Objective To discuss the effect of growth hormone(GH) on acute gastric mucosal lesion(AGML) in rats.Methods 120 Wistar rats were divided into four groups randomly: blank control group(n=8),simple model group(n=32),model+rhGH group(n=40) and model+cimetidine group(n=40).Animal models of AGML were set up through soak and tie of rats.GH was injected to the rats in experimental groups,while cimetidine was used in the positive control group.Morphologic changes of rat gastric mucosa in each group were observed and compared on different days(0,4,8,12 d) after stress through gross looking,light microscope,and electron microscope.Ulcer index(UI),secretion amount of gastric acid,pH value and gastric mucosal were compared.Results Compared with blank control and model+cimetidine groups,the histomorphologic changes of gastric mucosa were obviously alleviated in model+rhGH group: only part of epithelial cells swelled,red blood cells were seldom seen,neutrophils infiltration reduced obviously,no remarkable changes were observed in the submucosal tissue.Mucosal cells were in good state and degeneration were seen in only a few cells under the electronic microscope.In addition,UI and the degree of gastric mucosal atrophy in model+rhGH group were lower than that in control group significantly(P

OBJECTIVEThe aim of this study is to investigate the effects of irradiation on the proliferation and differentiation of MC3T3-E1 osteoblastic cells.

METHODSMC3T3-E1 cells were irradiated 24 h after initial seeding. Gamma-radiation was administered at 0, 4, and 8 Gy as single doses by using a 60Co source. Cell proliferation was assessed at days 1, 3, 5, and 7 post-irradiation by using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenylte-trazolium bromide assay. The collagen secretion of the cells was measured through sirius red staining at day 12 post-irradiation. The expressions of osteogenesis-related genes were assessed through real time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction at day 16 post-irradiation. The matrix mineralization caused by cells was evaluated through alizarin red staining at day 28 post-irradiation.

RESULTSThe cells exposed to 4 Gy or 8 Gy demonstrated significantly lower proliferation rates compared with the non-irradiated group. Doses of 4 Gy or more significantly inhibited the expressions of osteogenesis-related genes (Osterix and osteocalcin). Collagen secretion and cell mineralization were significantly reduced by the 8 Gy dose.

CONCLUSION60Co gamma-rays dose-dependently suppress the proliferation, collagen secretion, and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells. Furthermore, radiation seems to dose-dependently inhibit the expressions of osteogenesis-related genes of the cells.

AlM: To observe the effect of dacryocystorhinostomy for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis using nasal endoscope and discuss the operation technique. METHODS: A retrospective clinical analysis was performed on the clinical data followed up for 6 ~12mo from 140 patients (169 eyes) with dacryocystorhinostomy for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis using nasal endoscope. The effect of the treatment was evaluated and the operation technique for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis using nasal endoscope was discussed.RESULTS: ln all of cases 155 eyes ( 91. 7%) were recovery, 3 eyes ( 1. 8%) were improved, and 11 eyes (6. 5%) were failure. The total efficiency was 93. 5%, there was no significant difference compared with traditional dacryocystorhinostomy group (χ2=3. 743, P>0. 05). CONCLUSlON: Dacryocystorhinostomy using nasal endoscope for treatment of chronic dacryocystitis has a good curative effect. Techniques including lacrimal sac location and size, colostomy position and size, treatment of colostomy mucosal flap and nasal disease, postoperative follow - up and physical condition of patients are likely to affect the operation curative effect.

