Objective: To investigate applicability for Boston naming test (30 items) (BNT) in Chinese elderly and identify effect for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's dementia(AD) using BNT. Methods:100 normal elderly, 38 amnesic MCI, 34 mild AD and 38 moderate AD were evaluated by neuropsychological tests (include BNT, mini mental state examination and auditory verbal memory test, etc). MMSE total score of 4 groups were 28.4?1.5, 26.1?2.6, 20.7?1.7, and 15.6?3.3, respectively. Results: Age, sex, level of education were found to be significant factors affecting overall scores of spontaneous naming in normal elderly group. Spontaneous naming score for participants of elementary, high school and college groups were 22.2?3.3, 25.5?2.5 and 26.3?1.8, respectively. Scoring of male participants higher than that of females. Spontaneous naming score of 4 groups were 24.9?3.0, 20.9?3.6, 18.7?4.0 and 15.7?4.2, respectively. As cut-off ≤22 score of spontaneous naming of BNT, the sensitivities for MCI, mild AD and moderate AD were 61%, 79% and 95% respectively; the specificities were all around 81%. Selective impairment of unfamiliar items occurred MCI and mild AD and hold of familiar item across diagnostic groups. Semantic cue naming and recognition ability by BNT showed there was progressive damage in AD patients, but less than that of spontaneous naming of BNT. Conclusion: The ability of naming is influenced by age, gender and educational level. Patients with MCI or mild AD have impairment in naming.

AIM:To explore relationship between the normal strehl ratio ( SR ) values of total aberrations/SR values of total higher-order aberrations and modulation transfer function ( MTF ) at total corneal at different pupil diameters in normal population.
METHODS: To exam the SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher-order aberrations of total corneals in 200 people ( 400 eyes ) using SIRIUS 3D topography system and analysis the corresponding root-mean-square ( RMS) .
RESULTS: The subjects with different pupil diameters (3. 0, 5. 0, 6. 0, 7. 0mm)'s exam results of total corneal were as following:SR value of total aberrations 100’(0. 45±0. 12), (0. 25±0. 06), (0. 17±0. 05), (0. 13±0. 04); SR value of total higher order ab cerrations 100’(0. 69±0. 14), (0. 34±0. 07), (0. 24±0. 05), (0. 16±0. 04);SR value of total aberrations 200’(0. 45±0. 12), (0. 24±0. 06), (0. 20±0. 04), (0. 16±0. 03); SR value of total higher order aberrations 200’(0.70±0. 13), (0. 35±0. 07), (0. 27±0. 06), (0. 20±0.04 ) . The SR values of each group decreases with the increases of pupil diameters. The SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher - order aberrations at total corneals are negatively correlated with corresponding RMS value. When the pupil diameter is small, the SR value of total aberrations is more related to higher frequency region of MTF. When the pupil diameter is big, the SR value of total aberrations is more related to lower frequency region of MTF.
CONCLUSION: The visual performance of normal people can be well reflected by SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher - order aberrations at total corneal.

Objective To analyze the clinical and histopathologic characteristics in children with subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma(SPTCL),and explore the pathological diagnosis and differential diagnosis,in order to boost paediatricians to better understanding the disease.Methods One case was diagnosed SPTCL with over 2 years protracted course of fever and multiple skin lesions.The evolvement of clinical presentation,the misdiagnosed experience,the histopathological features,the immunohistochemical results and T cell receptor(TCR)gene cloning rearrangement were observed.The related literatures published were reviewed.Results Skin biopsy showed that the histopathologic findings were limited within subcutaneous fatty tissue,the atypical lymphocytes characteristically rimmed individual fat cells in a lace-like pattern.Immunophenotypic studies showed CD45,CD45RO,CD3,CD5,T cell intracellular antigen-1(TIA-1)and perforin usually expressed possitive,while CD10,CD20,CD56,CD68,epithelial membrane antigen(EMA)and cytokeratin(CK)were negative,implying tumor cells derived from T-cell.The results of TCR gene rearrangement as following:IgH FR2(+),FR3A(-);TCR ? JVI(-),JVII(+);TCR? JD1(-),JD2(-).Although the protocol of children's T-cell Non-Hodgkin lymphoma was administrated,the treatment outcome was poor.Conclusion SPTCL is a special primary cutaneous lymphoma with poor prognosis,skin biopsy of suffered lesion is an important method for the diagnosis of SPTCL children with unclear recurrent fever and multiple skin lesions.

