2.Expression and Significance of Ets- 1 in Chondrosarcoma and Osteochondroma of the Jaws
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2000;20(6):550-552
ObjectiveTo analyze the expression and significance of Ets- 1 (E26 transformation-specific) in chondrosareoma and osteochondroma of the jaws.MethodsEts- 1 expression was de-tected by immunohistochemistry in 20 cases of chondrosarcoma and 8 cases of osteochondroma of thejaws.Results12 of the 20 cases of chondrosarcoma (t50%) showed an Ets- 1 positive reastion. Thepositive rates of grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ were significantly higher than that of grade Ⅰ ( P < 0.05 ). Re-current cases showed a higher Ets - 1 positive rate than primary ones ( P < 0.05 ). Ets - 1 was presentin 12.5 % (1/8) osteochondroma. The positive rate was significantly different between chondrosarcomaand osteochondrorna ( P < 0.05 ).ConclusionThe results indicate that Ets- 1 is overexpressed inchondrosarcoma of the jaws and correlated with its pathological grade and recurrence.
3.Curative effect of enteral and parenteral nutrition support therapy in elderly patients with severe pneumonia
Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition 2017;24(2):98-100
Objective:To investigate the effects of two different routes of nutrition support on the treatment of severe pneumonia in elderly patients. Methods:From January 2015 to January 2016,84 elderly patients with severe pneumonia in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups,42 patients in each group. The enteral nutrition (EN) group was treated with nasogastric feeding and another group was defined as combined treatment group. After 4 weeks of treatment, the nutritional status of two groups of patients was compared. The incidence of complications during treatment were documented. Results:After treatment, the hemoglobin was (111.34 ± 20.33) g/L,and the albumin was (23.33 ± 5.09) g/L in the EN group. The hemoglobin was (132.13 ±24.39) g/L,and the albumin was (35.43 ±9.12)g/L.There was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05).The cure rates of the two groups were 92.86% and 95.24%,respectively,and there was no significant difference (P > 0.05).Conclusion:For elderly patients with severe pneumonia, the combination of enteral and parenteral nutrition is more likely to improve the nutritional index, and has a lower incidence of adverse events.

5.Effects of Cultural Conditions on the Content of Intra-and Extracellular Polysaccharides in Spirulina Maxima
Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 2000;0(06):-
This study revealed that the content of intra and extracellular polysaccharides may be related to the cultural conditions. With decreasing NaHCO 3 or NaNO 3 concentration, the content of intracellular polysaccharide was reduced,Reduction of NaNO 3 concentration still caused the rise of extracellular polysaccharides. The K 2HPO 4 or NaCl concentration also had an effect on the production of both intracellular and extracellular polysaccharides. When PH value of media maintained at 8.0,there was the highest content of intra and extracellular polysaccharides. The same high content also occurred after culture of nine days.In addition the content of intracellular polysaccharide was higher under continuous light than under the light/dark circle.
6.SERUM-URIN ?_2 MICROGLOBLIN CHANGE AND DYNAMIC OBSERVATION IN CHILDREN'S GLOMERULAR DISEASES
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1982;0(01):-
This paper reports serum ?_2 microglobiln (?_2M in abbreviation) in 216 normal children of different ages. Urin ?_2M in 60 normal adults; and both in 50 cases of common glomerular disease in children were detected by RIA. The results showed that serum ?_2M is more accurate than BUN in judging the renal function. The elecating serum ?_2M is coincidence with the elevating of diastolic pressure of the sick children. The dynamic observation on delayed cases examination of serum ?_2M and urin ?_2M may be of help in monitoring the pathological changes in glomerular and tubule.
7.MORPHOLOGY OF NEURONS AND IDENTIFICATION OF PROJECTING CELLS IN THE HAMSTER DORSAL LATERAL GENICULATE NUCLEUS
Zhonghao LIU ; Gongqiu ZHENG ;
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
Rapid Golgi preparations of golden hamster dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus (LGd)show three classes of neurons with different morphological characteristics. Class Ⅰ and class Ⅲ cells are distributed throughout the LGd.Class Ⅱ cells are found more common medially at mid-genieulate levels.Class Ⅰ cells are multipolar neurons with large cell body. The smooth primary dendrites branch extensively. Spine-like and small excrescences are found along distal dendrites.Class Ⅱ cells have medium size pear-like cell body. The distal dendrites are usually derived from one primary dentrite.Dense cluster of dentritic protrusions is usually found at branch points of the dendrites.Class Ⅲ cells have the smallest cell body and are paucidendritie but the dendrites have complex protrusions including pearl-like dendritic appendages.Class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ cells possess an axon but most of class Ⅲ cells are not found to have an axon. The connections between the LGd and visual cortex was investigated using the retrograde horseradish peroxidase(HRP)histochemical method. After injection of HRP into the visual cortex,Class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ neurons were labelled but class Ⅲ celts were not suggesting that class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ cells are projecting neurons.Class Ⅲ cells do not seem to project to the visual cortex and are probably local circuit neurons.
