The endophytic bacteria of the mangroves were studied in this paper. The results show that there are 1.728 (0. 195 -4.225)?104cfu/g (fw) bacterial endophytes in the variety of mangroves, the most population of the endophytic bacteria was found in Rhizophora stylosa, the figure was4. 225?104cfu/g (fw) , the next was Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Aegiceras corniculatum, Kandelia candel and Avicennia marina. In parts of the mangroves, the contents of the bacteria in stem was the most, the figure was 1. 649?10 cfu/g (fw) , then the root and the leaf. Of the bacteria, about 43. 53% strains expressed the antagonism against the growth of the plant pathogens, such as Fusarium oxyspontm f. sp. cubense , Colletotrichum sp. and Rahtonia solanaceance etc. and these bacteria were identified as Bacillus sp. . The results also showed that 9 of the 13 strains (69. 23% ) could promote the growth of the tomato, while 4 strains (30. 77% ) restrained the tomato's growth.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of Huoxue Jieyu decoction (HJD) on patients with depression after craniotomy.
METHODSNinety patients were randomly divided into 2 groups according to the sequence of their consultation. The 45 patients in the treated group were treated with conventional symptomatic treatment plus oral administration of HJD, and the 38 patients in the control group were treated in the same way but with chlorimipramine (anafranil) instead of HJD. Hamilton depression (HAMD) scores before and after treatment, occurrence of adverse effects and long-term therapeutic effect of treatment were observed.
RESULTSThe score of HAMD was insignificantly different in 2 groups before and after treatment (P >0.05), but the occurrence of adverse effects between them was significantly different (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe therapeutic effect of HJD on depression was similar to that of anafranil, but HJD has less adverse effect and more stabilized long-term effect.

To investigate changes of 14-3-3beta from apoptosis induced by PrP106-126 polypeptide, HeLa cell was incubated with PrP106-126 for 4h or 8h. Nucleus changes and the expression of PARP were detected differently by Hoechst staining and Western blotting. Expressing of protein and mRNA from 14-3-3beta was determined by Western blotting and Real-time PCR. The results show that typical nucleus pyknosis and chip of apoptosis and degradation of PARP were induced by PrP106-126 peptide in HeLa cells. Degradation of 14-3-3beta appeared in apoptosis groups induced by PrP106-126 peptide. However, 14-3-3beta mRNA did not display any changes in apoptosis groups. This study indicated that degradation of antiapoptosis protein 143-3beta induced by PrP106-126 peptide may be one of pathogenesis mechanism of prion disease.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the discrepancy of HBsAg titre and correlation of HBV DNA levels among patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), HBV-related liver cirrhosis (LC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
METHODSHBsAg titre and HBV DNA in serum samples were measured among 47 CHB, 72 LC and 54 HCC cases using Abbott chemiluminescence and fluorescence quantitative PCR, respectively. Statistical analyses among multiple groups, between two groups and about the correlation were performed using Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test and Spearman test, respectively.
RESULTSThe median HBsAg titre level in serum samples decreased from 2361.10 IU/ml in CHB cohort to 1001.64 IU/ml in LC cohort and 594.35 IU/ml in HCC cohort, suggesting a statistically significant difference (x2 = 24.394, P less than 0.05). Moreover, HBsAg titre in CHB group was significantly higher than that in LC group ( Z = -3.754, P less than 0.05). CHB patients had significantly higher HBsAg titre than HCC cases ( Z = -4.630, P less than 0.05). However, there was no statistically significant difference in HBsAg titre between LC and HCC group. Among HBeAg positive patients, HBsAg titre decreased from 3259.83 IU/ml in CHB group to 1077.30 IU/ml in LC group and 789.72 IU/ml in HCC group, indicating a significant difference (x2 = 15.643, P less than 0.01). Among HBeAg negative patients, HBsAg titre declined from 1669.00 IU/ml in CHB group to 1001.64 IU/ml in LC group and 582.05 IU/ml in HCC group, suggesting of a significant difference (x2 = 6.423, P less than 0.05). Positive correlation between HBsAg titre and HBV DNA was found in CHB ( r = 0.297, P less than 0.05), LC (r = 0.346, P less than 0.05) and HCC (r = 0.452, P less than 0.05), respectively.
CONCLUSIONHBsAg titre level in serum decreased progressively from CHB to LC and HCC group. There were positive correlations between HBsAg titre and HBV DNA level in CHB, LC and HCC.

