO2 increased and sleep architecture was improved in all patients. Conclusion The nCPAP therapy can effectively improve the disturbances of sleep architecture and respiratory parameters.

Method:This material is obtained by CM Sephadex C 25 and FPLC MonoQ. We have examined the effect of ? N oxalo L ?,? diaminopropionic acid on contraction of artery of guinea pig. Result:When histamin and adrenalin do not exist, there is neither contraction nor relaxation. It can strengthen induction of contraction of artery of guinea pig, but it has no such effect on adrenalin. Besides, it doesn't induce plaque coagulation through adrenalin, ADP blood coagulation enzyme and collagen. It doesn't suppress the transformation from tension peptide of blood vessel to enzyme.Conclusion:Hemostatic effect of ? N oxalo L ?,? dlaminopropinomie acid may caused by vesseles contraction through promoting Histamine.

AIM: To detect the serum proteomic patterns in patients of breast cancer by the method of SELDI-TOF-MS and CM10 ProteinChip, and to screen the biomarker candidates, build and validate the diagnostic models, and evaluate its clinical value in surveillance and follow-up after operation. METHODS: The SELDI-TOF-MS technology and CM10 ProteinChip were used to detect the proteomic patterns of serum from 63 breast cancer patients and 40 healthy women. The biomarker candidates were screened and the diagnostic models were constructed by ZJU-PDAS software. Meanwhile, the model was blind-validated in another 23 patients and 20 healthy women. At the same time, 16 serum samples were detected to evaluate its value in surveillance and follow-up after operation. RESULTS: The best model was composed by two protein peaks (BC1/3.9 kD and BC2/5.6 kD) with its sensitivity and specificity of 87.30% (55/63) and 95.00% (38/40), respectively. The sensitivity and specificity in the blind-validation of new cases were 95.65% (22/23) and 85.00% (17/20), respectively. The diagnostic efficacies were the same to the patients of different stages (P>0.05). The expression of BC1 increased while BC2 decreased after operation. The expression of BC2 in the patients with recurrence or metastasis was higher than that in the tumor-free survivors (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: This method shows its potential in detection, surveillance and follow-up after operation. The method is also useful for screening the novel and better biomarkers in breast cancer.

Objective To evaluate the radiation dose and image quality of MinDose techniques in dual-source CT coronary artery angiography.Methods 120 consecutive patients undergoing cardiac CT scans were randomly assigned into 2 groups: Group A1 with the tube current reduced to 20% of the normal tube current outside the pulsing window,and Group A2 with the tube current reduced to 4% of the normal tube current outside the pulsing window (MinDose).The image quality,noise,volume CT dose index (CTDIvol),and effective dose (E) of these two groups were evaluated.Results The mean score of imaging quality of Group A1 was (4.3 ± 0.3 ),not significantly different from that of Group A2 [(4.5 ±0.4),t=0.16,P＞0.05].The value of CTDIvol of Group A1 was (40.2 ±9.6) mGy,significantly higher than that of Group A2 [( 36.4 ± 9.1 ) mGy,t = 3.2,P ＜ 0.05].The E value of Group A1 was (9.1± 2.2) mSv ,significantly higher than that of A2 [( 8.1 ± 1.9) mSv,t = 2.7,P ＜ 0.05].Conclusion Application of the MinDose technique not only reduces the radiation dose to the patient,but also meets the requirement of diagnosis.