AIM To research effects of sodium ferulate(SF) on transforming growth factor ?_1 inhibited hepatocyte growth. METHODS Human cultured hepatocytes(L02 cells) served as control group ,TGF?_1(5 ?g?L -1 ) was used to inhibited L02 cells to construct the cell model. MTT methods were used to study the growth inhibitory effect of TGF?_1 on L02 cells. DNA synthesis was analyzed by measuring 3H-TdR incorporation. The effects of SF on the changes of cell cycle were analyzed by flow cytometry. Generation of intracellular ROS was determined by the emission of fluorescence in L02 cells proloaded with DCFH-DA fluoresin and then treated them with TGF?_1 or SF. Objective To investigate the influence of different timing of surgery on patients with poor-grade intracranial aneurysm. Methods The clinical data of 86 patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (Hunt-Hess gradeⅣ toⅤ)were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into an ultra-early treatment group (the operative time within 24 h after onset;n=40),an early treatment group, (24 to 72 h after onset;n=27),and middle and late treatment group (>72 h after onset;n=19)according to the different timing of surgery. The prognosis of patients at 6 months after procedure was evaluated with the modified Rankin Scale (mRS)scores. The differences of the rate of good prognosis (mRS 0 to 2)and mortality in patients of the 3 groups were compared. Results (1 )The ratios of good prognosis in the ultra-early treatment group,early treatment group,and middle and late treatment group were 55. 0%(n=22),33. 3%(n=9),and 21. 1%(n=4),respectively. There were significant differences (P<0. 05). The mortality rate of the ultra-early treatment group (7. 5%)was lower than that of the early treatment group (25. 9%) or middle and late treatment group (42. 1%). There were significant differences (P<0. 05). (2)There were significant differences in the rate of good prognosis in different timing of surgery in patients with gradeⅣ(P<0. 05);there was no significant difference in the rate of good prognosis in patients with grade Ⅴ(P>0. 05). The mortality ratios in patients of the 3 groups were 2/18,4/11,and 6/11,respectively. There were significant differences (P<0. 05). Conclusion Ultra-early operation may benefit part of the patients with poor-grade aneurysm,particularly in patients with gradeⅣ. As for the patients with grade Ⅴ, ultra-early operation may help to reduce short-term mortality rate,however,the rate of vegetative state is high.

Objective: To inquire into the testis gene change of mouse model with kidney-yang deficiency induced by overfatigue and excessive sexual life, the modern science mechanism of syndrome of kidney-yang deficiency and kidney controlling reproduction can be revealed on the gene level. Methods: The model of kidney-yang deficiency was established by each male mouse with six female mice keeping in the same cage, and all the male mice were forced to swim for 30-40 minutes everyday lasting for four weeks. The testis genes of mice in control group and model group were detected with Mouse OneArrayTM Whole Genome DNA microarray. The differentially expressed genes were screened under the condition of the relative fluorescence intensity ratio of the two groups ≥2 and ≤0.5 and further classified according to gene function by using Molecule Annotation System (MAS) created by CapitalBio Corp. Beijing, China. Results: The mouse model with kidney-yang deficiency was established successfully by the method of overfatigue and excessive sexual life. The scatter plot of gene expression profiles of comparing control group with model group was drawn. Differentially expressed genes were screened, including 2425 up-regulated genes and 3080 down-regulated genes. Among the first one hundred up-regulated genes, 41 genes were known and among the first one hundred down-regulated genes, 62 genes were known. These genes were mainly related to the cellular structure/function, material/energy metabolism, signal transduction/transmission, inflammation/immunization, cell apoptosis, transcription/translation,proliferation/differentiation and cell cycle. Conclusion: The testis gene of kidney-yang deficiency mouse had a wide change. The essence of kidney-yang deficiency syndrome and the theory of the kidney originating and controlling life reproduction were explained on the gene level.

This paper introduces a type of anaesthesia workstation which is composed of two vertical medical chests, i.e. the upper and lower parts. Taken out of the chest, the two parts are butted against and locked to make the workstation ready for operation. After operation is finished, the two parts are uncoupled and put into the chests, and then the workstation can be stored and transported with the chests closed.

Objective To investigate the effects of total flavonoids of Herba Epimedii(HEF)on the metabolism of typeⅠcollagen and the expression of cathepsin K in the bone of ovariectomized(OVX)rats. Methods Fifty-four female SD rats were allocated into 6 groups;OVX group,sham operation group,OVX rats followed by three doses of HEF(40,80 and 160 mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1))and nilestriol(0.1 mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1))for 12 weeks respectively.Bone mineral density(BMD)of whole body was determined by dual-energy X-ray absoptiometry.The level of cross-linked N-telopeptide of typeⅠcollagen(NTx)in the urine were determined by ELISA.The amounts of typeⅠcollagen protein and cathepsin K protein in bone tissue were detected by immunohistochemical method and Western blotting.Results Compared with OVX group,the total BMD values in the HEF treated groups were increased(all P＜0.05),and the expression levels of typeⅠcollagen in three HEF treated groups rose significantly in a dose-dependent manner after 12 week,and simultaneously,both the expression of cathepsin K in bone and the level of NTx/Cr were reduced markedly(P＜0.05),being most significant(P＜0.01)in the group treated with the highest dose of HEF(160 mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1)).Conclusion HEF seems to be able to elevate BMD and improve bone quality of rats via promoting synthesis and inhibiting proteolysis and absorption of typeⅠcollagen in the bone.
