Objective To explore the correlation between adverse childhood experiences, personality characteris?tics and alcohol dependence. Methods A total of 102 patients with alcohol-dependence (Patients group) and 106 volun?teers (control group) were rated by the adverse childhood experience scale (ACEs) and the big five personality scale (BFP). Results The prevalence of ACEs are significant higher in patients group than in control group, especially regard?ing emotional abuse, physical neglect, witness violence and substance abuse. The patients group has lower scores of de?light, conscientiousness and higher scores of psychoticism. Psychoticism and parents abuse alcohol in childhood were the risk factors of alcohol dependence. Conclusions There is a correlation between alcohol dependence with their ACEs, per?sonality characteristics and parents abused substance. The psychoticism increase the risk of alcohol dependence.

Objective To investigate the effect of venous indwelling needle on peripherally inserted central catheterization (PICC).Method Seventy-eight critical patients underwent PICC through external jugular vein using venous indwelling needle at the emergency treatment.Result The success rate for one-time puncturing was 97.4%,without any complications. Conclusion PICC through external jugular vein using venous indwelling needle is advantageous for its safety, fewer complications and longer indwelling duration.

OBJECTIVETo explore the expression of glucose transporter (GLUT)-1 and insulin receptor (IR) alpha1 in osteoblast obtained from diabetic rats' mandibles.
METHODSThe expression of GLUT-1 and IR alpha1 of diabetic and control groups were measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, Western blot and immunohistochemistry stain.
RESULTSThe mRNA expressions of GLUT-1 and IR alpha1 of diabetic group were significantly higher than control group (P<0.05). The protein expressions of GLUT-1 and IR alpha1 were similar to the mRNA expressions.
CONCLUSIONOsteoblasts obtained from diabetic rats' mandibles keep the adaptation changes to hyperglycemia and hypoinsulinemia, which may contribute to their dysfunction.