Objective To investigate lymph node metastasis on the middle and lower segment of lⅡ and Ⅲ stage of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas,understand the factors influencing the lymph node metastasis,and provide the basis for the key areas of lymph node cleaning.Methods A retrospective study was made on the specimens of 186 patients who were middle and lower segment of Ⅱ and Ⅲ stage of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas,who had underwent radical operation through left thoracic,thoraco abdominal two field lymph node cleaning.All the cases were patients from April 2010 to December 2013 at the Inner Mongolia Medical University Clinical Medical College of Chifeng.Results A percentage (67.9％) of patients (126/186) was found with lymph node metastasis.A total of 4259 lymph node was dissected,with an averaged cleaning of (22.9 ± 8.1) lymph nodes for each case.A total of 622 lymph nodes (14.6％ =622/4 259) existed metastasis.The rate of mediastinum metastasis for middle and lower segment of esophageal cancer was 56.1％ and 16.5％,respectively.The rate of metastasis to the lower mediastinal lymph nodes was 34.6％ and 54.4％,respectively.The rate of metastasis to the celiac lymph nodes was 23.4％ and 46.8％,respectively.A significant difference was found in the metastasis locations of middle and lower segment of esophageal carcinomas (P ＜ 0.05).The top three locations of lymph node metastasis in the middle segment of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas were the lymph nodes of left artery paraesophageal,carina,and gastric bypass.The top three locations of lymph node metastasis in the lower segment of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas were paraesophageal,cardia,and gastric lymph nodes.The depths of tumor invasion,differentiation,intravascular cancer embolus were statistically significant effect on lymph node metastasis rate (P ＜ 0.05).Tumor location,and lesion length had no significant effect on the lymph node metastasis rate (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The lower segment of Ⅱ,Ⅲ stage esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with lymph node metastasis occurs in the lower mediastinal and abdominal lymph nodes.The middle segment Ⅱ,Ⅲ stage esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with lymph node metastasis occurs in the thoracic and abdominal lymph nodes with Jump transfer characteristics.The lymph node cleaning of the mid-dle segment includes the left artery near the stomach,paraesophageal,and carina lymph node.The lymph node cleaning of the lower segment includes paraesophageal,cardia,and gastric lymph nodes.The metastasis rate of vascular tumor thrombus is related to the depth of tumor invasion and differentiation degree.

Objective To establish the bedside screening scale for cognition examination in systemic lupus erythematosus patients.Methods The modified mini-mental status examination(MMMSE)(revised by the Neurology Department of Hua Shan Hospital)was applied to examine the recognition function of SLE pa- tients.The results were compared with those of the traditional mini-mental status examination(MMSE).Results MMSE examination results showed that NPSLE score was lower than that of normal control group(P＜0.01),no significant difference was found between NPSLE patients and SLE control group(P＞0,05),and the completion time was longer than SLE control group and normal control group(P＜0.01);but no significant difference was found between SLE control group and normal control group.The result of MMMSE examination showed that the score of NPSLE group was lower than that of SLE control group and normal control group(P＜0.01),and the completion time was longer than SLE control group and normal control group(P＜0.01);but the score of SLE control group was lower than the normal control group,and its completion time was longer than normal control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.01).Conclusion MMSE is the most widely used dementia scale,but it is not sensitive in demonstrating the impairment of recognition function.The several items we added to the MMMSE can detect recognition impairment more sensitively,and ean be very easily applied,costs less time(within 10 minutes).Therefore,it can be used for SLE bedside screening.

Objective To construct the recombinant plasmid pYES6-S and express and purify spike protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome(SANS)coronavirus in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Methods DNA fragments of SANS coronavirus were obtained by reverse transeription.Four over- lapped fragments of spike protein genes were amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and ligated into an integral spike protein gene by restriction enzyme digestion.The spike protein gene recombined with pYES6 and cloned into E.coll.The recombinant plasmid pYES6-S was induced and expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae(INVScl)by galactose.Results The recombinant plasmid pYES6-S was confirmed that inserted fragment was right in length,direction and base matching by restriction enzyme digestion and sequencing.The purified protein encoded by the whole spike protein gene was about Mr 110?10~3 identified by electrophoresis.Conclusion The whole spike protein gene of SARS coronavirus is cloned into E.coli and the protein is expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae successful ly.which can be helpful in SARS vaccine research.

The research aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of Opuntia dillenii Haw polysaccharide (OPS) on atherosclerosis of rats. First atherosclerotic rat models were established by high-fat and high-calcium diet. Thirty days later, the rats were treated with low dosage of OPS (0.2 g x kg(-1) x d(-1)) or high dosage of OPS (0.4 g x kg(-1) x d(-1)) by intraperitoneal injection for 60 days continuously. At the end of treatment, thoracic aorta rings were prepared and vasorelaxation of rat thoracic aorta in different experiment groups were determined by using 620M multi wire myograph system in vitro. Blood and livers of rats were collected. Then plasma levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) of rats were separately determined using whole automatic biochemical analyzer; protein level of hepatic apolipoprotein B (ApoB) and that of hepatic diglyceride acyltransferase (Dgat1) were measured by Western Blot technique. Results showed that the ability of rat thoracic aorta to relax decreased markedly in the model group compared with that in the normal group, and significant differences existed in vasorelaxation ratios induced by different concentrations of carbamylcholine chloride (Carb) between these two groups (P < 0.01). After OPS treatment, the ability of rat thoracic aorta to relax improved markedly, the vasorelaxation ratios induced by Carb at 5 and 10 μmol x L(-1) were respectively 0.34 ± 0.08 and 0.62 ± 0.15 in the group treated with low dosage of OPS, while the ratios induced by Carb at 1 and 5 μmol x L(-1) were respectively 0.54 ± 0.08 and 0.98 ± 0.02 in the group treated with high dosage of OPS, which were all significantly different with those in the model group (P < 0.01). Plasma contents of TC, TG and LDL reduced significantly by the treatments both with low and high dosages of OPS compared with those in the model group (P < 0.01). Protein level of hepatic ApoB and that of hepatic Dgat1 decreased significantly after the treatment with high dosage of OPS compared with those in the model group (P < 0.01). These results indicate that OPS can markedly improve the vasorelaxation of thoracic aorta of atherosclerotic rats and has significant anti-atherosclerotic effect; inhibiting the expression of ApoB and Dgat1 and thus decreasing the amounts of TC, LDL and TG serving as one of the molecular mechanisms of its antiatherosclerosis effect.
