Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(05):-
To investigate the clinical characteristics of hypertension in patients with primary aldosteronism (PA), 112 cases of PA confirmed by pathological examination after operation were studied retrospectively. These included 111 cases of PA with unilateral adrenal adenoma and 1 case of bilateral adrenal adenoma. Incidence of hypertension in patients with PA was 100%. 14 3%, 37 5% and 48 2% of patients were at stage 1, 2 and 3 of hypertension, respectively. No relationship between hypertension and the age or duration of hypertension and the size of tumor. Complications of hypertension were found in 31 3% of patients with PA. Stroke was found in 4 5% patients, 3 6% patients with cerebral hemorrhage and 0 9% patients with cerebral infarction. Coronary artery disease as myocardial infarction was found in 1 8% of patients. Proteinuria and renal insufficiency were found in 22 3% of patients and 2 7% of patients, respectively. Complications of hypertension were independent of the age, duration of hypertension, the size of tumor, or preoperative highest systolic pressure and diastolic pressure. 83 9% of patients had taken antihypertensive drugs before operation, and 46 5% of patients still had persistent hypertension after operation. The results suggested that the incidence of hypertension in patients with PA was extremely high, and the majority of patients were suffering from moderate and severe hypertension. Complications of hypertension were common in patients with PA. Hypertension was difficult to control by using antihypertensive drugs before operation, and still persisted after operation in some of the patients with PA.

Objective To establish the normal data of the fetal thorax, and to evaluate its values in the diagnosis of fetal thorax malformation. Methods Totally 398 normal singleton fetuses at 16 to 36 gestational weeks(GW) were enrolled,2D-US and 3D-US VOCAL technique were used to measure the 2D data and 3D volumes on the transverse section at the level of the four-chamber view, and the correlation among all measurements with GW was analyzed.Thirty fetuses collected randomly were examined to analyze the reliability.Nine fetuses with congenital thoracic dysplasia (CTD) and 10 fetuses with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) were assessed and compared with the normal fetuses. Results ① In healthy controls, the fetal thoracic 2D measurements and 3D volumes increased along with the growth of the GW.The regression equations were listed as follows:thoracic transverse diameter (cm) =-0.002 GW2 + 0.301 GW-1.510;thoracic anteroposterior diameter (cm) =0.003GW2 + 0.046GW + 0.666;thoracic area (cm2) =0.071GW2-1.466 GW + 14.728;thoracic circumference (cm) =0.01GW2 + 0.313GW + 3.341;thoracic volume (cm3) =0.285 GW2-7.797GW + 66.592;lung volume (cm3) =0.178 GW2-5.317GW + 45.539;the ratio of lung volume to thoracic volume =0.005GW + 0.396.② The reliabilities of the data obtained by the same/two different operators were good.③ CTD group was obviously lower than the healthy controls in all thoracic measurements (all P <0.01).There was no statistical difference in the 2D data between the CDH group and healthy controls (P >0.05),while the 3D volumes and the ratio of lung volume to thoracic volume were obviously lower than those in the healthy controls (P <0.01).Conclusions 2D-US can evaluate the fetal thoracic development and malformation preliminarily, but 3D-US VOCAL technology plays an important role in distinguishing different types of thoracic malformations.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
At present, microbe surface display system mainly involves phage surface display system, bacte- rial surface display system, yeast surface display system and virus surface display system. Baculovirus sur- face display system is a new type of eukaryote surface display system which developed based on deeply un- derstanding of construction and function of virus genome in recent years. Through fused expression with vi- ral capsid or membrane proteins exogenous peptides can be displayed on the surface of the virus and formed hedgehog-shape "fake virus". Baculovirus surface display system was characterized by safeness and high performance, furthermore, this system can complete post-translation processing and modification of protein to enhance the bioactivity of exogenous product. Combined with the author’s experimental work, this paper briefly introduces the mechanism and traits of this system and summarizes the newest research development on its application in the field of monoclonal antibody preparation, new-type vaccine development, genes transduction and genes therapy. It is believed that the system above may show extensive application through further improvement and optimization.

Microbiology 2008;0(08):-
A fungus CQ31 isolated from soil samples was identified as Chaetomium sp.. This strain produced effectively xylanases utilizing several liguocellulosic materials in the solid-state fermentation (SSF), and corn straw was the best carbon source. The results of single-factor-experiment showed that the corn straw as the carbon source, tryptone as the nitrogen source, initial moisture content of 80% and initial pH 9.0 were the optimal conditions for xylanase production. Under the optimized conditions, it produced xylanase which was 4897 U/g dry substrate while mannanase was 803 U/g dry substrate after 7 days of cultivation. Therefore, xylanase and mannanase production by Chaetomium sp. CQ31 in SSF possess potential for commercial applications.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the association of ret gene rearrangement mutation with the pathogenesis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Methods Twenty-seven cases of PTC were analysed for expression of ret gene rearrangement (ret/PTCs) by multiplex-PCR at first, and then ret/PTC1-3 were identified by identification-PCR (ID-PCR). Finally, the specific ret/PTC was affirmed by automated direct sequencing. Ten specimens of malignant thyroid tissues of other histological types, 33 benign thyroid lesions and 30 normal thyroid specimens beside tumor (as the control) were also included. Results (1) Fifteen samples showed positive ret/PTCs, 11 of which harboured ret/PTC1,3 were positive for ret/PTC3, and 1 for ret/PTC2. All the rearrangements were clearly identified by automated direct sequencing of ID-PCR products. (2) All the 15 ret/PTC-positive tissue samples were histologically confirmed to be PTC. The prevalence of the tumor-specific ret rearrangements in 27 patients with PTC is 55.6% (15/27). (3) No significant difference was found regarding the gender and age of the patients, tumor size and metastasis of neck lymph node. 33.3% (2/6) of the PTC with invasion of extrathyroidal soft tissue were ret/PTC-positive, as compared with 66.7%(4/6) for ret/PTC-negative group (P