9.Comparative Analysis of Laparoscopic Versus Open Surgery in Obese Patients with Appendicitis
Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2014;(10):903-905
Objective To analyze the clinical effects, as well as its advantages and disadvantages, of laparoscopic surgery for appendicitis in obese patients. Methods Clinical data of 80 obese patients receiving appendectomy, including 38 cases of open appendectomy and 42 cases of laparoscopic appendectomy, were analyzed retrospectively. The operative time, blood loss, analgesic and antibiotic use, postoperative fever, postoperative complications, length of hospital stay, and hospitalization cost were compared between the two operative methods. Results Conversions to open surgery were required in 2 patients in the laparoscopic group. There was no significant difference in operative time between the 2 groups (P >0.05).Compared with the open group, the laparoscopic group had less blood loss [(14.98 ±12.77) ml vs.(31.58 ±19.00) ml, t=-4.550, P=0.000], shorter time of postoperative antibiotic use [(2.7 ±1.0) d vs.(4.1 ±1.2) d, t=-5.470, P=0.000], less postoperative analgesics needed [5.0%(2/40) vs.26.3%(10/38),χ2 =6.802, P=0.009], less drainage [2.5% (1/40) vs.18.4% (7/38), χ2 =5.367, P=0.021], less postoperative fever [5.0%(2/40) vs.23.7%(9/38),χ2 =5.616, P=0.018], less postoperative wound healing [5.0%(2/40) vs.21.1%(8/38),χ2 =4.493, P=0.034], and shorter hospital stay [(5.9 ±3.2) d vs.(8.7 ±4.1) d, t=-3.345, P=0.001], but the higher cost of hospitalization [(7800 ±396) yuan vs.(4914 ±434) yuan, t=30.716, P=0.000]. Conclusion For obese patients with appendicitis, laparoscopic appendectomy has less surgical trauma, faster recovery, less postoperative pain, fewer complications, and shorter hospital stay, being a preferred method of treatment.
10.A survey on retinopathy of prematurity of in vitro fertilization versus natural conception
Journal of Chinese Physician 2014;16(11):1494-1497
Objective To investigate whether the incidence and severity of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) differs between infants conceived naturally and those who were in vitro fertilization (IVF),and to analyze ROP-related factors, with a comparative case series. Methods This was a study on premature infants who required screening and treatment of ROP in the Second Affiliated Hospital & Yuying Children's Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, carried out between January 2008 and April 2012.One thousand and one hundred eighty three infants met the study criteria and were divided into two groups:natural conception (group Ⅰ,1058 infants) and IVF (group Ⅱ,125 infants).Multiple variables were recorded, including birth weight (BW),gestational age (GA),number of births (NOB,singleton/twins/triplets),type of conception (natural conception/IVF),neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS),patent ductus arteriosus (PDA),neonatal asphyxia, neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (NHB),intracranial hemorrhage (IH),congenital heart disease (CHD),neonatal anemia, neonatal sepsis, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).The results of ophthalmological examinations were also recorded. The incidence of ROP between groups was compared with the Pearson Chi-square test.We applied Spearman correlation analysis to identify the variables that were most significantly associated with ROP.Results There were 138 infants of ROP in group Ⅰ (total 1058,13.0%),and 17 in group Ⅱ (total 125,13.6%),without significant difference in the presence of ROP between two groups (P > 0.05).No significant difference was found in the presence of ROP affected by BW,GA,NOB,NRDS and other diseases between two groups (P > 0.05).A significantly inverse association was found between ROP and BW (P < 0.05),and between ROP and GA (P < 0.05).No association was found between ROP and NOB (P > 0.05).There was no significant difference in the presence of diseases between infants conceived naturally and those by IVF in group ROP (P > 0.05).A significant association was found between ROP and NRDS (P < 0.05).No association was found between ROP and diseases (PDA,neonatal asphyxia,NHB,IH,CHD,neonatal anemia, neonatal sepsis, and BPD).Conclusions Our study shows that IVF was not a risk factor for ROP.