Objective To learn the changes of blood lead levels and serum biochemical parameters of the school agechildren from different areas. Methods All research objects, the school age children, were from three different areasrespectively, including a mountainous area (L area), an island area (H area) where there is not history of Pb pollution, and an industry area (N area) in relation to Pb pollution. The morning urine and peripheral venous blood samples werecollected from the school age children. Pb in blood (PbB), δ-aminoaevulinic acid in urine (ALA), Ca2+, BUN, Cr inserum, and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), thyroxin (T4), free thyroxin (FT4) levels were detected. ResultsPbB levels [M was 36.0 ppb] of the school age children from N area were significantly higher than that of L area [22.0 ppb] andH area [23.8 ppb]. On the contrary, serum Ca2+ levels of the school age children from N area were significantly lower than thatof L area and H area. Serum T4 of N area was significantly lower than that of L area and H area. Serum FT4 of H area wassignificantly higher than that of L area and N area. And TSH of N area and H area were both obviously lower than that of L area. But all of these thyroxin indexes were in the range of normal values. Conclusion It should be widely concerned that thesignificant elevation of PbB levels may have a negative impact on school age children in the future.

Objective:To investigate the effect of hemoglobin on Shp2 expression in brain tissues and adherens junction in blood brain barrier in rats after cerebral hemorrhage. Methods:Eighty male SD rats were randomly allocated into sham-operated group and groups of cerebral hemorrhage for 6 h, 24 h, 3 d, and 7 d ( n=16). Rat models in the groups of cerebral hemorrhage were established by intracerebral injection of 20 μL of hemoglobin. Six h, 24 h, 3 d, and 7 d after injection, neurological functions were assessed by Longa scale; brain water content and brain organ coefficient in the harvested cerebral tissues were calculated by wet-dry weighting method; Shp2 mRNA expression was analyzed by real-time fluorescence quantification reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR); Shp2 positive neurons was detected by immunohistochemistry; the protein expressions of Shp2, α-catenin, β-catenin and vascular endothelial (VE)-cadherin, and phosphorylated (p-) α-catenin, p-β-catenin and p-VE-cadherin were explored by Western blotting. Results:As compared with those in the sham-operated group, Longa scale scores in groups of intracerebral hemorrhage for 6 h, 24 h, 3 d and 7 d were significantly increased ( P<0.05). As compared with the sham-operated group, groups of intracerebral hemorrhage for 24 h, 3 d and 7 d had significantly increased brain water content and brain organ coefficient, statistically reduced Shp2 mRNA expression, statistically samller amount of Shp2 positive neurons, and statistically reduced Shp2 protein expression, and significantly increased protein expressions of p-α-catenin, p-β-catenin and p-VE-cadherin ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Intracerebral injection of hemoglobin can downregulate Shp2 expression and promote phosphorylation of adherens junction proteins, therefore induce the disruption of adherens junction, which might be a critical mechanism of blood-brain barrier disruption and brain edema.

OBJECTIVETo observe postoperative glucose tolerance, gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) , and glucogan-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in normal glucose level dogs after undergoing gastric bypass procedures, and to explore the mechanism of gastric bypass procedures to treat type 2 diabetes.
METHODSThe 6 dogs with normal glucose tolerance had undergone gastric bypass procedures, and measure preoperative and postoperative oral and intravenous glucose tolerance (at time points 1, 2, and 4 weeks) through changes in blood glucose, insulin, gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), and measure preoperative and postoperative week 4 pancreatic tissue morphology.
RESULTSSecond weeks after operation, the fasting blood sugar was (3.58 ± 0.33) mmol/L, and significantly lower than preoperative (t = 3.571, P < 0.05). The GLP-1 level before oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and 30 minutes after OGTT were (0.90 ± 0.21) and (0.91 ± 0.19) pmol/L respectively, and significantly higher than preoperative (t value were -3.660 and -2.971, P < 0.05). GLP-1 levels began to decrease in the second week after surgery. After 4 weeks, the index recovered to the preoperative level. Four weeks after surgery when compared with preoperative, islet morphology, islet number (6.8 ± 0.8 and 7.1 ± 0.8 respectively) and islet cells (16.7 ± 2.5 and 16.3 ± 3.1 respectively) did not change significantly (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONGastric bypass procedures could be briefly affect normal glucose tolerance in dogs' blood glucose, insulin and diabetes-related gastrointestinal hormones.
